Skin moisturization is the most basic function of skin protection, and all commercially available cosmetics and medical skin products are among the most basic functions and are one of the most important technologies in cosmetic technology.

The major indicators of skin aging are skin wrinkles and reduced skin elasticity, which are known to influence factors such as collagen content and immunity to the external environment, the most significant of which is skin moisture content .

Epidermal cells located outside the skin form a barrier to the skin to prevent loss of moisture in the skin to promote moisturization and protect the health of the skin by preventing external harmful substances from penetrating into the skin . The skin has a protective film to prevent moisture from evaporating in the skin, which preserves skin moisture. However, due to various factors such as ambient temperature and humidity, skin temperature, and stratum corneum, skin moisture is lost on the skin surface.

If the skin barrier function is deteriorated due to various factors as described above, moisture loss of the skin occurs excessively and the skin becomes dry, and in some cases, skin wrinkles may occur due to reduction of skin elasticity. In addition, in persons with atopic skin, symptoms of inflammation or itching may occur more frequently due to loss of moisture evaporation in the stratum corneum due to decreased skin barrier function.
