The present invention relates to an electric vehicle battery pack case, and more specifically, the adhesive strength between the upper and lower plates of a cooling block can be significantly increased compared to the prior art without major structural changes, thereby eliminating adhesion defects and improving quality. , about electric vehicle battery pack cases.
As environmental pollution problems caused by internal combustion engines are revealed, electric vehicles (EV, Electric Vehicle) and hybrid electric vehicles (HEV, Hybrid Electric Vehicle) are replacing existing internal combustion engine vehicles as a way to solve these environmental pollution problems. It is attracting attention as an eco-friendly means of transportation.
Accordingly, interest in high-performance and high-capacity batteries, which are the power source of electric vehicles, is increasing, and research and development on battery packs are actively underway in various schools, companies, and research institutes.
Because an enormous amount of power, thousands of times more than that of a typical smartphone, is required to operate an electric vehicle, electric vehicles are equipped with at least dozens or as many as thousands of battery cells.
In order to manage numerous battery cells safely and efficiently, multiple battery cells are put into one frame to create a battery module, and a battery management system that collects several of these battery modules to manage the temperature and voltage of the battery. (BMS, Battery Management System) and cooling device are added to form a final battery pack, and a battery pack case containing this is required.
The performance of a battery pack is mainly determined by the temperature at which the battery cells are operated, and it is important to appropriately maintain the average temperature of the cells in the battery pack and reduce the temperature difference between cells. It is known that the appropriate operating temperature of a battery cell is in the range of 20℃ and 50℃.
If this temperature range is exceeded during charging, discharging, or operation, the performance of the battery cell may deteriorate and there is a possibility of fire or even explosion. In addition, it has a negative effect on electrochemical reactions, charge/discharge efficiency, and charge acceptance, ultimately reducing battery life.
Additionally, if there is an imbalance in internal resistance between cells due to temperature deviation, the problem of having to replace the battery module arises even though there are many usable battery cells remaining. Therefore, a battery cooling system is needed that can maintain the battery at an appropriate temperature and reduce temperature differences between cells.
Cooling of the battery uses cooling fluid and is generally performed on a battery module basis. Cooling methods can be broadly divided into air cooling and water cooling.
The air cooling method mainly involves attaching a cooling fan to the battery tray, sucking in air from the outside, cooling the battery tray with air from the inlet, and then exhausting the air through the rear outlet of the battery tray. Water cooling is a method used when the heat generation amount is relatively high and cools the battery pack by flowing coolant through a water cooling plate.
Meanwhile, the battery pack case is made up of a combination of several structures. That is, it may include a pair of housing covers, a battery frame, and a cooling block disposed between them.
In this structure, the cooling block is made up of an upper plate and a lower plate, except for the coolant passage through which the coolant flows. The upper plate and the lower plate are joined together and then glued to form one body.
However, in the case of the previous method, the adhesive surface where the upper and lower plates of the cooling block are bonded is too narrow, so the adhesive strength between the upper and lower plates of the cooling block is inevitably lowered, which can lead to poor adhesion. Technology development is needed.
The purpose of the present invention is to provide an electric vehicle battery pack case in which the adhesive strength between the upper and lower plates of the cooling block can be significantly increased than before without major structural changes, thereby improving quality by eliminating adhesion defects.

Meanwhile, the above object includes an adhesive bead processing step of processing an adhesive bead in the form of a groove on the adhesive surface of the cooling block lower plate to be bonded to the cooling block upper plate; An adhesive insertion step of inserting adhesive into the processed adhesive bead portion; An alignment arrangement step of the upper plate and the lower plate of the cooling block, aligning the upper plate and the lower plate of the cooling block with each other; And a bonding step of the upper plate and the lower plate of bonding the cooling block upper plate and the lower cooling block plate through the adhesive by providing heat pressing force to the aligned cooling block upper plate and the cooling block lower plate. This

In this embodiment, the latter method is used.
Accordingly, the
The cooling block
A cooling
In other words, in this embodiment, the
At this time, an adhesive
In this embodiment, the adhesive
The adhesive 130 is inserted into the
Meanwhile, the method of manufacturing the
The adhesive bead processing step (S10) is a process of processing an
The adhesive insertion step (S20) is a process of inserting the adhesive 130 into the processed adhesive bead portion. It is advantageous for the adhesive 130 to be of a gel type that does not flow, and since the
The alignment arrangement step (S30) of the upper and lower plates is a process of arranging the cooling block
In addition, the bonding step (S40) of the upper plate and lower plate provides heat pressing force to the aligned cooling block
Hereinafter, the process of manufacturing the
First, as shown in Figure 6, an
Next, the adhesive 130 is inserted into the
Then, as shown in FIG. 8, in the alignment arrangement step (S30) of the upper and lower plates, the cooling block
According to the present embodiment, which operates based on the structure described above, the adhesive strength between the
10 to 12 are partial cross-sectional exploded views of a cooling block according to another embodiment of the present invention.
Meanwhile, unlike the above-described embodiment, the structure of the
For example, as in the embodiment of FIG. 10, a plurality of adhesive
In addition, as in the embodiment of FIG. 11, a plurality of adhesive
Additionally, it can be configured as in the embodiment of FIG. 12. That is, the structure of the cooling block
Even if the modified embodiment of the structure as described above is applied, the adhesive strength between the
