A moving distance of the center(4) according to the size of the workpiece(5) is preset in the controller(6). The center(4) is moved by a predetermined distance controlled by the controller(6). A control device of the collet chuck(2) is connected to the controller(6). The controller(6) corrects the moving distance of the center(4) if the workpiece(5) has a different size.
