For example, the hotel is equipped with a set-top box that can communicate with the central server in each room to provide management and service of all rooms. The set-top box is connected to the display device of each room to control the situation of the room through the command of the central server or to allow the user of the hotel, such as cloud service or checkout.

At this time, the set-top box is mainly provided and managed by system integration (SI) companies. SI companies have been making their own protocol schemes, so they can communicate between their products, but they do not communicate well between their products. SI companies mainly produce servers, set-top boxes, etc., and display devices connected to them are produced by other manufacturers. Therefore, in order to communicate through set-top boxes, protocols that match the unique protocol information set in the set-top box are used. The information must be set on the display device.

Therefore, when a new display device is provided in a hotel, etc., unique protocol information of the corresponding set-top box should be set in the display device. In this case, there is an inconvenience in that the user must manually enter the protocol information of the set-top box in the display device. Also, if the protocol information of the set-top box is incorrectly written, the communication between the set-top box and the display device does not work properly.
