Abstract
Disclosed is a conductive gasket for electromagnetic shielding comprising a double-sided adhesive tape having a predetermined width and a conductive cover bonded to one side of the double-sided adhesive tape, including both ends, and having a space formed therein by its tension. This results in less force on these parts when the gasket is pressed into parts mounted on both sides, making it the thinnest because it consists only of a double-sided adhesive tape and a conductive cover. In addition, since the sponge is not placed inside the conductive cover, the manufacturing process is simplified and the manufacturing cost is lowered.
Description
The present invention relates to a conductive gasket for electromagnetic shielding, and more particularly, to a conductive gasket for electromagnetic shielding that can prevent leakage or intrusion of electromagnetic waves in various seams or connecting portions of a small electronic device.
In response to the development of the electronic communication industry and the establishment of the information society, modern home appliances, industrial electronic devices and information communication devices are required to be downsized, have high processing capacity, and have low power consumption. More devices were installed in the space. As a result, it is gradually placed in an environment susceptible to propagation noise, and various measures have been taken to solve this problem.
The main parts of the device to which electromagnetic waves leak and penetrate include a connection part of the device, a cable, a transparent display panel, and a connector connection part. Among these, electromagnetic shielding at the connection part of the device is mainly performed to prevent radio waves generated from the outside from invading the inside of the device through the atmosphere or to prevent electromagnetic waves generated from the inside of the device from leaking to the outside. In order to maximize the shielding of the electromagnetic wave at the connection part of the device, it is optimal to design it seamlessly, but it is impossible to make it seamless at the connection part of the device. Therefore, electromagnetic chipping or leakage at the connection part of the device is inevitable and a conductive gasket is used to prevent this.
For example, in a portable computer such as a laptop, when a keyboard is mounted in a case, a gap occurs between the keyboard and the case. In addition, when the LCD panel is mounted on the case, a gap is generated between the LCD panel and the case. In order to eliminate the intrusion or leakage of electromagnetic waves through such a gap, each of the parts must be precisely processed, but there are limitations due to the tolerances present in the manufacturing process. Therefore, conventionally, such a gap has been removed using a gasket.
Referring to Figure 1, a cross-sectional view of a conductive gasket conventionally used is shown. As shown, the conductive cover 1 surrounds the sponge 3 via the adhesive 2, and a double-sided adhesive tape 4 is attached to the bottom. At this time, the conductive gasket has a thickness of a predetermined or more (about 0.5T or more) due to the limitation of the sponge thickness.
The method of using such a conductive gasket 10 will be described taking as an example a case for shielding a gap between the keyboard and the case of the portable computer.
First, the bottom surface of the double-sided adhesive 4 is attached to the case, and then the joining portion of the keyboard is placed on the conductive gasket 10 to join the case and the keyboard in a predetermined method. As a result, the sponge 3 of the conductive gasket 10 is pressed, thereby acting as a buffer between the keyboard and the case, thereby eliminating gaps.
However, in a small electronic device such as a portable computer or a portable communication device, when the parts are coupled to each other via a conductive gasket, the conductive gasket is compressed. In the related art, a sponge is provided inside and the thickness of the sponge has a limitation in processing technology. It has a thickness and also weakens the tension of the sponge itself. There are some limitations, so the force applied to both parts is very large and the design margin is small. There is a problem.
In addition, since the conductive cover and the inner sponge must be bonded using an adhesive, there is a problem in that the manufacturing process increases the manufacturing cost.
In addition, the cover itself is conductive, but since the double-sided adhesive is not conductive, there is a problem in that it is not electrically connected between components mounted on both sides of the conductive gasket.
The object of the present invention is to solve the problems of the prior art, and it does not require much force to compress the thinnest thickness, the electrical connection between the parts mounted on both sides, and the manufacturing process is simple It is to provide a conductive gasket for electromagnetic shielding having a low manufacturing cost.

According to the conductive gasket for electromagnetic shielding using the self-tension of the conductive cover of the present invention, both sides of the double-sided adhesive tape having a predetermined width and both sides of the double-sided adhesive tape are bonded to each other including the ends thereof, and a space is formed therein by its tension. It consists of a conductive cover.
Preferably, a bent portion having a predetermined curvature is formed in the conductive cover corresponding to both ends of the double-sided adhesive tape, and the conductive cover is electroless plated with copper, nickel, or silver on polyester fibers, nylon fibers, and nonwoven fabrics or a combination thereof. One conductive fiber.
In addition, the double-sided adhesive tape is either conductive or non-conductive.
Hereinafter, the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the accompanying drawings.
2 is a cross-sectional view showing a conductive gasket for electromagnetic shielding of the present invention.
Both ends of the conductive cover 1 having a predetermined tension are fixed to each other by a double-sided adhesive tape 4. In this embodiment, both ends overlap, but they may be exactly coincident or may be spaced to some extent. Inside the conductive cover 1, a space portion 5 having a predetermined cross-sectional shape is formed by the tension of the conductive cover.
Preferably, the conductive cover is an electroless plate which is electroless plated with copper, nickel or silver on a polyester fiber, a nylon fiber and a nonwoven fabric or a combination thereof.
On the other hand, the width of the double-sided adhesive tape 4 is formed so as to correspond to the entire bottom surface of the conductive cover 1 in the case of conductive, but the width of the double-sided adhesive tape 4 is determined by the width of the conductive cover 1 when it is not conductive. It may be smaller than the width so that the conductive cover 1 can be directly brought into direct contact with both components, thereby electrically connecting, thereby reducing the material. The bent portion 6 of a predetermined curvature R is formed in the conductive cover 1 corresponding to both ends of the double-sided adhesive tape 4, and the space portion 5 is formed inside the conductive cover 1. The larger the tension of the conductive cover 1 is, the larger the curvature R becomes and the space portion 5 is also formed larger.
The method of using such a conductive gasket 10 will be described taking as an example a case for shielding a gap between the keyboard and the case of the portable computer.
After attaching the bottom surface of the double-sided adhesive tape 4 to the case, the engaging portion of the keyboard is placed on the conductive gasket 10, and the case and the keyboard are coupled in a predetermined manner. At this time, as the conductive gasket 10 is compressed, the space 5 formed therein serves as a cushioning material to remove the gap between the keyboard and the case. In addition, even after bonding, the cushioning function is sufficiently performed by the inherent tension of the conductive cover 1.
In the conductive gasket of the present invention, only the space portion 5 is formed therein, so that the components mounted on both sides of the gasket do not take great force when compressed.
In addition, since only the thickness of the conductive cover and the double-sided adhesive tape is maintained, the thickness of about 3T is maintained before the pressing, but the thickness after the pressing is usually about 0.5T or less, which is drastically reduced in comparison with the prior art. Accordingly, there is an advantage that the design margin is large in installing the gasket.
In addition, since only the space portion is formed inside the conductive cover, the manufacturing process is simplified and the manufacturing cost is lowered because the time and cost required for the separate processing can be reduced.
In addition, the use of a double-sided conductive adhesive electrically connects the components mounted on both sides of the gasket.
On the other hand, the larger the tension of the conductive cover itself, the higher the height of the space portion, and accordingly, the cushioning effect after the compression is further increased.
As described above, according to the present invention, since the space portion is formed inside the conductive cover having a predetermined tension, the components mounted on both sides of the gasket are not largely applied when pressed, and the thickness after the pressing is about 0.1T, which is significantly larger than that of the conventional art. This reduces the design margins for installing gaskets. In addition, since the sponge attaching step is not required, the manufacturing process is simplified and the manufacturing cost is lowered.
