Description
The present invention relates to a plug connector. And more particularly to a plug connector fastened to a socket connector mounted on a printed circuit board in a portable electronic device.
The connector device is used for electrically connecting a circuit board, a circuit board, or a circuit board with an electronic component using FPCB or the like.
2. Description of the Related Art In recent years, a connector device has been widely applied to a circuit board such as a portable terminal, and thinning has been required to meet the trend of miniaturization of electronic devices. In addition, as the density of electronic elements mounted on the circuit board increases, the number of contacts provided in the connector device increases, and the arrangement pitch between the contacts is also designed to be very narrow.
A plurality of terminal contacts in one-to-one contact with the socket contacts are connected to plugs (not shown) provided in a plug insulator, .
The socket contacts and terminal pins are connected to the socket-side and plug-side cables, respectively, or are mounted on the circuit board. When the socket contact and the terminal pin are in contact with each other by plugging the socket, the socket side cable and the plug side cable or circuits of the circuit boards are electrically connected. Thus, data communication with an external device or power supply is performed.
As an example of a conventional plug connector, a micro USB USB plug connector is shown in Figs. The micro USB USB plug connector shown in Figs. 1 and 2 has five
However, since the conventional plug connector and the corresponding socket connector shell are made of a metal material, there is a problem that the plug connector is damaged by physical contact during the repeated insertion of the plug connector into the socket connector. In addition, there is a disadvantage in that the structure is complicated and the manufacturing cost is high.
An object of the present invention is to provide a plug connector with improved structure.
Another object of the present invention is to provide a method of manufacturing a plug connector that is simple in process and low in manufacturing cost.
According to an aspect of the present invention, a plug connector includes a plurality of upper terminal pins, a plurality of lower terminal pins, a fixing portion, a metal latch portion, a ceramic plug shell, and a holder, and an inner circumferential surface of the ceramic plug shell is metal coated. The plurality of upper terminal pins are provided at one end with the contact portions protruding downward, and are electrically connected when the mating connector is inserted. The plurality of lower terminal pins are located below the plurality of upper terminal pins and have a contact portion protruded upward, and are electrically connected when the mating connector is inserted. The fixing part fixes the upper terminal pin and the lower terminal pin. The metal latch portion is disposed in front of the upper terminal pin and the lower terminal pin so that the fastening state is maintained when the mating connector is inserted. The ceramic plug shell is formed into a hollow cylindrical shape and is coupled in the form of wrapping the upper and lower terminal pins, the fixing portion, and the latch portion. The holder is coupled to the rear of the ceramic plug shell and has through holes corresponding to the upper and lower terminal pins to hold the upper and lower terminal pins.
According to another aspect of the present invention, the metal latch portion is formed in the shape of a cylinder, has an upper and lower spring which is protruded toward the center of the cylinder and contacts the ground portion of the mating connector when the mating connector is inserted, And a pair of left and right latches, which extend along the inserting direction of the mating connector and protrude from the center of the mating cylinder to maintain the fastened state when the mating connector is inserted.
According to another aspect, the fixture may be comprised of an inner ceramic plate in the middle and an outer ceramic plate in each of the upper and lower portions of the inner ceramic plate such that the upper terminal pin and the lower terminal pin are fixed between the inner ceramic plate and the outer ceramic plate.
According to another aspect, the surface of the outer ceramic plate may be coated with a metal coating.
According to yet another aspect, a method of manufacturing a plug connector using ceramics includes the steps of fabricating a plug shell to produce a hollow cylindrical plug shell by sintering ceramics, forming a metal film on the inner and outer surfaces of the plug shell by coating the plug shell with metal A metal film forming step, and a metal film removing step of removing the metal film on the plug shell outer surface by barreling the plug shell.
According to another aspect, a method of manufacturing a plug connector using a ceramic includes an insulating coating step of coating an insulating material on inner and outer surfaces of a plug shell between a metal film forming step and a metal film removing step, And removing an insulating material removing part of the coated insulating material.
According to the present invention, since the plug shell forming the outer shape of the plug connector is made of ceramic and the inner circumferential face of the ceramic plug shell is coated with metal, the plug connector has a simple structure and improved durability.
Further, since the plug shell is made of ceramic, the plug connector can have various colors.
Further, the lubricating property of the ceramic facilitates coupling of the plug connector to the socket connector.
Further, the plug connector according to the present invention does not cause a problem such as failure even if it is used for a long time.

In the plug connector using the ceramic formed as described above, since the plug shell forming the outer appearance is made of ceramic, it can have various colors. Further, the lubrication of the ceramics facilitates coupling to the socket connector. Since the substrate is made of ceramics that can radiate heat well, no failure occurs even if the substrate is used for a long time. In addition, since the plug shell forming the outer shape of the plug connector is made of ceramic and the inner circumferential surface of the ceramic plug shell is metal coated, EMI can be shielded without a separate metal member for EMI shielding. Therefore, the configuration of the plug connector is simplified.

When manufacturing the plug connector as described above, EMI can be shielded without a separate metal member for shielding the EMI. Therefore, the configuration of the plug connector is simplified.
8 is a flowchart of a method of manufacturing a plug connector using a ceramic according to another embodiment of the present invention.
Referring to FIG. 8, between the metal film forming step and the metal film removing step of the plug connector manufacturing method using ceramic, a step of coating insulating material on the inner and outer surfaces of the plug shell, A step of removing a part of the agent may be included.
For the EMI shielding, the upper and lower terminal pins may touch the inner circumferential surface of the ceramic coated plug shell, which may cause a short circuit. This problem is prevented if the inner surface of the ceramic coated plug shell is coated with an insulating material. And a part of the insulating material is removed to expose the metal coating portion to the outside, and this portion is brought into contact with the outer ceramic plate, thereby improving the electrical characteristics.
While the present invention has been particularly shown and described with reference to exemplary embodiments thereof, it is evident that many alternatives, modifications and variations will be apparent to those skilled in the art. There will be. Accordingly, the true scope of protection of the present invention should be determined only by the appended claims.
