Description
The present invention relates to a transmission space diversity apparatus in a code division multiple access (CDMA) system. In particular, when designing a base station of a code division multiple access system, an optical fiber is used to design transmission space diversity. The present invention relates to a transmission space diversity apparatus in a code division multiple access system for implementing transmission spatial diversity.
In this regard, Figure 1 is a block diagram showing an embodiment of a transmission space diversity apparatus in a code division multiple low-speed system according to the prior art, BSCA (Basestation Sector Conversion Assemble) (2) is a baseband signal intermediate Modulate to frequency (IF) band. The divider 4 then distributes the signals of the intermediate frequency band from the BSCA 2 into two paths to output transmission diversity, respectively.
Accordingly, the first UPC (UP Convertor) 6 converts the signal of the intermediate frequency band of one path among the signals divided into two from the divider 4 into an RF signal. In addition, the first High Power Ampplifiber (HPA) 8 amplifies the frequency-converted RF signal of the first UPC 6 by a designed value to radiate the transmission signal through the first antenna (sector antenna) to the service area.
The IF Delay Assemble (IFDA) 10 delays the signal of the other path among the signals divided into two from the divider 4 in real time by 1 µs or more than the signal of one path. The second UPC 12 frequency converts the real time delayed signal from the IFDA 10 into an RF signal. In addition, the second HPA 14 amplifies the frequency-converted RF signal of the second UPC 12 by a designed value to radiate the transmission signal through the second antenna (sector antenna) to the service area.
Therefore, the signals emitted from the first and second antennas are radiated to the same service area by the same output, and these two signals are received by the terminal in the service area. That is, even if the signal of one path becomes small due to fading and thus adversely affects the received signal, the signal of the other path is less likely to be smaller, so that the terminal can receive a stable signal.
However, in this conventional technique, the IFDA 10 must be obtained by using a large delay line and an amplifier to give a real time delay.
In other words, the delay line has a large loss, so an amplifier must be used. Various distortions generated in the amplifier (such as distortion caused by the IMD and distortion of the gain frequency response characteristic) become a problem.
In addition, an increase in the spatial and economic costs due to mutual interference by the first and second UPCs 6 and 12 or the use of two paths is also a significant drawback.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION The present invention has been made to solve such drawbacks of the prior art, and uses OTDA (Optical Transmitter Delay Assemble) to provide multiple paths in a terminal of a code division multiple system or a personal communication service (PCS) system. It is an object of the present invention to provide a transmission space diversity apparatus in an access code division multiple access system capable of delaying real time to suit a function of a RACK receiver that reduces distortion caused by fading.
In order to achieve the above object, the present invention provides a BSCA for modulating a baseband signal into an intermediate frequency band, and ZL is a UPC when frequency converting a signal in the intermediate frequency band from the BSCA into an RF signal, and an RF signal from the UPC. Divides the output signal into two paths for output diversity, and amplifies an RF signal of one path among the two signals distributed from the splitter to radiate the transmitted signal to the service area through the first antenna. 1 HPA, an OTDA that delays the RF signal of the other path out of two signals from the splitter in real time than the signal of one path, and amplifies the RF signal from the OTDA to transmit the transmission signal through the second antenna to the service area. Hereinafter, described in detail by the accompanying drawings an embodiment of the present invention as follows.
2 is a block diagram showing an embodiment of a transmission space diversity apparatus in a code division multiple access system according to the present invention. The BSCA 20 modulates a signal of a base band to an intermediate frequency band.
The UPC 22 then frequency converts the signal in the intermediate frequency band from BSCA 20 into an RF signal. The divider 24 then distributes and outputs the RF signal from the UPC 22 in two paths to implement transmit diversity. In addition, the first HPA 26 amplifies the FT signal of one of the two signals divided from the distributor 24 by a designed value to radiate the transmission signal through the first antenna (sector antenna) to the service area.
The OTDA 28 delays the RF signal of the other path among the signals divided into two from the divider 24 in real time by 1 µs or more than the signal of one path. The second HPA 30 then amplifies the RF signal from the OTDA 28 by a designed value and radiates the transmit signal through the second antenna (sector antenna) to the service area.
Therefore, if the same signal radiated from the first and second antennas is radiated in space with a real time difference of 1 μs, the terminal can perform the function of a RACK receiver that can remove distortion for fading due to multipath. Make sure
At this time, the above-described OTDA 28 is provided with an optical transmitter, a retarder and an optical receiver. First, the optical transmitter converts an RF signal from the distributor 24 into an optical signal, and the retarder is an optical signal from the optical transmitter. Delay the real time delay of 1μs or more, and the optical receiver converts the delayed optical signal from the delay into an RF signal and applies it to the second HPA 30.
OAI와 OAE(Optical Antemn Element) 간은 광 성로로 구성되어 있다.The antenna receives an RF signal of a base station reception band transmitted from a terminal through an antenna, converts the RF signal into an optical signal, and transmits the optical signal to an optical antenna interface (OAI) installed in the base station. OAI and OAE (Optical Antemn Element) are composed of optical paths.
At this time, one optical line used for one OAE consists of one pair for transmission and one for reception.
In addition, the real time delay time of the above-described optical line is 5 mu s / Km, the optical transmission loss is 0.4 dB / Km, and the thickness is very thin, which is structurally considerably smaller than other delay elements.
As described above, the OTDA 28 according to the present invention implements real-time delay elements using optical lines having a relatively low transmission rate, and these optical elements can be designed shorter than other elements, and are very thin geometrically. Because it is a different device, it can be realized in a smaller space than other devices, and transmission loss is very small. Also, since the optical device is not affected by the RF signal, the overall performance is also improved.
