Abstract

PURPOSE: A real time traffic information transfer system is provided to periodically transfer a current traffic condition of desired cross road or section as compressed still image to a mobile communication line to display the video data on a screen of a navigation system. CONSTITUTION: The real time traffic information transfer system comprises a camera(12), a service provide system(14), a service provider(10), a mobile communication terminal(22) and a navigator(20). The service provide system(14) collects video data shot by the camera and compresses the video data when particular video data are transferred. The service provider(10) consists of a telephone line(16) for transferring the compressed video data. The navigator(20) transfers data transfer request data together an ID of a cross road to be transferred by the request of a user to the service provider(10) to receive/decompress the compressed video data and display the decompressed data on a screen(26).
