Description
The present invention relates to a nanocomposite comprising a titanium oxide / metal nanoparticle / carbon nanostructure, a method of manufacturing the same, and a solar cell electrode having a remarkably increased efficiency using the nanocomposite.
Dye-sensitized solar cells are photo-electrochemical solar cells, that is, solar cells that mimic the photosynthesis of plants. It can be commercialized as 10 ~ 11% of cell conversion efficiency. It can reduce the power generation cost of cell by up to 1/5. Because it has various application possibilities because of its flexible and transparent characteristics, Have.
FIG. 2 shows the structure of a general dye-sensitized solar cell. The principle of the dye-sensitized solar cell is that when sunlight passes through the transparent electrode of the DSSC and is adsorbed on the
On the other hand, dyes that have been deprived of electrons by TiO2 are converted to iodine by reducing electrons from iodide ions. Also, iodine is reduced to iodide by obtaining electrons from the counter electrode. With this principle, dye-sensitized solar cells convert solar energy into electrical energy. However, the efficiency of conventional dye-sensitized solar cells is lower than that of conventional silicon-based solar cells, so that it is difficult to put them into practical use.
For this reason, many studies have been made to increase the efficiency of the dye-sensitized solar cell. The key technologies in dye-sensitized solar cells are synthesis and sintering of electrode materials such as TiO2 and ZnO. In order to increase the efficiency of the dye-sensitized solar cell, CNT has been applied to a counter electrode or an electrolytic solution. However, only
In order to increase the efficiency of the dye-sensitized solar cell, the surface plasmon effect of metal nanoparticles such as gold (Au) or silver (Ag) nanoparticles was also applied to the working electrode (Powder Technology 194 2009) 95-105). However, metal nanoplatelet-like forms have not been applied, nor have CNTs applied to working electrodes.

Further, the nanocomposite electrode according to the present invention can be applied to a dye-sensitized solar cell to improve efficiency.

Hereinafter, the present invention will be described in more detail.
The present invention relates to a method and condition for increasing the efficiency of a solar cell by applying nano-sized metal particles or a metal plate and a carbon nanostructure to a
Specifically, the nanocomposite according to the present invention comprises a) TiO 2 nanoparticles, TiO 2 microparticles or a mixture thereof; b) a carbon nanostructure and c) metal nanoparticles.
The method for preparing the nanocomposite according to the present invention comprises the steps of: a) dispersing a carbon nanostructure in a solvent; b) adding the metal nanoparticles while stirring the carbon nanostructure dispersion; And c) adding a TiO 2 nanoparticle or a microparticle or TiO 2 precursor or a precursor mixture to the carbon nanostructure dispersion to which the metal nanoparticles are added, dispersing the precursor mixture, and then evaporating the solvent to prepare a paste.
According to an embodiment of the present invention, the metal nanoparticles may be selected from Au, Ag, Cu, Ni, Zn, Pt, and Pd, but the present invention is not limited thereto. The size of the metal nanoparticles is preferably 0.1 to 100 nm. The surface plasmon effect of the metal nanoparticles is reduced to half, which is not preferable. In addition, since the wavelength range of light absorbed is different depending on the morphology of the metal nanoparticles, the shape of the metal nanoparticles can be selected from among isomeric particles, elongated particles, and platelet particles .
According to another embodiment of the present invention, the carbon nanostructure may be selected from, for example, single wall carbon nanotubes, double wall carbon nanotubes, multiwall carbon nanotubes, graphene, or fullerene, no.
According to another embodiment of the present invention, the content of the carbon nanostructure is preferably 0.1 to 5 wt%, the content of the metal nanoparticles is preferably 0.1 to 5 wt%, and the content of TiO 2 is 90 to 99.8 By weight. The content of the metal nanoparticles or the carbon nanostructure at an excessively high weight ratio increases the internal resistance and lowers the light absorption, resulting in a decrease in the dye-sensitized solar cell efficiency.
According to another embodiment of the present invention, the TiO 2 precursor may be TTIP, TTIE, TiCl 4 , but is not limited thereto.
Also, the nanocomposite electrode can be manufactured by coating or printing the paste prepared by the above method on a substrate, followed by drying and thermal sintering. At this time, the thermal sintering temperature is preferably 450 ° C to 500 ° C. At lower temperatures, the TiO 2 and TiO 2 precursors are not completely sintered, which may reduce the efficiency of the dye-sensitized solar cell.
Further, the nanocomposite electrode according to the present invention can be applied to a dye-sensitized solar cell to improve efficiency.
Hereinafter, the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the drawings.
In the present invention, a composite material (
First, the surface was treated with HNO3 (16M) for dispersion of CNT, and then washed and neutralized with distilled water. The surface-treated CNT was dried at 120 ° C for 24 hours, and then dispersed by sonication using ethanol as a solvent. The primary dispersed CNTs were centrifuged to extract only the supernatant from which the precipitate had been removed. As shown in FIG. 3, nano-sized metal particles and
여기서 기판은 FTO(fluorine tin oxide) 기판, ITO(Indium tin Oxide) 기판, 고분자 기재 등이 사용될 수 있다. The process of producing the composite paste is shown in Fig. The
The composite paste applied on the substrate is thermally sintered and then immersed in the dye solution for 24 hours to produce a working electrode. The counter electrode is a Pt coated FTO glass. A dye-sensitized solar cell was fabricated using two electrodes, and the manufacturing process of the DSSC is shown in FIG. In this way, a DSSC using a
Surface plasmon of metal nanoparticles refers to the near-field formed on a metal surface by interaction caused by the distribution of high-density charge on the metal surface and photons existing along the interface between the dielectric and the metal by light waves. When the surface plasmon state excited by the light incident on the surface of the nanometer-sized metal structure is obtained, the wavelength range of the light absorbed by the metal nanoparticles is increased. Therefore, by mixing metal nanoparticles such as Au and Ag in an appropriate ratio with the
In addition, CNT (Carbon nanotube) has a unique molecular structure in the form of a tube and has a high electron mobility. Therefore, when the CNT is mixed with the
As a result of the measurement of the efficiency of the dye-sensitized solar cell (DSSC) shown in FIG. 8, it was confirmed that the

First, an FTO glass ( ) Were washed with ethanol and distilled water for 10 minutes using a sonicator. Single-wall carbon nanotubes (MWCNT) were surface-treated with 16M HNO3 and washed with distilled water. The surface-treated MWCNT was dried at 120 DEG C for 24 hours to obtain a purified MWCNT. After dispersing the MWCNT in ethanol, the supernatant was removed by centrifugation to obtain a 0.5 wt% MWCNT solution. In this MWCNT solution, Ag nanoparticles were added in a proportion of 2 wt% in a sonicator, and
