Description
The present invention relates to a method of setting a target light quantity value of a display and a display device using the method, and more particularly, to a display device using a luminance sensor without using a heat-run process for setting a target luminance value after display production, A target light quantity value setting method of a display capable of setting a target light quantity value of a display device, and a display device using the method.
In order to control the unstable brightness, which is a characteristic of a display (e.g., a liquid crystal display, LCD), it is necessary to set a target luminance value.
In order to set the target luminance value, the display is heat-run during production of the display device, and the luminance of the display is measured using the luminance measuring device installed on the front surface of the display.
Then, when a desired target luminance value is measured while varying the brightness of the display, the light amount value of the illuminance sensor corresponding to the target luminance value is stored and set in the memory.
Therefore, the display has to be hit for a predetermined time (about 30 minutes) to set the target luminance value, which causes a loss in the production process and can not actively cope with performance degradation depending on the use time of the backlight.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION The present invention has been made to solve the above problems, and it is an object of the present invention to provide a display device capable of setting a target light quantity value of a display using a luminance sensor without a heat- A method of setting a light amount value, and a display device using the method.
According to an embodiment of the present invention, the control unit outputs a control command to the backlight driving unit to increase the light amount of the backlight when the light amount value measured through the illuminance sensor is smaller than the initial target light amount value at the time of driving the display .
According to an embodiment of the present invention, when it is determined that the light amount of the backlight is not increased and the light amount value measured at the M-th order by the illuminance sensor is equal to the light quantity value measured at the (M-1) , And the initial target light amount value is corrected to the light amount value measured in the M-th order and controlled.
According to another aspect of the present invention, there is provided a method of setting a target light amount value of a display, comprising: measuring a backlight light amount value through an illuminance sensor; Determining whether the measured light quantity values are the same and, if they are the same, setting the light quantity value measured in the N-th order as the initial target light quantity value.
According to another aspect of the present invention, there is provided a method of controlling a light emitting device, comprising: measuring a current light amount value of a backlight through an illuminance sensor when the initial target light amount value is set; And outputting a control command to the backlight driver to decrease the amount of backlight when the currently measured light amount value is greater than the initial target light amount value.
According to another aspect of the present invention, the method may further include the step of outputting a control command to the backlight driver to increase the amount of backlight light when the currently measured light amount value is smaller than the initial target light amount value.
According to another aspect of the present invention, there is provided a method of controlling a backlight, comprising the steps of: measuring a backlight luminous energy value through an illuminance sensor when it is determined that the amount of backlight is not increased; And correcting the initial target light amount value to a light amount value measured in the M-th order, if the measured light amount values are the same.
According to the present invention, it is possible to prevent a loss in the production process by not performing the heat-run process for 30 minutes to set the target luminance value after the display production.

The following detailed description is merely an example, and is merely an example of the present invention. Further, the principles and concepts of the present invention are provided for the purpose of being most useful and readily explaining.
Accordingly, it is not intended to provide a more detailed structure than is necessary for a basic understanding of the present invention, but it should be understood by those skilled in the art that the present invention can be embodied in various forms.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS Hereinafter, preferred embodiments of the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the accompanying drawings.
1 is a block diagram showing a display device using a target light quantity value setting method of a display according to an embodiment of the present invention.
1, the
The A /
The
When the amount of light of the backlight is not controlled, when the initial power is supplied to the backlight module, the brightness of the backlight gradually increases and then becomes bright and then stabilizes (saturates).
Therefore, when the initial target light amount value is set, the
The
If the
2 is a flowchart showing a method of setting an initial target light amount value of a display according to an embodiment of the present invention.
First, since the display apparatus of the present invention does not perform a heat run for setting a target luminance value set using the target luminance measuring device, the initial target light quantity value according to the target luminance value is not set. The display device (for example, a monitor) can set the light amount value measured through the illuminance sensor to the initial target light amount value when the backlight is saturated because all the display devices do not need to have the same brightness. Therefore, when the consumer uses a display device without using a heat run in the production process to set the initial target light quantity value, the controller can set the value at which the backlight saturates to the initial target light quantity value.
As shown in FIG. 2, when power is applied to the display, when the control unit determines that the target light amount value is not set (S21), the controller measures the light amount value through the illuminance sensor (S23). The measured light quantity value can be temporarily stored in the memory.
(S27).The control unit compares the currently measured light amount value with the previously measured light amount value, and repeatedly measures the light amount when the current light amount value does not match (S25). Then, the control unit compares the light amount measured in the N-th order with the light amount measured in the (N-1) th difference (S25) and determines that the backlight is saturated (stabilized) To the target light amount value (S27).
Therefore, the saturation value of the backlight can be set to the initial target light amount value without performing a heat run for setting the light amount value according to the target luminance value of the display, thereby preventing loss in the production process.
Hereinafter, a process for controlling the display device having the initial target light amount value to reach the initial target light amount value within a short period of time during the initial driving will be described.
3 is a flowchart illustrating a process of reaching a target light amount value using the illuminance sensor according to an embodiment of the present invention.
As shown in FIG. 3, when power is applied to the display, when the control unit determines that the target light amount value is set (S21 in FIG. 2), the light amount value is measured through the illuminance sensor (S31). The measured light quantity value can be temporarily stored in the memory.
(S34). If the currently measured light amount value is larger than the currently measured light amount value by comparing the currently measured light amount value (S32), the controller determines whether the brightness of the backlight can be reduced (S33). When it is determined that the brightness can be reduced, the control unit outputs a control command to the backlight driving unit to decrease the brightness by one step so as to reach the set target light amount value (S34).
On the other hand, if the currently measured light amount value is compared with the set target light amount value and the current measured light amount value is determined to be small (S35), the controller determines whether the brightness of the backlight can be increased (S36). If it is determined that the brightness can be increased, the control unit outputs a control command to increase the brightness of the backlight driving unit by one step in order to control the brightness to reach the set target light amount value (S37).
Therefore, the control unit can control the display apparatus having the initial target light amount value to reach the initial target light amount value within a short period of time during the initial drive.
4 is a flowchart illustrating a method of modifying and setting an initial target light amount value of a display according to a backlight lifetime according to an embodiment of the present invention.
(S41). 4, when the current measured light amount value is compared with the currently measured light amount value and the current measured light amount value is determined to be small, it is determined that the brightness of the backlight can not be increased (S36 in FIG. 3) The light amount value is measured through the illuminance sensor (S41).
(S47).The control unit compares the currently measured light amount value with the previously measured light amount value, and repeatedly measures the light amount when the current light amount value does not match (S43). Then, the control unit compares the light amount measured in the M-th order with the light amount measured in the (M-1) th difference (S45), determines that the light amount is saturated (stabilized) according to the lifetime of the backlight, And the light amount value is corrected to the measured light amount value in the M-th order (S47).
That is, the control unit can not set the initial target light amount value over time, and can adjust the target light amount value when the brightness of the display is lowered. Accordingly, the control unit can modify the target light amount value in accordance with the decrease of brightness with time of the back light, and actively cope with the lifetime of the back light.
