The wearable device, which is small and lightly developed to be worn on a user's body or clothing, and is easily used and communicated by a user in close proximity, is actively being developed as a core field of the 4th industrial revolution. Such wearable devices have the advantage of being able to detect the user's state or the surrounding environment in real time, and thus are receiving much attention in the sensor field. Among wearable sensors, a wearable chemical sensor capable of detecting gas components in recent years can be applied to detect harmful components of the environment. Among the components of the wearable gas sensor, the most important core element is a sensing layer capable of detecting gas, and since such a sensing layer is made of fibers, actual clothing and weaving should be possible. A woven fiber-type sensing layer capable of monitoring the air environment around the user without any restrictions on movement is an essential element in the development of an optimized wearable sensor.
Nitrogen oxides (NOx) are the main substances in air pollution that are generated when nitrogen components are burned in contact with oxygen in the air. When reacted with water in the atmosphere, nitric acid is produced, which is a major factor in acid rain, which causes dermatitis and hair loss. As a major cause of fine dust, which has recently emerged as a serious national concern, it may cause respiratory and cardiovascular diseases. Therefore, social interest in the monitoring of nitrogen oxides is steadily increasing, and there is a need to develop a wearable nitrogen oxide sensor that can be monitored in real time in everyday life.
The mainstream of the conventional nitrogen oxide sensor is a metal oxide-based metal oxide (nanofiber or nanoparticle), which is mainly nano-structured to develop a sensing layer in the form of a mat. This type of Mat mainly requires a support layer, and even if it is freestanding, it has a film shape, so it is impossible to weave with real fibers. In order to apply it as a wearable sensor, it has to be attached separately to the woven fabric, so it has the limitation of poor flexibility and adhesiveness.
The gas sensor in the form of a woven fiber was mainly used as a sensing layer by coating a conductive material with an adhesive on an existing fiber surface such as nylon, cotton, and polyester. Although it is in the spotlight as the most realistic method, the problem of cost increase occurs by the addition of additional processes such as adhesive application and conductor coating. Technically, even if an adhesive is used, the adhesive force between the existing fiber and the conductor is reduced, and the amount of the conductor to be coated is limited. Due to this, the resistance value is quite high, so the power consumption is large, so there is a limit to the application of a wearable sensor that requires low power. For example, in order to attach graphene oxide using an adhesive to an existing fiber and utilize it as a conductor, various processes such as chemical reduction are added. In addition, the reduced graphene oxide of the conductor has a very high resistance and is not suitable for wearable devices.

Hereinafter, the present invention will be described in detail.
In one aspect, the technology disclosed herein provides a nitrogen oxide sensing sensor comprising a composite fiber formed by combining nanocellulose and carbon nanotubes.
The composite fiber according to the present specification is a composite of heterogeneous materials and can be used as a fiber sensing layer for a nitrogen oxide wearable sensor that can be woven. The composite fiber is composed of functional nanomaterials of nanocellulose and carbon nanotubes, not a method in which a sensing layer is coated on an existing fiber. Since it is not a coating method, there is no hassle in the process of applying an adhesive and adhering a conductive material, and the resistance value is low, so it is suitable for wearable devices.
The carbon nanotubes constituting the composite fiber inherently possess conductivity, and thus do not require a post-treatment process such as heat treatment or chemical treatment for conductive reduction of graphene oxide fibers as in the prior art. In addition, due to the reduction in the mechanical strength of the fiber by the reduction process, it is also improved the problem that it is difficult to weave with the actual fiber, thereby retaining the flexibility and mechanical strength that can be woven with other fibers. The composite fiber has a sensitivity of 3% or more even at 1 ppm nitrogen oxide.
In one exemplary embodiment, the nanocellulose may be separated from the shell of the sea shell.
In the case of nanocellulose extracted from the sea shell, it becomes an aqueous dispersion and has a lyotropic liquid crystal property in which a liquid crystal phase appears above a certain concentration. Accordingly, it is possible to manufacture a dope (> 10 mg/mL) for wet spinning with a very high concentration, so that liquid crystal spinning fibers capable of continuous production can be produced.
In addition, the nanocellulose extracted from the sea shell can be used as a dispersing agent for carbon nanotubes to disperse the carbon nanotubes in water. Therefore, a liquid crystal dope (> 10 mg (weight sum of the two substances)/mL) in which the two substances are mixed can be formed, and the nanocellulose/carbon nanotube composite fiber can be continuously produced by a general wet spinning method.
In an exemplary embodiment, the nanocellulose may have a diameter of 10 to 20 nm and a length of 1,000 nm or more.
In one exemplary embodiment, the carbon nanotubes may be one or more selected from the group consisting of single-walled carbon nanotubes, double-walled carbon nanotubes, multi-walled carbon nanotubes, and multi-walled carbon nanotubes.
In one exemplary embodiment, the composite fiber may be formed from a wet spinning dope comprising nanocellulose and carbon nanotubes.
In one exemplary embodiment, the wet spinning dope may be one having a lyotropic liquid crystal.
In an exemplary embodiment, the composite fiber may be 50 wt% or less, or 0.001 to 50 wt% of carbon nanotubes, based on the weight of nanocellulose. When the content of carbon nanotubes exceeds 50 wt% based on the weight of nanocellulose, the dispersion of carbon nanotubes in the nanocellulose aqueous solution is difficult and the liquid crystal phase does not appear, so that the formation of composite fibers may be difficult.
In one exemplary embodiment, the composite fiber may have a very wide and open pore structure with a specific surface area. Open porous structure (open porous strcture) refers to a structure having a pore capable of gas permeation to the surface or the composite fiber. Unlike other types of nanocellulose, the liquid crystal spinning fiber made from nanocellulose extracted from the shells has a high specific surface area because it has an open pore structure. Carbon nanotubes are also flexible cylinder structures with nanometer diameters, so the open pore structure can be well maintained within the composite fibers. This open pore structure is suitable for gas sensing because it can easily penetrate gas molecules and adsorb a lot.
In one exemplary embodiment, the composite fiber may be woven with other fibers.
In the nitrogen oxide detection sensor including the composite fiber according to the present specification, the nitrogen oxide detection layer is made of a fiber having high flexibility and mechanical strength, so that it can be woven by actual clothing and general weaving method, and the user is not restricted by movement at all. You can monitor the air environment around you. In the woven form, since it has a nitrogen oxide detection characteristic for various nitrogen oxide concentration regions, it can be used as a wearable sensor material.
In one exemplary embodiment, the other fiber may be one or more selected from the group consisting of cotton fiber, polyester fiber, nylon fiber, acetate fiber, acrylic fiber and rayon fiber.
In one exemplary embodiment, the composite fiber may have an electrical resistance value of 20 Ω or less.
In one exemplary embodiment, the nitrogen oxide detection sensor may be a wearable sensor. The nitrogen oxide detection sensor according to the present specification includes a composite fiber having excellent flexibility as a sensing layer, and is woven together with fibers such as clothing, and can be worn. Furthermore, the composite fiber sensor according to the present specification is very suitable as a wearable sensor by securing electrical conductivity stability even with numerous bending and various mechanical deformation levels.
In another aspect, the technology disclosed herein is a method of manufacturing the nitrogen oxide sensing sensor, comprising: 1) preparing a nanocellulose aqueous solution; 2) preparing a dispersion by adding carbon nanotubes to the aqueous solution; And 3) spinning the dispersion to prepare a composite fiber of nanocellulose and carbon nanotubes.

In an exemplary embodiment, in step 2), the carbon nanotubes may be introduced in an amount corresponding to 0.001 to 50 wt% based on the weight of nanocellulose.
In an exemplary embodiment, the step of manufacturing the composite fiber in step 3) may be to prepare a composite fiber by wet spinning the dispersion concentrate obtained by concentrating the dispersion. The method of manufacturing the composite fiber can manufacture a very economical wearable sensor by continuously manufacturing a composite fiber composed of nanocellulose and carbon nanotubes like a normal fiber in a single wet spinning process.

Aqueous solution preparation
Other organs, such as lignin and protein, were removed from the shell of the sea urchin as follows, and nanocellulose was extracted and used in the experiment.
First, the intestinal shell with the intestines removed is finely chopped using a machine such as grinding, and then the crushed shell is added to 200 mL of 5% potassium hydroxide based on 1 g of mechanically crushed snails and stirred for 12 hours at room temperature. The mechanical strength of the prepared Comparative Examples and Examples 1, 2, and 3 fibers was measured using fiber-specific favimat (FAVIMAT-AIROBOT2, Textechno, Germany). To obtain a stable tensile strength value, the fiber elongation rate was set to 2 mm per minute and the length of the fiber was reliably measured to 20 mm.
실험예Experimental Example 2. 2. Measurement of electrical resistance
In order to measure the electrical resistance of the composite fibers according to Examples 1 to 3 prepared by mixing CNTs, it was used in a method of bonding on a silicon oxide (SiO 2 ) substrate including a gold (Au) electrode. As a physical binding method using a conductive binder, attempts were made to connect nanocellulose/CNT composite fibers having a one-dimensional structure between gold electrodes printed at 100 micrometer (μm) intervals. The conductive binder utilized a solution in which silver (Ag) was dispersed, and was electrically connected between the nanocellulose/CNT-based composite fiber and the gold electrode printed on the top of the silicon oxide substrate. The conductive binder was dried in a vacuum oven at 60° C. for 1 hour to remove the solvent.
3. Evaluation of nitrogen oxide detection characteristics
The evaluation of nitrogen dioxide sensing characteristics using the nanocellulose/CNT composite fiber combined with the electrode on the top of the silicon oxide substrate was conducted as follows. The fabricated sensor was subjected to a stabilization process by flowing nitrogen for about 1 hour in a measuring chamber at room temperature of 20°C, and then the sensing characteristics were evaluated by sequentially flowing nitrogen dioxide corresponding to 0.125 ppm to 5 ppm. The sensitivity of the sensor was measured by changing the resistance when a certain humidity was passed, and the Agilent 34970A model was used to measure the resistance. A voltage corresponding to about 0.5 V to 1.5 V was automatically applied to the electrodes at both ends. In addition, the sensitivity to gas is defined as'S', and is expressed as S=[(R NO2 -R b )/R b ]×100%. Here, R b means the resistance during which the sensor is stabilized in a nitrogen atmosphere, and R NO2 means the resistance of the sensor that appears according to the relative humidity being injected. The sensor sensitivity characteristic evaluation was measured while 0.125 ppm to 5 ppm nitrogen dioxide was injected for 5 minutes, and after each nitrogen dioxide injection, it was recovered by maintaining it in a nitrogen environment for 15 minutes.
Evaluation of nitrogen oxide detection characteristics of composite fibers
Nanocellulose/CNT composite fibers combined with nylon fibers, which are general fibers, were also evaluated for sensor sensing characteristics. Using a forceps such as tweezers, nanocellulose/CNT fibers were stitched through the weaving holes of the normal fibers, and repeated to make contact with the normal fibers to fabricate the combined sensor material fibers. At this time, by using a solution in which silver is dispersed, such as binding to the silicon oxide substrate for measurement, a fiber portion having conductivity in which electrodes can be measured at both ends of the composite fiber was prepared. Subsequently, in Experimental Example 3, nitrogen oxide sensing characteristics of nanocellulose/CNT composite fibers combined with general fibers were measured in the same manner as when measuring the sensing characteristics of composite fibers using a silicon oxide substrate.
Fig. 1 shows a transmission electron microscope photograph of nanocellulose extracted from the sea shell. The diameter of the nanocellulose is about 10 to 20 nm, and the length is at least 1000 nm, confirming that it is a fibril type nanostructure.
As shown in Figure 2, the nanocellulose is very well dispersed in the aqueous phase (5 mg/mL) and has a white color as shown in the photo. Observing the aqueous solution of nanocellulose with a polarizing microscope at the same concentration can confirm birefringence, which shows the characteristics of mammary liquid crystal.
In addition, when 20 wt% of carbon nanotubes based on the weight of nanocellulose was added to a 5 mg/mL nanocellulose aqueous solution (Example 3), the color of the solution was changed to black, and it was visually confirmed that it was evenly dispersed without precipitation of any solute. Did. The presence or absence of a liquid crystal phase was observed through a polarization microscope observation in a more accurate method. The breast-like liquid crystal phase appears only when the dispersion is most optimized. Even when carbon nanotubes are added, the liquid crystal phase is continuously observed without phase separation, confirming that the two materials are evenly dispersed. As described above, a high concentration of nanocellulose and carbon nanotubes highly dispersed without precipitation of a solute was obtained using a liquid crystal phase, and the composite fiber could be produced by utilizing this as a wet spinning dope. The highly dispersed state facilitates bonding between the carbon nanotubes, thereby enabling a path through which electrons can flow on the fiber.

In the comparative example, as a result of visually comparing the nanocellulose liquid crystal spinning fiber prepared by the wet spinning method with the nanocellulose/carbon nanotube composite fiber of Example 3, as shown in FIG. 3, the liquid crystal spinning fiber of the comparative example shows white, , It was confirmed that the composite fibers of Example 3 in which carbon nanotubes were added exhibit a black color.
Results 4.
As a result of observing the composite fibers of the nanocellulose/carbon nanotubes prepared in Example 3 with a scanning electron microscope, it was confirmed that the composite fibers maintained the fiber shape well, and the surface was smooth through high magnification (x50000) observation. It was confirmed that it has an open pore structure that is not covered with numerous pores (see FIG. 4). The nitrogen oxide sensor according to the present specification has an effect of improving the sensor sensitivity by adsorbing gas molecules well through such an open pore structure.

As a result of measuring the mechanical tensile strength for the composite fibers of Examples 1 to 3 in which the content of the nanocellulose fibers and carbon nanotubes of the comparative examples prepared above were measured, it was confirmed that the average values of 120, 170, 200, and 230 MPa, respectively, were confirmed. (See Figure 6). When the carbon nanotubes having good mechanical properties are contained, the strength of the composite fiber immediately increases, and the mechanical strength increases as the content of the carbon nanotubes increases. The elongation was also increased in the same manner as the tensile strength, and in Example 3, the tendency to decrease again, but still showed a higher elongation than nanocellulose fibers, confirming that the mechanical strength was excellent.

As a result of measuring the electrical resistance of the nanocellulose/carbon nanotube composite fibers prepared in Examples 1 to 3, it was confirmed that the average values of 16, 5, and 3 Ω, respectively, were shown as shown in FIG. 7 (channel length). 0.5 cm). The nanocellulose derived from the sea shell is an insulator that does not conduct electricity because of its very high resistance. The composite fiber according to the present specification can directly impart electrical conductivity without any additional treatment process by adding carbon nanotubes to the nanocellulose derived from the scab shell, and the electrical resistance value of the composite fiber can be adjusted by controlling the content of the input. . By easily controlling the electrical conductivity of the composite fiber by adjusting the amount of carbon nanotubes injected, the composite fiber can be utilized as a nitrogen oxide sensor material whose electrical signal changes according to various nitrogen oxide concentration regions without any post-treatment process. Was confirmed.

As a result, the bending level of the composite fiber was fixed to 2.7 mm, 1.6 mm, and 0.8 mm, and when it was bent over 10,000 times, the change in resistance value was within 5% and maintained an almost constant value. Through this, the electrical conductivity stability against mechanical deformation was confirmed, and it was found that the composite fiber according to the present specification was very suitable for a wearable device requiring various mechanical deformation environments.
