Description
실시양태는 일반적으로 자가 오염제거 표면의 형성을 위한 화학적 조성물 및 방법에 관한 것이다. 특정 실시양태에서, 화학적 조성물은 광촉매를 포함한다. 특정 실시양태에서, 광촉매는 산화티타늄 잔기를 포함한다. 특정 실시양태에서, 화학적 조성물은 이산화티타늄 잔기의 필름 형태의 정전기적 침착물로서 도포된다.
산화티타늄 (예를 들어, TiO2)은 도료, 종이, 플라스틱 및 치약에 널리 사용되는 비독성 물질이다. 알칼리 수산화물을 수성 티타늄 염 용액에 첨가하여 무정형 티타늄 퍼옥시드 졸을 생성할 수 있는 것으로 당업계에 공지되어 있다. 티타늄 퍼옥시드 졸은 수성 과산화수소 용액과 반응하여 무정형 티타늄 퍼옥시드 졸을 생성하고, 이어서 고온으로 가열되어 아나타제 산화티타늄을 얻을 수 있다.

본 출원인의 조성물 및 방법의 한 실시양태에서, 산화성 안료를 포함하는 산화티타늄 코팅은 정전기적 분무기를 사용하여 표면 상에 실질적으로 균일한 자가-오염제거 코팅을 생성한다.

실시예 I
2 제곱 인치의 포마이카 (포마이카는 멜라민 열경화 수지로 함침된 수층의 크래프트지로 이루어지며 멜라민에 의해 보호된 장식 층을 위에 놓고 이어서 가압하고 열 경화시켜 단단하고 내구성 있는 표면을 만든 장식 제품을 지칭함) 쿠폰을 비누 및 물, 및 이어서 이소프로필 알콜로 세정하였다. 제1 시험군 쿠폰을 본 출원인의 방법을 사용하여 처리하고, 여기서 각각의 시험 쿠폰을 우선 3.6 중량% 오르가노실란 1을 포함하는 수성 혼합물을 사용하여 정전기적으로 코팅하였다. 약 십오 (15)분 후, 각각의 이들 제1 시험 쿠폰을 이어서 TiO2의 수성 3 중량% 콜로이드 현탁액을 사용하여 정전기적으로 코팅하였다.
제2 시험군 쿠폰을 TiO2의 수성 3 중량% 콜로이드 현탁액을 사용하여 정전기적으로 코팅하였다. 제3 시험군 쿠폰을 3.6 중량% 오르가노실란 1을 포함하는 수성 혼합물을 사용하여 정전기적으로 코팅하였다. 시험 쿠폰의 대조군은 코팅하지 않았다.
이어서 코팅된 시험 쿠폰을 메티실린-내성 스타필로코쿠스 아우레우스(Staphylococcus aureus) ("MRSA") 접종을 사용하고, 동적 접촉 조건 하에서 고정된 항균제의 항미생물 활성을 결정하는 ASTM E2149 - 10 표준 시험 방법에 따라 평가하였다. 하기 표 1은 4개의 각각의 시험군 쿠폰에 대해 초기 MRSA 수준, 3시간 후 MRSA 수준, 3시간 후 잔류 % MRSA 및 LOG 사멸을 열거한다.

실시예 II
감기, 독감, 설사 및 다른 일반적인 감염의 일반적인 전염 경로는 감염성 미생물 (병원체)로 오염된 표면과의 접촉이다. 오염은 기침 및 재채기로부터의 액적이 표면 상에 떨어지는 것에 의해, 및 병원체로 오염된 손으로 표면을 만지는 것에 의해 발생한다. 병원체는 이어서 동일한 표면을 만지는 다음 사람의 손을 오염시키고, 그들이 손을 그의 눈, 코 또는 구강으로 가져갈 때 감염이 초래될 수 있다.
대중 교통 시스템은 매일 다수의 사람들이 공간을 공유하고 시스템 운송수단 내에 설치된 표면과 접촉하는 환경을 만든다. 영국에서의 최근 연구는 사람들이 5일 이전에 버스 또는 시내전차에 탔었던 경우에 사람들에게 호흡기 감염 (감기 및 독감)이 증가했다는 것을 입증하였다.
표면 상으로의 소독제의 적용은 학교에서 결석 및 질병을 감소시킴을 보여주었다. 불행히도, 표면은 정기적으로 소독하여야만 효과적이다. 효과적인 잔류 특성을 제공하는 선행 기술 방법은 존재하지 않는다. 선행 기술 방법과 크게 다르게, 본 출원인의 방법은 표면 잔류물을 생성하고, 따라서, 심지어 표면이 재오염되는 경우에도, 병원체 전염을 감소시키는데 계속 효과적이다.
캘리포니아-거점 대중 교통 당국과 함께 공공 버스의 박테리아 오염을 이 연구에서 특성화하였으며, 실험실 분석을 공공 공간에서의 미생물 오염물에 대한 노출 및 냄새의 최소화에 대한 본 출원인의 방법의 효능을 결정하는데 사용하였다.
14대의 버스를 선정하고 2개의 군으로 나누고; 1개의 군은 본 출원인의 방법으로 처리된 7대의 버스의 "실험" 군; 1개의 군을 일상적인 수송 시스템 처리를 받은 7대의 버스의 "대조" 군이었다. 어떠한 처리도 하기 전에, 각각의 버스에 대해 기준 프로파일을 설정하기 위해 2개의 군의 버스는 종속영양 박테리아에 대해 시험되었다. 각각의 버스에 대해 4자리 코드를 기록하였다.
샘플을 각각의 14대의 버스에서 5개의 위치: 출입 난간, 요금함, 운전석, 내부 난간 및 의자 뒷부분에서 채취하였다. 샘플을 일과 후 버스가 환승 시설로 돌아온 후 야간 유지보수 근무자가 버스를 청소하기 전에 채취하였다.
샘플링하는 영역 상에 있을 수 있는 임의의 소독제를 중화시키기 위해 중화액을 함유하는 스폰지스틱(Spongestick) (3M, 미국 미네소타주 세인트 폴)을 사용하여 위치를 샘플링하였다. 버스에서 각각 선정된 위치에서 대략 150 cm2의 표면을 샘플링하였다.
모든 샘플을 무작위의 숫자 코드로 라벨링된 개별 백에 넣었다. 이러한 절차는 미생물 실험실의 연구원들이 어떤 샘플이 어떤 버스에 속하는 것인지 모르게 하는 데에 사용되었으며, 따라서 블라인드 연구가 설정되었다. 일단 실험실이 배양 결과를 제공하면, 코드를 사용하여 적절한 버스 및 이들 버스 내의 위치에 값을 배정하였다.
종속영양 박테리아 (HPC)의 수를 R2A 매질 (디프코(Difco), 미국 매릴랜드주 스팍스) 상에서 확산평판법을 사용하여 결정하였다. 샘플을 희석물의 검정을 위해 생리 염수를 사용하여 희석하였다. 모든 희석물을 2회 검정하였다. 한천 판을 이어서 실온에서 5일 동안 인큐베이션하고, 생성된 박테리아의 콜로니를 계수하였다.
데이터베이스를 개발하고, 조사로부터 수집된 모든 데이터 및 실험실 분석 데이터를 데이터베이스에 입력하였다. 데이터를 log 변환하고, 데이터에 대해 다중 분석 해석 (ANOVA)을 수행하여 인구통계와 표면 및 그의 사용의 특성 사이의 관계를 평가하였다.
완전히 무작위화한 설계를 사용하여, F 분포를 사용하는 5%의 배제 영역으로 ANOVA를 수행하였다. 박테리아의 분포가 정상적으로 분포되지 않기 때문에 (즉, 벨 형상의 분포 커브), 이를 분석 전에 log 변환시켰다.
log 변환은 박테리아의 산술적 수의 log10 (즉, 100 = 2, 1,000 = 3, 등)으로의 전환이다. 기하 평균값 (평균)을 이어서 결정하였다.
이 절차에 따라 기준선 데이터를 설정하고, 7대의 버스의 실험 군을 본 출원인의 방법으로 처리하였다. 30일 마지막에, 동일한 2개의 버스 군 (실험군 및 대조군)을 시험하여 생성물 효과를 시험하였다.
경질 표면 상의 전체 박테리아 수 또는 종속영양 박테리아를 공공 표면의 위생처리 및 표면의 세정 및 소독의 효과의 일반적 측정수단으로서 사용하였다. 150 cm2당 박테리아의 수는 시험된 표면 상에서 80 내지 17,200,000의 범위였다. 이 연구에 사용된 버스에서의 박테리아의 기하 평균 수를 표 2에 나타내었다.
기하 평균은 높은 값 및 낮은 값을 정규화한 것으로서 항상 산술 평균보다 낮다. 통계적 분석은 처리를 위해 선정된 버스 및 연구의 초기에 없었던 버스 (기준선 데이터)에서 박테리아의 수에서의 통계적 차이가 없음을 가리켰다.

30일 후, 표 3A에 기록된 데이터는 처리된 버스 및 처리되지 않은 버스에서 박테리아의 기하 평균 수의 차이에 유의차 (p = 0.005), 즉 99.95% 확률이 있었음을 나타낸다. 처리 후 30일에 처리된 버스에서의 박테리아의 수는 처리되지 않은 버스에서 발견된 것보다 유의하게 적었다. 평균적으로, 처리되지 않은 버스에 비해 처리된 버스에서 표면상에 93% 더 적은 박테리아가 존재하였다.

표 3A의 결과는 처리된 버스와 처리되지 않은 버스의 [버스] 내부에서의 박테리아 로드 사이의 유의차를 나타낸다. 입구 레일을 제외하고는, 모든 처리된 부위에서의 박테리아의 존재량은 처리되지 않은 부위에 비해 감소하였다.
처리된 버스 및 처리되지 않은 버스에서 시험한 특정한 부위에서의 박테리아의 농도는 하기 표 4에 나타나져 있다. 처리된 버스와 처리되지 않은 버스 사이에서의 박테리아 수는 운전자실에서 가장 큰 차이를 나타내었고, 처리된 버스에서 99.8% 박테리아보다 적은 박테리아가 존재하였다. 이러한 차이는 매우 유의한 것이었다 (p = 0.007).
입구 레일상에서 승객 접촉 마찰로부터의 과도한 마모 및 인열은 본 출원인의 코팅이 위치하는 곳에서 이를 제거한 것으로 나타났다. 표 3B에는 분리물로서 이러한 부위 (입구 레일)가 제외된 실험 데이터가 기재되어 있다.
30일 후, 이러한 제외된 부위에서, 처리된 버스 및 처리되지 않은 버스에서의 박테리아의 기하 평균 수에서 유의차 (p = 0.001, 즉 99.99%의 확률로 차이가 있음) (표 3B)가 존재하였다. 평균적으로, 처리되지 않은 버스에 비해 처리된 버스의 표면상에서 97% 더 적은 박테리아가 존재하였다.

본 실시예 II는 연구의 시작시 연구에서 선택된 버스들에서의 박테리아의 수준 사이의 통계적인 차이가 없었음을 보여준다. 본 실시예 II는 사용한지 30일 후 처리되지 않은 버스에 비해 처리된 버스의 내부에서 박테리아의 농도가 유의하게 적었음을 또한 보여준다. 평균적으로, 처리되지 않은 표면의 동일한 표면에 비해 처리된 버스의 내부 표면상에서 97% 더 적은 박테리아가 존재하였다.
특정 실시양태에서, 본 출원인의 방법은 산화가능한 안료와 조합된 TiO2를 이용한다. 특정 실시양태에서, 산화가능한 안료는 메틸렌 블루, 하기 화학식 10의 화합물을 포함한다. TiO2는 통상적인 분사 수단 또는 정전기 분사 장치 (총칭적으로, "분사 장치")를 사용하여 기재상에 침착된다. TiO2 입자로 코팅된 기재의 부분은 산화가능한 안료의 색을 시각적으로 나타낸다. 예를 들어, TiO2 입자/메틸렌 블루 혼합물로 코팅된 기재의 부분은 시각적으로 청색으로 보인다.

티타늄 (IV) 이소프로폭시드의 첨가시, 빙조를 제거하였다. 대략 10분 동안 용액은 용액으로 유지되었고, 이후 투명한 겔이 되었고 계속해서 불투명해졌다 (백색이 되었다). 겔을 밤새 RT에서 교반하였다. 젤라틴성 물질을 물, 또는 이소프로판올 및 물과 혼합하고, 이어서 유리 표면상에 캐스팅하여 상부에 코팅을 형성하였다. 특정 실시양태에서, 본 실시예 II의 본 출원인의 코팅은 타르타르산/티타늄 이소프로폭시드 반복 단위 11A를 포함하며, 여기서 (r)은 1 내지 약 10이다. 특정 실시양태에서, 본 실시예 II의 본 출원인의 코팅은 타르타르산/티타늄 이소프로폭시드 부가물 11B를 포함한다.

도 3 및 도 4는 유리 표면 상에 형성된 코팅의 이미지를 나타낸다. 도 3은 50 마이크로미터에서의 원자력 현미경 화상이다. 도 4는 10x 대물렌즈의 투과 기하학을 사용한 광학 이미지이다.
특정 실시양태에서, 본 출원인은 4급 암모늄 염을 포함하는 실란 알콕시드 5를 사용한다. 특정 실시양태에서, R5는 알킬 기 및 옥시알킬로부터 선택된다. 특정 실시양태에서, R6는 알킬, 알케닐, 페닐, 및 벤질로 이루어진 군으로부터 선택된다. 특정 실시양태에서, R7은 알킬, 알케닐, 페닐, 및 벤질로 이루어진 군으로부터 선택된다. 특정 실시양태에서, R8은 알킬, 알케닐, 페닐, 및 벤질로 이루어진 군으로부터 선택된다. 특정 실시양태에서, R8은 C18 알킬을 포함한다.
특정 실시양태에서, 화합물 5의 한 실시양태는 콜린 12 및 실릴 에스테르 13으로 (p)가 1 내지 약 5이고, R이 메틸 및 에틸로 이루어진 군으로부터 선택되는 암모늄 실릴 에스테르 14를 형성하여 제조한다.
특정 실시양태에서, 본 출원인의 방법으로 티타늄 알콕시드 단량체 2 및 실란 알콕시드 단량체 5를 사용하여 중합체 물질 6 및/또는 중합체 물질 8을 제조한다.
특정 실시양태에서, 본 출원인은 티타늄 알콕시드 7을 사용하여 자가-오염제거 코팅을 제조한다.
특정 실시양태에서, q는 1 내지 약 10이다. 특정 실시양태에서, R10은 제1 주파수와는 상이한 제2 주파수를 갖는 전자기 방사선을 방출하는 제1 주파수를 갖는 전자기 방사선의 노출 상에서의 발색단을 포함한다. 특정 실시양태에서, 제1 주파수는 자외선 스펙트럼 내에 있고 제2 주파수는 가시 스펙트럼 내에 있다. 당업자에게는 인간의 눈이 약 390 내지 750 nm의 파장에 반응할 것이라는 것이 명백할 것이다.
특정 실시양태에서, R10은 UV 조사 상에서, 가시 스펙트럼에서의 광을 방출하는 트리스시클로금속화 이리듐(III) 물질을 포함한다. 그래프 1은 3개의 상이한 트리스시클로금속화 이리듐(III) 물질에 대한 발광 스펙트럼을 나타낸다.

본 출원인의 방법은 n이 약 1 내지 10이고, m은 약 1 내지 10이며, p는 약 1 내지 10인, 실릴 에스테르 말단기를 포함하는 중합체 물질 6 및/또는 중합체 물질 8을 포함하는 코팅 조성물을 형성하고, 기질 상에 코팅 조성물을 주조하여 상기 기질 상에 자가-오염제거 표면을 형성하는 것을 포함한다. 본 출원인의 방법은 n이 약 1 내지 10이고, m이 약 1 내지 10이며, p가 약 1 내지 10인, 티타닐 에스테르 말단기를 포함하는 중합체 물질 6 및/또는 중합체 물질 8을 포함하는 코팅 조성물을 형성하고, 기질 상에 코팅 조성물을 주조하여 상기 기질 상에 자가-오염제거 표면을 형성하는 것을 포함한다.
특정 실시양태에서, 본 출원인의 코팅 조성물을 가요성의 평평한 멤버로 실시하여 복합 살균 와이프(composite disinfecting wipe)을 형성한다. 본 출원인의 복합 살균 와이프는 손잡이, 카운터톱, 변좌, 바닥, 층, 벽 등과 같은 사람이 접촉하는 통상의 표면 상에 콜로니를 형성하는 원하지 않는 미생물, 예를 들어, 박테리아, 금형, 바이러스, 프리온 등을 동시에 사멸시키면서 고형 표면으로부터의 잔류물을 세척 및 제거할 수 있다.
본 발명의 바람직한 실시양태를 자세히 설명하였지만, 이러한 실시양태에 대한 변형 및 적응이 본원에 설명한 본 발명의 범위를 벗어나지 않고 당업자에 의해 일어날 수 있다는 것이 명백할 것이다.

- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 알파 히드록실 산이 타르타르산인 방법.
- 제2항에 있어서, 상기 제2 코팅 조성물이 0.1249 M 타르타르산 및 0.1298 M 티타늄 (IV) 이소프로폭시드를 포함하는 것인 방법.
