Description
BACKGROUND OF THE
Torque control for clutch engagement and disengagement of a transmission for a vehicle is a very important factor for determining ride comfort, durability and the like. However, since the measurement of the direct clutch torque value is very difficult, there is a great difficulty in proper controller design or system monitoring.
Currently, market trends and technology development trends in the field of vehicle transmissions are automation of transmission systems. Conventional planetary gear type automatic transmissions tend to increase efficiency according to multi-shoe. In addition, a new type of automatic transmission such as an automatic manual transmission (AMT) and a dual clutch transmission (DCT) have been developed, and various technologies have been developed to meet both requirements of driver convenience and fuel efficiency improvement. Unlike manual transmissions that are not directly controlled by the driver and require no automatic control, these automatic transmission systems must automatically control the engagement and disengagement of the clutch in accordance with the vehicle condition and the driver's intention. However, since the clutch torque to be controlled can not be directly measured, feedback control is very difficult. In the case of a torque sensor, it is very expensive and it is almost impossible to mount it on a real production vehicle. In the case of a planetary automatic transmission (AT) equipped with a torque converter, the clutch torque can be predicted by accurately modeling the turbine torque. However, other methods are required for AMT and DCT without torque converter. If additional sensors are installed, the cost corresponding to the efficiency reduction of the torque converter is required, and overall efficiency improvement benefits such as DCT can be offset.
As such, finding the clutch torque value is essential for cost reduction and improved control performance, but it is technically very difficult. As a result, due to the nature of the automotive industry, where component costs are to be minimized, it is very important to predict torque values using minimal cost.

Syst., Meas., Contr., vol., 114 no. 3, pp. 394-400,

Syst., Meas., Contr., Vol. 400, 1992), a sliding mode observer was used to predict the drive shaft torque and only the speed sensor was utilized. Therefore, the output may become very sensitive depending on the resolution and noise of the speed sensor. In the case of a sliding mode observer, the chattering problem can make the problem of noise more serious.

Syst., Meas., Contr., vol. 122, no. 2, pp. 276-283, 2000.)
Estimation of turbine torque of automatic transmissions using nonlinear observers, "Trans. ASME, J. Dyn. Syst., Meas., &Quot; K. Yi, B.-K. Shin, and K.-I. Lee, Contr., Vol. 122, no. 2, pp. 276-283, 2000.) is a method for predicting the torque of a system equipped with an automatic transmission. We also used a speed sensor and a sliding mode observer. Since the automatic transmission is equipped with the torque converter, the torque transmitted to the clutch can be estimated by predicting the turbine side torque. However, this method also has drawbacks that are sensitive to noise. It is also not applicable to transmissions without a torque converter.
3(P. Li, T. Jin, and xiuxia Du, "Torque observer modeling for vehicle transmission shifting processing based on neural networks," in Proceedings of the 17th IFAC World Congress, Seoul, Korea, July 2008. pp. 16 039 - 16 044.)
Proceeding of the 17th IFAC World Congress, Seoul, Korea, July 2008. pp. 16 " 039 - 16 044) proposed a torque observer using a neural network. Powertrain systems have very nonlinear dynamics, making accurate mathematical modeling difficult. To overcome this problem, we proposed a method of predicting the transmission torque using a neural network model. Although it has the advantage of avoiding the use of a detailed mathematical model, it is difficult to use in real time due to the problem of increase in the amount of calculation, and there is a possibility of problems such as time delay in using the controller.
In Reference 4 (US2009 / 0105039 A1), the state of the hydraulic system operating the clutch in the transmission is grasped to predict the torque. The position of the valve is determined by the pressure of the hydraulic system, the spring force, and the feedback pressure. The hydraulic volume for driving the clutch is calculated by calculating the amount of flow depending on the position of the valve. And finally calculating the clutch pressure corresponding to the hydraulic volume, thereby grasping the clutch load. This method can be utilized under the assumption that the hydraulic control is very accurate, and is not applicable to a drive system using an electric motor or the like.
5(US2008/0147295 A1, Method for estimating clutch engagement parameters in a strategy for clutch management in a vehicle powertrain)는 클러치가 슬립상태에 있을 때 발생하는 뒤틀림 각과 그로 인해 발생하는 토크 사이의 관계를 이용하여, 클러치 토크를 예측하는 방법이다.
[0004] In US patent application Ser. No. 08 / 0147,295 A1, a method for estimating clutch engagement parameters is disclosed, which utilizes a relationship between a torque generated due to a twist angle generated when the clutch is in a slip state, Thereby estimating the clutch torque. This is a method of identifying the parameters of the relational expression between the twist angle and the clutch torque by comparing the value obtained using the dynamic model of the vehicle drive system with the speed sensor value obtained during the actual running. There is an advantage that a relatively precise relation can be obtained through the optimization process. Here, the optimization process takes place off-line. In addition, since it is based only on the experimental results in a specific situation, it can not be considered to cope with the dynamic situation that may occur when driving.
6(US 6,640,178 B2, Process for estimating drive torque in vehicle,
In US 6,640,178 B2, Process for estimating drive torque in vehicle, 2001, the clutch torque was predicted using the characteristics of the torque converter. First, calculate the input / output speed ratio (output speed / input speed) of the torque converter and then decide how to estimate the drive torque based on the reference value. When the actual torque converter input / output speed ratio is larger than the model value, the drive torque is obtained using the estimated engine torque and the torque converter torque ratio. In this case, the engine torque value is used because it means that the capacity of the torque converter is inaccurate. Conversely, when the torque converter input / output speed ratio is smaller than the model value, the drive torque is obtained using the engine speed and the torque converter speed ratio. In this case, since the engine torque becomes faster than the drive shaft torque and reaction delay occurs, it is better to use the engine speed value than the engine torque value. Also, the wheel speed value is used for shifting. This method utilizes the basic characteristics of a torque converter that has already been proven, but it is not applicable to AMT, DCT, etc., which do not have a torque converter. In addition, there is a disadvantage that the performance depends on the model verification level of the torque converter.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION The present invention has been made to solve the above problems, and it is an object of the present invention to predict a clutch torque by using only a measurement signal obtained in a conventional vehicle without using a torque sensor or other additional sensors. 1 is a schematic view of a drive system model of a vehicle.

This figure shows the force, torque, angular velocity and the like applied to each part of the drivetrain model. In J e of the engine moment of inertia, T e is engine torque, ω e of the engine RPM, α refers to a throttle input, and the
2 is a view showing an embodiment of a rotational speed and a wheel speed signal measurement value of a drive shaft including noise.
In the case of the dual clutch transmission (DCT), which is a kind of automatic transmission, since it was installed in Volkswagen's golf in the early 2000s, it has been installed in various mass-production vehicles and has been successfully commercialized. Until now, the type of system installed was to use a wet clutch through control using a hydraulic system. The wet clutch is advantageous in that a cooling effect and a buffering effect can be obtained. The use of a hydraulic system provides a drive system that can cover the engine torque utilizing features that can achieve very high forces using small pressures.
In recent years, a system using a dry clutch and an electric motor has been developed for higher energy efficiency. The dry clutch has a problem of heat generation and wear instead of high torque transmission efficiency, and the electric motor has a temperature sensitive characteristic. These difficulties can be improved through proper controller design, which requires predicting the clutch torque first. This is because the error value must be calculated using the measured values in order to design the feedback controller.
A typical method is to obtain the torque through the difference between the rotational speed of the drive shaft located at the rear of the transmission, that is, the clutch speed value and the wheel speed value. This is called a torque sensor based torque estimator. The rotational speed value, the wheel speed value, and the like can be measured by a speed sensor included in an electronic control unit (ECU) of the vehicle. The rigidity of the drive shaft is smaller than the rigidity of the transmission. Such a method can be used when a change in transmission torque occurs instantaneously, such as in a gear shift. The outline is as follows.
Expression of the drive shaft torque for predicting the clutch torque (between the longitudinal reduction gear at the rear end of the transmission), that is, the clutch torque predicted value as described above, can be expressed using a torsion bar model as shown in Equation (1).
Where T 0 is the clutch torque predicted value, k 0 is the drive shaft stiffness, and b 0 is the damping coefficient. θ c and θ w denote the rotational angular positions of the clutch and the wheel, respectively , and ω c and ω w denote the rotational speeds of the clutch and the wheel, respectively. i t and i f denote the transmission gear ratio and the longitudinal reduction gear ratio, respectively.
Here, if only the term that can be measured is left, the predicted torque value < RTI ID = 0.0 > Can be obtained.
From this, there can be measured ω c, ω w value can save about the predicted value of the clutch torque through the numerical integration. However, in general, since all the sensors include noise, the above-described method can cause problems. That is, as shown in FIG. 2, when noise is contained in the rotational speed and wheel speed measurement value of the drive shaft, a problem arises due to integration.
3 is a view showing an embodiment of a torque prediction result value based on the rotational speed of the drive shaft including noise and the measured value of the wheel speed signal and a torque value actually transmitted on the drive shaft.
When simulating an operation in which the vehicle starts from a standstill, the predicted clutch torque can be obtained by multiplying the value obtained by the above equation by the corresponding gear ratio of the transmission. As shown in FIG. 2, when the rotational speed of the drive shaft and the wheel speed measurement sensor value including the noise are used as they are, it can be seen that the clutch torque predicted value does not converge to the actual clutch torque value as shown in FIG.
4 is a diagram illustrating a system configuration for torque prediction according to the present invention.
The clutch speed, the wheel speed, the engine torque, and the like can be measured by an ECU (not shown) of the vehicle.
The vehicle friction clutch
Thereafter, the vehicular friction clutch
The differential equation for calculating the final estimated clutch torque value is:
Where the clutch torque final predicted value Thereby estimating the clutch torque.
In the
As described above, the method of predicting the clutch torque can be applied not only when the slip occurs in the clutch engagement and disengagement process, but also when the engagement is completed. That is, a tuning parameter that is a gain having a positive value Is varied according to the clutch speed, it is possible to predict the transmission torque relatively accurately even in the clutch engaged state. like this Is set to a value dynamically set according to the clutch speed.
Meanwhile, Can be used to select which of the values of the speed sensor measurement value and the engine torque value is given a greater weight. That is, if the value of the speed sensor is more accurate To a smaller value, and conversely if the engine torque value is more reliable Is set to a large value.
For example, if it is determined from the calculated data that the accuracy of the speed sensor measurement value calculated by the ECU is in advance with the accuracy of the engine torque value and the accuracy of the speed sensor measurement value is high and more reliable, Is set to a value smaller than a preset reference value, whereas when the accuracy of the engine torque value is high and it is determined that the engine torque value is more reliable, May be set to a value larger than a preset reference value. Within the scope of such technical ideas, It is needless to say that various methods can be selected in detail.

In the case of FIG. 7 under the same condition as in FIG. 3, noise is included in the speed measurement signal. However, in the case of FIG. 7, a graph showing the result of correction using the engine torque according to the present invention shows that the predicted value of the clutch torque converges to the actual torque value. Therefore, it can be seen that the new prediction method according to the present invention as described with reference to FIGS. 4 and 5 has a noise-robust performance as compared with a predictor that depends only on the existing drive shaft torque. Further, prediction performance close to the actual torque value can be obtained. Also, as described above with reference to FIG. 4 The clutch torque predicted value can be more reliably determined according to the accuracy of the drive shaft speed and the engine torque.
