Description
Various embodiments of the present invention relate to a vehicle automatic emergency braking system and a method of operating the same.
When an object (e.g. pedestrian or vehicle, etc.) is recognized in front of the vehicle, the vehicle's autonomous emergency braking system notifies the driver of a dangerous situation (e.g. an alarm sound) or actively applies the brakes. When activated, it means a smart safety system that prevents collisions between vehicles and objects.
일반적으로 자동 긴급 제동 시스템은 센서(예: 레이더 센서, 라이다 센서, 초음파 센서, 또는 카메라 센서 등)를 이용하여 전방의 물체를 감지하고, 감지된 물체와 차량 간의 거리 및/또는 차량과 물체 간의 상대적인 속도를 식별할 수 있다.Typically, automatic emergency braking systems use sensors (e.g. radar sensors, lidar sensors, ultrasonic sensors, or camera sensors, etc.) to detect objects in front, and determine the distance between the detected object and the vehicle and/or the distance between the vehicle and the object. Relative speeds can be identified.
The background technology of the present invention is disclosed in Korean Patent Publication No. 10-2019-0050238 (published on May 10, 2019, emergency braking system and control method thereof).
The automatic emergency braking system can determine whether to brake the vehicle by detecting objects located in front of the vehicle using sensors. This automatic emergency braking system determines whether to emergency brake the vehicle based on certain conditions, regardless of the type of road. As a result, the automatic emergency braking system misrecognizes non-pedestrian objects (e.g. signs) as pedestrians even on roads where pedestrians are unlikely to be present (e.g. highways, urban highways, tunnels, or toll gates, etc.), resulting in a system malfunction. It can happen. Therefore, a solution may be required to minimize damage caused by malfunction of the automatic emergency braking system.
Various embodiments of the present invention disclose a method and device for minimizing damage caused by a malfunction of an automatic emergency braking system of a vehicle by adjusting the braking force of the automatic emergency braking system of a vehicle in consideration of the type of road.
