Abstract

PURPOSE: A synthetic resin for replacing P.V.C. and styrene is provided to substantially eliminate carbon dioxide with no generation of dioxin and dimer as harmful materials by comprising as a principal resin, the ethylene copolymer and styrene-ethylene-butadiene terpolymer. CONSTITUTION: The synthetic resin composition comprises 75-90% ethylene copolymer (1,2) together with other transparent pigment; 10-25% ethylene terpolymer; 15-30% EPDM terpolymer; 70-85% ethylene copolymer; 0.6-1.2% lubricating agent; about 0.5% filler(3); and 0.8-1.2% stabilizer(5). The resin is prepared by mixing all of the components in a low speed mixer(6) for 5-7 minutes then removing moisture at 40-50 deg.C for 10-15 minutes in a dehydrator(7); placing the mixture into an extruder through a hoper(8) to extrude it up to Shore A 50-95 at the cylinder(11) temperature of 120-145 deg.C for 5-10 minutes. The extruder has a screw(11) length ratio of 32:1 or 34:1. The process has also an air-cooling cutter(12), a cooling pipe(13) and a container such as silo(14) containing the final product.
