Abstract
Description
More particularly, the present invention relates to a method for detecting a river water surface using a temporal change characteristic analysis of a pixel intensity of a spatiotemporal image. More specifically, The average and standard deviation of the spatiotemporal image pixel intensities obtained by extracting a plurality of images based on a predetermined measurement line with respect to a plurality of image frames constituting the image frames and arranging them in chronological order are obtained and from these information, The present invention relates to a method of detecting a river water surface using a result of analyzing a temporal change characteristic of a pixel intensity of a spatio-temporal image.
Generally, the necessity of water level measurement for dams, rivers and reservoirs is emphasized in order to prevent disasters. However, since most of the measurements are made by manpower, serious damage occurs at night due to heavy rainfall.
In order to solve such problems, ultrasonic waves and pressure type water level sensors are installed and operated.
However, in case of ultrasonic waves, the measurement range is very small, and the measurement value may not be reliable depending on the external environment such as wind, mist, rain, heavy snow, etc. In the case of pressure type water level sensor, There is a drawback that the cost is high, and there is an inconvenience that it is necessary to go out to the place of installation directly in order to check the measured value.
In order to solve such a problem, a prior art relating to a level gauge using a laser is disclosed.
For example, in Korean Utility Model Registration No. 20-0338633, registered in the Republic of Korea, a laser generator is provided, which has a pair of acute angles symmetrically symmetrical on both left and right sides, and a CCD that captures the shape of the laser beam reflected from the water surface A method of measuring the water level by measuring the distance between the two laser beams reflected on the water surface and calculating a difference between the reference water level and the current water level according to an angle between the two laser generators have.
However, in the case of the technology disclosed in Shinan KR No. 20-0338633, since the image processing apparatus is used, the production cost is high, and if there is a wave on the water surface, accurate measurement values can not be obtained. Depending on the angle between the two laser generators The trade-off relationship between accuracy and measurable range is difficult to use in a place where the water level change is severe.
On the other hand, Korean Patent Registration No. 10-0213599 discloses a pipe for guiding buoys; A buoy floating on the water surface inside the pipe; And a laser distance meter disposed at the upper end of the pipe and measuring the distance to the upper surface of the buoy using a laser.
However, in the case of this technique, there is a disadvantage that a foreign object is generated or infiltrated into the pipe, and the pipe and the buoy operation are not free, and a pier or a measurement station is necessarily required.
Meanwhile, in addition to these measurement methods, there have been various attempts to measure the level of a river by using images. The inventors of the present invention have found the following prior art data.
(1) Patent of Hitachi Works
(Takagi et al., Hitachi, Ltd.) discloses a method of determining the position of a water surface by installing a tiltable pivot table (neck plate) or a vertical pumping plate and a slope assist plate on a river structure, The representative patents related to measurement of image level applied by Hitachi Works are as follows.

(2) Patent of Nagaoka University of Technology
The patents of Nagaoka University of Technology are relatively recent patents, and the focus is on the detection of water level through image processing. The patents related to the image level measurement of Nagaoka University of Technology are as follows.
(3) Patent of Korea Institute of Construction Technology
In the research carried out by the Korea Institute of Construction Technology with the high tech system as part of the 21st Century Frontier R & D project process, After the acquisition, we analyzed the location of the water surface by the cross correlation method and studied the method of recognizing the characters of the water level table near the water surface by OCR.
In this study, the river water level was obtained from the information about recognized characters and the water level, and OCR analysis was used. Therefore, to prevent contamination of the water level table itself, It is a somewhat complicated addition device such as attaching LED to the table.
The result of this study is currently registered as a Korean Patent Application No. 10-2005-0086586 entitled "Liquid Level Measurement System using Image (Image Gage System)" It has already completed the entry into Korea.
(4) Patents of Samil Information Technology Co., Ltd. and Taesung Logics Co., Ltd.
In this patent, it is pointed out that there is a problem due to an error that occurs when the existing image level related patent reads the scale of the water table, and the surrounding structure is used to convert the actual water level. For the water surface detection method, However, since there are not many related documents on this, it is difficult to grasp concrete and detailed technical contents.
(5) Patent of Fujitsu Co., Ltd.
The patent of Fujitsu Co., Ltd. is a technology to detect the water level by separating the water line and the bank line among several lines having similar mutual directions extracted through contour detection in a video captured using a fixed camera and is the most recently registered patent .
In the prior art mentioned above, Hitachi, Japan proposed a method of determining the location of the water surface by installing a tiltable pumping table or a vertical pumping plate and a slope assistant in a stream structure,
At the Nagaoka University of Technology in Japan, we proposed a method to detect the water level by applying temporal and spatial basis decomposition to the images taken by fixed camera, ranking the obtained data,
In Japan, Fujitsu Co., Ltd. proposed a method of detecting the water level by separating the water line and the bank line from several lines of similar direction extracted through contour detection in a captured image using a fixed camera.
In Korea, the Korea Institute of Construction Technology (KIER) compared the temporal changes in the Y-directional distribution of the images in a plurality of images including the liquid interface, and when the difference is greater than a preset increase value, And developed the device.
However, the conventional image level measuring methods include a process of directly reading the water level table, and sometimes it is difficult to accurately detect the water level at the time of a change in the climate such as night, bad weather, rainfall, snowfall, fog, A weak contour extraction method or the like is used.
Therefore, it is necessary to develop a method that can detect the water level by using a new image processing method rather than the technique presented in the existing document, which can be applied in bad weather without depending on the water level table.
The present invention proposes a new method for solving the problems of the prior art, and is a method of analyzing a plurality of consecutive images at one time and analyzing a luminance change during the time to distinguish a fixed region, a non-fixed region, and a boundary region And to propose a method of determining the sleeping position using the STI (Spatio-Temporal Image) analysis method.
The embodiment of the stream water surface detection method using the temporal change characteristic analysis result of the pixel intensity of the spatio-

In the present invention, the step (d) may be performed after converting the spatiotemporal image acquired in the step (c) into a monochrome image. This step is necessary when the first image captured by the image capturing apparatus is a color image, and may not be necessary if the first captured image is a monochrome image.
In the step (e), the region having the standard deviation less than the predetermined reference value is determined as a non-water-soluble region, which is the upper portion of the stream, and the lower region having the standard deviation equal to or greater than the predetermined reference value, And the water surface can be detected by determining a point where the standard deviation is equal to or greater than the predetermined reference value as the water surface of the river.
In the step (e) of the present invention, the horizontal direction of the spatio-temporal region in which the standard deviation calculated along the vertical direction of the spatio-temporal image first satisfies the predetermined reference value may be determined as the numerical surface. Particularly, in the present invention, an upper part in the horizontal direction of the space-time area in which the standard deviation first satisfies the predetermined reference value is determined as a non-water-soluble area and a lower part is determined as a water-
According to the present invention, the surface of the river water can be accurately and stably recognized even under various conditions such as nighttime, bad weather, rainfall, snowfall, and mist, which are difficult to accurately recognize the river water surface.
In addition, since the present invention utilizes only a simple image capturing device without installing a separate facility, there is an advantage that the position of the water surface can be measured economically.

Next, a predetermined longitudinal image included in the corresponding measurement line is extracted with respect to a predetermined vertical measurement line with respect to a predetermined image frame obtained by moving image capture, and then horizontally arranged in chronological order to obtain a space-time image.
Next, the change of the pixel intensity value in the spatio-temporal image over time is analyzed and classified into three regions: an upper region which is a fixed region (non-localized region), a lower region which is an aqueous region, and a water surface do.
For reference, the distinction between the non-Euclidean region, the boundary region, and the non-Euclidean region according to the present invention is obtained by calculating the average and standard deviation of the image intensity at the temporal change of the pixel intensity value of the spatio-temporal image.
Hereinafter, the technical idea of the present invention explained in Fig. 1 will be described in more detail, "a method of recognizing the surface of the river water using the temporal change characteristic analysis result of the pixel intensity of the spatio-temporal image ".
Example]
First, in order to extract the image features of the water surface, the present inventor visited the Oncheon Stream, which is one of the rivers of Busan, and photographed an image of a stream surrounding the predetermined structure as shown in FIG. 2 (a). For reference, the actual photographing was taken on January 23, 2014 at the Ongcheon Bridge in Busan, and the surveying sculpture shown in FIG. 2 (a) was arbitrarily installed for the convenience of photographing.
For the implementation of the present invention, the moving image was about 10 seconds. However, in consideration of the fact that there is slight shaking of the front chuck about 2 seconds in the front part, a 2 second image (720 X 480 pixels 60 frames) Space - time images.
In the present invention, the approximate position of the water surface is visually determined within one frame by using an image processing program.
2 (b) shows the y coordinate (pixel) of the number surface position of each cross section, and Fig. 2 (c) shows a black-and-white image (also referred to as a gray image) Fig.
In FIG. 2B,
FIG. 3 shows a spatio-temporal image obtained by extracting predetermined image areas including vertical measurement lines for each section of FIG. 2 (b) and arranging them in chronological order.
3, the vertical direction is y and the horizontal direction is the time t axis. By way of reference, the red arrows in Fig. 3 represent the schematic position of the approximate water surface.
Figure 4 shows the mean and standard deviation of the spatio-temporal image intensity of Figure 3.
As can be seen from FIG. 4, the spatio-temporal image is divided into three regions: an upper region which is a fixed region (non-localized region) with little change in image, a lower region which is an evanescent region where the image changes instantaneously, .
In other words, the upper part of the water surface, that is, the fixed part which is the non-water area, has a certain horizontal line because there is almost no change of the space-time image. In other words, despite the passage of time, there is no change in the image in principle.
On the other hand, it can be seen that, even in a calm situation, the image changes according to the passage of time.
Therefore, it can be seen that, in the spatio-temporal image, the non-water area has a distinctive feature of a horizontal line and a water area is a spot, and the surface of the boundary is a mixture of horizontal lines and irregularities. That is, the surface of the water vibrates with time.
The water surface detection method according to the present invention, which is proposed in view of such a characteristic, focuses on efficient separation of these three regions.
In the present invention, for the detection of the water surface, the spatiotemporal images of 100 to 700 columns shown in FIG. 3 are converted into black and white images, and the average and standard deviation of the image intensities of the respective horizontal lines (horizontal direction) are shown in FIG. .
In the case of the present invention, the standard deviation of the image intensity will be close to zero since there is no temporal change in the non-negative-water region. Because of the background noise of the calculation result, the image intensity is always slightly changed, so that the standard deviation is not exactly zero.
On the other hand, in the spatio-temporal image, the standard deviation of the image intensity is very large because the lower region corresponding to the leading area changes temporally.
Also, since the surface of the water is considerably large in temporal change, the standard deviation of the image intensity at this portion has a predetermined peak value (predetermined reference value).
These results were confirmed from FIG.
As shown in FIG. 4, the standard deviation of the image intensity was 5.0 or less in the non-water-soluble region, 5.0 or more in the water-repellent region, and the standard deviation of the water surface was about 10.0 or more. Therefore, using these results, it is possible to detect the water surface of the river very accurately.
However, in the image of the 400 column longitudinal section in (d) of Fig. 4, it has a relatively large peak value near the 57th row. The reason for this is that the standard deviation of the image intensity in the non-water-level region is abnormally a predetermined peak value because the white stripe is slightly tilted to the right in the image in the vicinity of the line 57 in FIG. 3 (d) It is because of the shaking of the poetry smile.
A method of detecting a river water surface using a temporal change characteristic analysis result of the pixel intensity of the spatio-temporal image according to the present invention described above is summarized as follows.
First, an image photographed for a predetermined time with respect to a certain area including the surface of the river water is acquired.
Next, at least one predetermined longitudinal measurement line is set at the same position for each of the N frame images constituting the image, and then N image regions including the predetermined measurement line region are respectively extracted.
Next, the N image regions extracted from each of the N frame images are arranged in chronological order to obtain a space-time image.
Next, the spatio-temporal image is converted into a monochrome image. This step is necessary when the first image captured by the image capturing apparatus is a color image, and may not be necessary if the first captured image is a black and white image.
Next, the average and standard deviation of the intensity of the horizontal direction image of the spatio-temporal image are calculated along the vertical direction from the pixels constituting the spatio-temporal image.
Next, the water surface of the river is detected using whether the standard deviation exceeds a predetermined reference value.
According to the present invention, the region where the standard deviation is less than the predetermined reference value is determined as a non-water-soluble region which is the upper portion of the stream, the lower region where the standard deviation is equal to or greater than the predetermined reference value is determined as the water- It is possible to detect the water surface by determining a point having a predetermined reference value or more as the water surface of the river.
That is, in the present invention, the horizontal direction of the spatio-temporal area in which the standard deviation calculated along the vertical direction of the spatio-temporal image first satisfies the predetermined reference value can be determined as the numerical surface.
In other words, in the case of the present invention, the upper part in the horizontal direction of the space-time area in which the standard deviation first meets the predetermined reference value can be regarded as the non-water area and the lower part can be determined as the water area.
The water surface detecting method according to the present invention will be described in detail below.
(1) Using a video recording device, for example, a video of about 1 second to 2 seconds is taken to produce a moving image.
(2) The approximate position of the surface of the water can be set from the created movie. For reference, the position of the set water surface is used only when detecting the initial water surface, and is unnecessary in the subsequent execution.
(3) A predetermined vertical direction measurement line is set for a plurality of image frames constituting a moving image, and a predetermined image including the predetermined vertical direction measurement line is extracted to generate a space time image.
(4) If the space-time image is a color image, it is converted into a monochrome image. However, this course is not mandatory and may be optional.
(5) Calculate the mean and standard deviation of the image intensity in the transformed spatio-temporal image.
In the case of the present invention, a region having a standard deviation of 5.0 or less is classified into a non-water-soluble region (fixed region) and a region having a 5.0 or more water-level region is classified as a water- But may be changed only in accordance with the image information to be captured.
(6) A point where the standard deviation displayed along the vertical direction of the spatio-temporal image satisfies a predetermined reference value for the first time is determined as a water surface, and the upper portion is defined as a non-water- .
(7) The detected water surface is held at the approximate water surface position of the next step, and the above-mentioned (1), (3) to (6) are repeatedly performed.
That is, in the water surface detection method according to the present invention, the steps (3) to (7) are performed after a rough water surface position is set for the moving image to be used first, because the possibility of water surface detection error is reduced, Once the above process is performed, information on the position of the water surface is extracted. Therefore, even if the processes of (1) and (3) to (6) There will be no.
According to the present invention described above, "a stream water surface detection method using temporal change characteristic analysis results of pixel intensity of spatio-temporal image" is a method of detecting a predetermined region including a river water surface by using a moving picture shooting device, The average and standard deviation of the spatiotemporal image pixel intensities obtained by extracting a plurality of images based on a predetermined measurement line with respect to a plurality of image frames and arranging them in chronological order are obtained and the number surface boundary of the stream is determined or detected from the information The method of the present invention can recognize the river water surface more accurately and stably even at nighttime where it is difficult to accurately recognize the river water surface because of using the change of the space time image. It is more economical to detect the position of the water surface As shown in Fig.
