Abstract
The present invention relates to a regeneration catalyst for a carbon dioxide absorbent. When the MAX phases material according to the present invention is used as a regeneration catalyst, the regeneration efficiency of the conventional alkanolamine-based absorbent is remarkably high. It is expected that the overall energy consumption can be greatly reduced, and a low regeneration temperature is also possible, thereby preventing the recovered carbon dioxide from being contaminated with moisture and absorbent vapor.
Description
The present invention relates to carbon dioxide capture, and more particularly, to a carbon dioxide absorption method with excellent economic efficiency of the entire capture process by using a carbon dioxide absorbent regeneration catalyst to increase the regeneration efficiency of separating carbon dioxide from an absorbent including carbon dioxide.
The most effective method for removing carbon dioxide from gases containing carbon dioxide, such as hydrogen, gas mixtures generated from steel and cement production processes, combustion flue gas emitted from power plants using fossil fuels, and natural gas, is chemical using an amine-based aqueous solution. absorption method is mentioned. As a chemical absorbent, aqueous amine solutions such as monoethanolamine (MEA), diethanolamine (DEA), and the like are the most studied. This is because these compounds are decomposed into carbon dioxide and amines by heat, so that the alkanolamine absorbent can be regenerated. However, this process presents several serious problems, in particular, deterioration of the absorbent performance due to the generation and decomposition of by-products by impurities such as NOx, SOx, and oxygen contained in the combustion exhaust gas, and device corrosion problems resulting therefrom, carbon dioxide and Due to the high thermal and chemical stability of the carbamate produced from the reaction of The problem of contamination of carbon dioxide separated in the regeneration process due to the low vapor pressure of the absorbent is pointed out as a disadvantage.
Among them, transition metals such as H-ZSM, γ-Al 2 O 3 , MoO 3 , V 2 O 5 , TiO(OH) 2 etc. are a method for solving the problem of excessive renewable energy consumption due to the regeneration temperature of 120℃ or higher. Documents using oxide catalysts have been reported. These metal oxides reduce the heat duty for amine regeneration, thereby showing the possibility of a regeneration temperature of 90 to 110 °C lower than the conventional 120 °C. However, the development of a catalyst that can be regenerated repeatedly and stably at 100°C or less is still a task to be solved.

For example, the carbon dioxide absorbent regeneration catalyst is a carbon dioxide absorbent containing carbon dioxide, such as an amine-based carbon dioxide absorbent, and separates carbon dioxide absorbed in monoethanolamine (MEA), diethanolamine (DEA), etc. from the absorbent, It could be degassing.
It includes the step of removing the absorbed carbon dioxide from the amine-based carbon dioxide absorbent by using the carbon dioxide absorbent regeneration catalyst of the present invention. These include flue gas, natural gas, and sewage treatment plant biogas.
CO2 Capture Method
In one embodiment of the present invention, there is provided a method for capturing carbon dioxide, comprising: absorbing carbon dioxide from a gas mixture containing carbon dioxide into a carbon dioxide absorbent solution; and removing the carbon dioxide absorbed in the carbon dioxide absorbent solution with a carbon dioxide absorbent regeneration catalyst including a MAX phase material.
In an embodiment, the carbon dioxide absorbent may include monoethanolamine (MEA) or diethanolamine (DEA).
In one embodiment, the content of the carbon dioxide absorbent regeneration catalyst may be 0.1 to 5 parts by weight based on 100 parts by weight of the carbon dioxide absorbent solution. For example, the content of the carbon dioxide absorbent regeneration catalyst may be 0.1 to 4 parts by weight, 0.1 to 3 parts by weight, 0.1 to 2 parts by weight, or 0.1 to 1 parts by weight based on 100 parts by weight of the carbon dioxide absorbent solution. If it is less than 0.1% by weight of the absorbent solution, the regeneration efficiency may be lowered, and if it is more than 5% by weight, there may be a problem in economic feasibility due to the excessive amount of catalyst.
In one embodiment, the absorption temperature of the step of absorbing the carbon dioxide in the carbon dioxide absorbent solution may be 10 to 60 ℃. In addition, the absorption pressure of the step of absorbing the carbon dioxide into the carbon dioxide absorbent solution may be atmospheric pressure to 30 atmospheres. In general, a gas mixture such as a power plant exhaust gas has a temperature in the range of 30 to 50° C. and is absorbed at normal pressure, and accordingly, when carbon dioxide is absorbed into the carbon dioxide absorbent solution at the absorption temperature and absorption pressure in the above range, the absorption efficiency is excellent, It can be economical because it does not require a separate treatment.
In one embodiment, the stripping temperature of the step of stripping the carbon dioxide may be 70 to 100 ℃.
For example, when removing the carbon dioxide absorbed by the carbon dioxide absorbent, the preferred temperature may be in the range of 60 °C to 140 °C, more preferably in the range of 70 °C to 100 °C. Also, the pressure may be normal pressure. If the stripping temperature is less than 70° C., stripping does not proceed, and when it exceeds 100° C., there is no significant difference from the temperature using the existing absorbent, so the advantages of the absorbent according to the present invention disappear. In addition, stripping is difficult to proceed at high pressure, which requires a high vapor pressure of water to maintain such a high pressure, so a high temperature is required, thereby lowering economic efficiency. Therefore, it is preferable to perform the stripping at normal pressure.
Among terms used in the specification of the present invention, “atmospheric pressure” is “atmospheric pressure” and means 1 atmosphere.
Hereinafter, the configuration of the present invention and its effects will be described in more detail through Examples and Comparative Examples. However, these examples are for explaining the present invention in more detail, and the scope of the present invention is not limited to these examples.

The solution was regenerated at 90° C. for 30 minutes using the carbon dioxide absorbent regeneration catalyst of Examples 1 to 3, and the reduction amount compared to the initial absorption amount by reabsorption of carbon dioxide was measured by measuring the initial carbon dioxide and the discharged concentration (gas analyzer and solution weight). change) was analyzed. The catalyst used for the repeated experiment was separated through centrifugation and reused repeatedly without drying.
