Abstract
The protective glass for a solar cell panel according to an embodiment of the present invention includes glass and a multi-layered coating layer positioned on one surface of the glass, and the roughness (Ra) of the other surface of the glass is 0.3 μm to 1.0 μm.
Description
The present invention relates to a protective glass for a solar cell panel, and more particularly, to a protective glass for a solar cell panel having a high transmittance and a hiding effect.
Polymer materials are mainly used to protect solar cell panels used in photovoltaic power generation, but glass is used for solar cell panels installed on exterior walls of buildings to protect the panels and secure a beautiful appearance. The glass for protecting the solar cell panel should have a hiding effect to prevent the solar cell from being seen from the outside while having high solar light transmittance. However, it is difficult to have high light transmittance and a hiding effect at the same time. This is because the improvement of the light transmittance and the high hiding effect have contradictory contradictions. In order to keep the light transmittance high, reflection from the glass should be reduced. In order to increase the hiding effect, the glass should be blurred by scattering light, or light of a specific wavelength should be scattered, reflected, or absorbed for color realization. Therefore, if the hiding effect is increased, the light transmittance is lowered, and the power generation efficiency of the solar cell is also lowered at the same time. In order to increase the hiding effect and minimize the decrease in light transmittance, the exposed glass surface is roughened through physical or chemical etching, so that light is scattered and the glass is cloudy. Glass that can pass through glass without being reflected even by light incident at an angle smaller than ° has been developed. Efforts are being made to maintain solar power generation efficiency by minimizing the light reflected by the coating layer even when color is applied to glass. However, in order to maintain the power generation efficiency of the solar cell, since the reflection of light due to the etching and coating of the glass is minimized, the hiding effect of the solar cell is not complete and the color is not close to the natural color.

With reference to the accompanying drawings, the embodiments of the present invention will be described in detail so that those of ordinary skill in the art to which the present invention pertains can easily implement them. However, the present invention may be embodied in many different forms and is not limited to the embodiments described herein.
Now, a protective glass for a solar cell panel according to an embodiment of the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the drawings.
The protective glass for a solar cell panel according to an embodiment of the present invention includes glass and a multi-layered coating layer located on one surface of the glass, and the roughness (Ra) of the other surface of the glass on which the coating layer is not located is 0.3 μm to 1.0 μm.
In this case, the surface having the roughness is the surface on which sunlight is incident. One surface on which the multi-layered coating layer is located may be a surface in contact with the solar cell. That is, on the surface bonded to the solar cell, a coating layer having a multilayer structure in which a coating layer such as an oxide or nitride having a relatively high refractive index and a coating layer such as an oxide or nitride having a relatively low refractive index are alternately stacked may be located. In addition, the opposite side where the glass is not bonded to the solar cell can be roughened by chemical etching. The etched glass may have a surface roughness (Ra) of 0.3 μm to 1.0 μm.
In this way, when a surface on which sunlight is incident has a roughness and a multi-layered coating layer is formed on the other surface, the solar cell hiding effect of the glass can be increased and the loss of power generation efficiency can be reduced.
In this embodiment, the multi-layered coating layer may include an oxide layer or a nitride layer. For example, each oxide layer may include one or more of Al 2 O 3 of SiO 2 , TiO 2 , Nb 2 O 5 , and ZrO 2 . In addition, the nitride layer may include Si 3 N 4 .
The multi-layered coating layer may be 2 to 9 layers. Depending on the embodiment, the number of layers of the coating layer may be appropriately adjusted. The coating layer may be coated using a vacuum coating method.
In one embodiment of the present invention, the total thickness of the protective glass for a solar cell panel may be 2 mm to 8 mm. The thickness includes both the thickness of the glass and the coating layer, and the total thickness may vary depending on the number of layers of the coating layer.
In one embodiment of the present invention, the glass may be low iron tempered glass. In this case, the visible light transmittance of the glass used may be about 90%. In addition, the glass may be tempered glass that has undergone a thermal strengthening process.
In one embodiment of the present invention, the one surface having the roughness of the glass may be formed by chemical etching. In this case, a fluorine-based etching solution may be used. Such chemical etching may be performed until the roughness (Ra) of the glass becomes 0.3 μm to 1.0 μm. A plurality of triangular pyramid-shaped structures may be formed on the etched glass surface by chemical etching.
Then, the improved effect of the protective glass for a solar cell panel according to an embodiment of the present invention will be described in detail below with reference to an experimental example.
After cutting the low-iron ordinary glass to a size of 200 * 200 mm, chemical etching was performed so that the surface roughness was Ra 0.55 ㎛. For the chemical etching, a fluorine-based etching solution was used. After the etched glass was strengthened in a heat treatment furnace, it was moved to a vacuum chamber, and SiO 2 and Nb 2 O 5 oxide were laminated on the non-etched surface in the order of SiO 2 / Nb 2 O 5 / SiO 2 / Nb 2 O 5 . . The total number of layers was 4 layers, and the thickness of each coating layer was 90/22/120/22 nm. The oxide-coated glass exhibited a blue color. In this experimental example, Nb 2 O 5 was used, but even if it was replaced with TiO 2 , a blue color could be realized. The surface-treated glass was thermally bonded with a solar cell panel and EVA to produce a solar power generation module. The produced solar cell panel was compared with a module made of ordinary glass using a power generation efficiency measuring device.
A module was fabricated by bonding a solar cell panel with a glass that was not laminated with oxides or nitrides in multiple layers by chemical etching. In addition, a physical etched glass was prepared and a multi-layered oxide or nitride was coated to fabricate a solar cell panel. Physical etching was performed using abrasives with grain sizes of #400, #800, and #1200. The produced solar cell panel was measured for power generation efficiency outdoors.
The etching methods and etching conditions in each Inventive Example and Comparative Example are summarized in Table 1 below.
[표 1][Table 1]
The transmittances of Comparative Examples 1 to 5 and Inventive Examples 1 and 2 etched under the conditions shown in Table 1 were measured, and are shown in FIG. 1 .
Referring to FIG. 1 , the transmittance of the low iron glass used in the present invention was 89.91%, and it can be seen that the transmittance increases as the particle size of the abrasive used for physical etching decreases. In addition, it can be seen that some of the chemically etched glass exhibits higher transmittance than the pre-etched glass. This is because the transmittance of light having an incident angle of less than 90° as well as straight light is increased by chemical etching. In addition, when the light transmitted through the etching surface is reflected inside the glass, it is because the irregular etching surface by chemical etching transmits the reflected light again.
2 is a result of measuring the surface roughness with respect to Comparative Examples 1 to 5, Inventive Examples 1 and 2. Referring to FIG. 2 , it can be seen that the roughness of the glass physically etched with #400 and #800 is relatively high. The chemically etched glass exhibited a Ra value of 0.29 μm to 0.56 μm.
3 is a surface micrograph of Comparative Examples 1 to 5, Inventive Examples 1 and 2. Referring to FIG. 3 , in the case of physically etched glass, it can be seen that the glass surface is irregularly etched and some glass is broken. On the other hand, it can be seen that the chemically etched glass has a different size but an irregular structure. In addition, it can be seen that the size of the amorphous structures of Inventive Examples 1 and 2 is smaller than that of Comparative Example 5 even with the same chemical etching.
4 is a result of Haze measurement for Comparative Examples 1 to 5, Inventive Examples 1 and 2. Referring to FIG. 4 , it was confirmed that the unetched glass and Comparative Example 5 had relatively small haze values. In addition, it was confirmed that the chemically etched glass of Inventive Examples 1 and 2 had a larger Haze value than the physically etched glass of Comparative Examples 2 to 4. This shows that the present invention example has a higher solar cell hiding effect than the comparative example.
5 is a transmittance measured after applying a blue color coating for Comparative Examples 1 to 5 and Inventive Examples 1 and 2; Table 2 summarizes the structure of the coating layer used in the present invention, and the thickness and material of each coating layer.
[표 2][Table 2]
As shown in Table 2, various colors can be implemented by changing the coating layer thickness, material, and arrangement. In the present invention, blue (blue) was used to prepare the specimens of Inventive Examples and Examples, and the properties were compared.
Referring to FIG. 5 , it was confirmed that the glass coated with only coating without etching showed the lowest transmittance, and the invention example had transmittance of 85% or more.
6 is a result of measuring the power generation efficiency of a panel manufactured by bonding the glass of the invention example and the comparative example with a solar cell. Comparative Example 1 is a glass that does not include both etching and coating layers, and Comparative Example 1 was used as a reference for measuring power generation efficiency. When the power generation efficiency of Comparative Example 1 was taken as 100%, the physically etched glass showed a power generation efficiency of 71.57%, showing the lowest power generation efficiency among the comparative groups. Referring to FIGS. 4 and 6 at the same time, it was confirmed that Comparative Example 5 had the highest power generation efficiency, but had a low concealment effect, and that the Inventive Example had relatively high power generation efficiency and concealment effect.
Table 3 summarizes the physical properties of Comparative Examples and Inventive Examples in the experiments described above. Referring to Table 3, it was confirmed that the present invention example had a high haze while having an excellent transmittance compared to the comparative example, and thus had an excellent efficiency and a hiding effect.
