Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a method for manufacturing an eco-friendly ice pack and an ice pack manufactured thereby, and more particularly, to an eco-friendly ice pack having excellent physical properties against internal and external physical actions such as ice, which is a refrigerant, and excellent recycling after use. It relates to a manufacturing method and an ice pack manufactured thereby.
Recently, as non-face-to-face consumption increases due to COVID-19, the use of ice packs used for packaging fresh food is rapidly increasing. However, once used and discarded, gel ice packs cause microplastics and are known to be the main culprit of environmental pollution.
For this reason, instead of the gel refrigerant, an ice refrigerant made by filling a pack with water and freezing it is released to prevent environmental pollution, but the problem of environmental pollution is still not solved due to the difficulty of recyclability of the pack.
As disclosed in a number of materials such as Korean Patent Publication No. 10-2021-0049432 and Korean Patent Publication No. 10-1822577, the conventional ice pack is a composite material in which a nylon film and a polyethylene (PE) film are laminated with an adhesive. It is made into a product and cannot be recycled.
That is, the conventional ice pack contains a polyethylene film with excellent recyclability because the nylon film forms the outer paper, the polyethylene film forms the inner paper, and the outer and inner papers are laminated with an adhesive, but it is difficult to separate the outer paper and the inner paper, so recycling is a problem. there is
For this reason, since conventional ice packs are incinerated or buried in landfills, they cause air and land environmental pollution.
An object of the present invention is to provide an eco-friendly method for manufacturing an ice pack having excellent physical properties corresponding to internal and external physical actions and excellent recyclability after use, and an ice pack manufactured by the method.
The technical problems to be solved by the present invention are not limited to the technical problems mentioned above, and other technical problems not mentioned will be clearly understood by those of ordinary skill in the art to which the present invention belongs from the description below. will be able
The present invention for achieving the above object comprises the steps of heating and melting the HDPE resin into the main screw; adding LLDPE resin to the first sub-screw, heating and melting, and supplying the molten LLDPE resin to the main screw; mixing the LLDPE resin supplied with the main screw and the HDPE resin to make a mixture; adding LDPE resin to the second sub-screw, heating and melting, and supplying the melted LDPE resin to the main screw; mixing the LDPE resin supplied with the main screw and the mixture to make a PE composition; and the main screw extruding the PE composition to make a film.
More specifically, the first sub-screw may heat-melt the LLDPE resin to a softening point and supply it to the main screw, and the second sub-screw may heat-melt the LDPE resin to a softening point and supply it to the main screw.
The PE composition may consist of 30 to 40 parts by weight of the HDPE resin and 10 to 20 parts by weight of the LLDPE resin based on 100 parts by weight of the LDPE resin.
According to the present invention, since the pack is made of a single-layer structure only with polyethylene (PE) components rather than paper or laminated structure through an adhesive, it is separated and discharged after use and can be recycled only by mechanical treatment of simply crushing and melting. Due to such high recyclability, environmental pollution can be greatly prevented. In particular, since recycling is possible only by mechanical treatment without chemical treatment, there is an effect of minimizing environmental pollution in the recycling process.
In addition, since the present invention has excellent mechanical properties (physical properties) of the pack even though it is made of only polyethylene components such as tensile strength and impact resistance, there is no damage or damage caused by external physical actions such as impact during delivery or transportation, and water is used as a refrigerant There is no damage or breakage caused by internal physical action such as volume increase that occurs in the process of freezing with ice.
In addition, the conventional ice pack has a problem in that the thermal adhesive part is broken due to volume expansion in the process of freezing water with ice because the thermal adhesive part cries or has poor adhesion due to the difference in physical properties between the nylon film and the polyethylene film. However, since the present invention is thermally bonded uniformly due to one physical property, the thermal bonding site does not cry, and the thermal bonding strength is excellent, so that it does not burst or break.
1 is a view showing a process of mixing polyethylene components in the environmentally friendly ice pack manufacturing method of the present invention.
FIG. 2 is a modification of FIG. 1 .
Hereinafter, preferred embodiments of the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the accompanying drawings. Detailed descriptions of well-known functions and configurations that may unnecessarily obscure the gist of the present invention will be omitted.
Polyethylene (PE) is a lightweight and durable thermoplastic resin with a variety of crystal structures and has excellent recyclability. Polyethylene is made by adding an ethylene (olefin) monomer or by radical polymerization, and Ziegler-Natta and Metallocene catalysts are used to carry out the polymerization of polyethylene.
Polyethylene has a difference in density depending on the polymerization method and is classified according to plastic density. ) and Linear Low Density Polyethylene (hereinafter referred to as "LLDPE resin") are representative examples.

As shown in Table 1, the melting point is lower in the order of HDPE resin, LLDPE resin, and LDPE resin, and the softening viscosity is lower in the order of HDPE resin, LLDPE resin, and LDPE resin. The softening point is the temperature at which the tip of the needle penetrates a depth of 1 mm from the surface of the sample when the temperature of the sample is raised while applying the pressure of a flat-tipped needle with a constant standard load and a cross-sectional area of 1 mm2 to the sample. It is the transition temperature at which the plastic becomes liquefied as it passes the softening point as the temperature is applied.
In terms of mechanical properties, HDPE resin has high tensile strength but is vulnerable to stress cracking, LDPE resin has excellent impact strength and weather resistance at low temperatures but is vulnerable to stress cracking, and LLDPE resin has excellent stress cracking and impact resistance. LDPE resin has good processability and is inexpensive.
The ice pack of the present invention starts from the step of manufacturing the film. The film is made of HDPE resin, LLDPE resin, and LDPE resin, and is manufactured by supplying HDPE resin, LLDPE resin, and LDPE resin to a screw, melt-mixing, and extruding.
At this time, since the melting points of HDPE resin, LLDPE resin, and LDPE resin are different from each other, the supply point must be considered when melting and mixing by means of a screw. When HDPE resin, LLDPE resin, and LDPE resin are heated to a temperature exceeding the melting point and melted, the properties and mechanical properties of each resin may be deteriorated by cutting molecular chains and reducing chain mobility. may be induced. Therefore, it is preferable that the HDPE resin, the LLDPE resin, and the LDPE resin are melted and mixed within a temperature range not exceeding the melting point and extruded into a film.
As shown in FIG. 1, the present invention provides the characteristics and mechanical properties of each resin through the

If the distance between the
On the other hand, the
The
At this time, the first and
If the LLDPE resin and the LDPE resin are heated to a temperature above the melting point in the first and
In addition, when HDPE resin, LLDPE resin, and LDPE resin are simultaneously supplied to the
In addition, in the case of supplying solid LLDPE resin or LDPE resin to the first and second mixing sections (B section) (D section) of the
For this reason, the LLDPE resin and the LDPE resin are supplied to the
The temperature when the LLDPE resin supplied to the first mixing section (section B) moves from the first mixing section (section B) to the extrusion section (section E) is melt-mixed and extruded exceeds the melting point (115-125°C) The LDPE resin supplied to the second mixing section (section D) moves through the second mixing section (section D) and the extruding section (section E), melt-mixing, and the temperature when extruded is the melting point (107~110°C) ), the first mixing section (B section), the pressure feeding section (C section), the second mixing section (D section) and the extruding section (E section) of the
As shown in FIG. 2 , first and second supply means 400 and 500 may be respectively installed at the discharging ends of the first and second sub screws 200 and 300 . The first and second supply means 400 and 500 are the first and second in order to effectively supply the LLDPE resin and the LDPE resin to the

The solid HDPE resin with the highest melting point among HDPE resin, LLDPE resin, and LDPE resin is supplied to the
The solid LLDPE resin having the second lowest melting point is supplied to the first sub-screw 200 through a hopper or the like. The LLDPE resin is melted to the softening point and supplied to the first mixing section (section B) of the
The first mixing section (section B) of the
The HDPE resin and LLDPE resin (hereinafter, referred to as "mixture") mixed in the first mixing section (section B) of the
The mixture moved to the second mixing section (D section) through the pressure feeding section (C section) of the
The second mixing part (section D) of the
The mixture and LDPE resin (hereinafter referred to as "PE composition") mixed in the second mixing section (section D) of the
The PE composition constituting the film is preferably composed of 30 to 40 parts by weight of the HDPE resin and 10 to 20 parts by weight of the LLDPE resin, based on 100 parts by weight of the LDPE resin. Because LDPE resin has good processability, is inexpensive, and has excellent impact strength and weather resistance at low temperatures, it is a standard component. In addition, LLDPE resin further improves impact strength, and HDPE resin improves processability.
With respect to 100 parts by weight of the LDPE resin, if the HDPE resin is less than 30 parts by weight, the tensile strength is weak, and if it exceeds 40 parts by weight, there is a problem of being vulnerable to stress cracking. In addition, when the LLDPE resin is less than 10 parts by weight, it is vulnerable to stress cracking, and when it exceeds 20 parts by weight, the impact strength is improved, but the tensile strength is weak and the workability is deteriorated.
As is well known, the film manufactured by extruding from the
After forming a pack having an opening on the film surface or on the surface of the pack, characters or figures can be printed using eco-friendly inks selected from water-based ink, EB curing ink, UV curing ink, biodegradable ink, and the like.

From Table 3, it can be seen that the ice packs of Preparation Examples 1 to 3 are superior to the ice packs of Comparative Example 1 in tensile strength, elongation, impact strength, and thermal bonding strength.
As described above, according to the present invention, since the pack is made of a single-layer structure only with polyethylene (PE) components, rather than a laminated structure or a laminated structure through an adhesive, it is separated and discharged after use and can be recycled only by mechanical treatment of simply crushing and melting. It is possible.
