Description
The embodiment relates to an energy storage device control technique, and more particularly, to an apparatus and method for controlling an energy storage device.
As the number and scale of new and renewable energy sources (distributed power) connected to the power system increases and the scale increases, the demand for improving the quality of power generated therefrom, and the energy storage device ( The spread of Energy Storage System: ESS) is expanding.
The approximate capacity of the trunk line of a distribution system with a line-to-line voltage of 22.9kV is 10MVA~15MVA, while there are a number of lines in which the amount of load currently used exceeds this. This is a situation where it is necessary to expand the application of energy storage devices in order to prevent overloading of lines by utilizing energy storage devices.
For this reason, the proportion of energy storage devices in the system is increasing, but it is impossible to optimize operation reflecting the real-time status of the system because the system and active/reactive power are supplied and supplied based on the charge/discharge schedule of the energy storage device. In addition, the Power Conditioning System (PCS) constituting the energy storage device cannot measure the line current of the system due to a structural limitation, so it is impossible to self-act according to the situation of the power system.
