Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a solar cell including a silver paste composition capable of producing a solar cell electrode having high electrical properties and electrode characteristics and an electrode made using the same.
The solar cell is an electronic device that converts solar energy directly into electricity. An N + layer, an antireflection film, and a front electrode are formed on the light receiving surface side of the silicon wafer substrate, and a P + layer and a rear electrode are formed on the opposite surface side. For better electron mobility in the P + layer, an N + layer is typically formed on a P-type silicon wafer substrate to form a P-N junction, but the locations of the N + and P + layers may be reversed.
When a solar cell is irradiated with sunlight, electrons (-) and holes (+) are generated in the inside, electrons (-) move to the N + layer and holes (+) move to the P + layer, A potential difference is generated between the layer and the N + layer. At this time, when the load is connected, a current is generated and the solar energy can be converted into electric energy.
An important factor for improving the power generation characteristics of the solar cell is the characteristics of the electrode. Electrodes formed on both sides of the wafer are formed by printing a paste containing conductive powder, glass frit, and organic vehicle using a screen printing method, and drying and firing. In the case of the front electrode, silver Ag) paste is used for the heat treatment. Since the electrode of the solar cell is coated on the silicon wafer, the electrode should be in electrical negative contact with the silicon and good adhesion. During the formation of the electrode, the silver component should permeate to some extent into the surface layer of the P-N junction, so that the generated electric energy can be recovered as much as possible.
Various methods have been proposed to increase the power generation efficiency of solar cells. For example, Japanese Laid-Open Patent Publication No. 2006-339342 proposes a method of forming a layered electrode by printing and firing a conductive paste on two sides of a light receiving surface. However, this method can increase the manufacturing process of the solar cell, thereby increasing the manufacturing time and cost.

Hereinafter, the present invention will be described in more detail.
The silver (Ag) powder is a conductive metal that imparts electrical characteristics to a composition for forming a front electrode of a solar cell. In the present invention, the silver powder includes not only pure silver powder but also silver oxide, silver alloy, silver compound, A material capable of precipitating silver powder is also included, and these materials may be used singly or in a mixture of two or more kinds.
The shape of the silver powder can be applied without any particular limitation as long as the shape is known in the art. For example, a spherical shape, a flake shape, or a combination thereof may be used, but the present invention is not limited thereto.
The particle diameter of the silver powder can be adjusted to an appropriate range in consideration of the desired sintering speed and the influence in the process of forming the electrode. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the average particle size (d50) of the silver powder may have a size of about 0.5 to 4 mu m, but is not limited thereto.
In the present invention, the powder is preferably selected from of the tap density (Td, ASTM B319-06) 4.5 to 5.5g / cm 3. The light conversion efficiency of the solar cell made of the silver paste can be further maximized when the tap density of the silver powder is within the above range. The silver powder of the present invention can be used by using the silver powder having a preferable tap density alone or by mixing silver powder having two or more kinds of silver powder having different average particle diameters. When mixed, it is preferable that the mixed whole be included in the above-mentioned range of the tap density of the powder.
Silver powder having a purity of 80% or more, preferably 95% or more can be used, but is not particularly limited as long as it is a purity for satisfying the conditions generally required for the electrode.
The silver powder may be contained in an amount of about 60 to 95 wt%, preferably about 70 to about 85 wt%, based on 100 wt% of the entire paste composition. If the amount of the silver powder is less than 60 wt%, the viscosity of the paste is lowered or phase separation occurs, and there is a problem in the printability. If the silver powder is more than 95 wt%, the viscosity of the paste is increased and printing becomes difficult and the price may increase.
Silver powder may be contained in the paste composition in an amount of about 80 to 99% by weight based on 100% by weight of the total solid content in the solid content excluding the organic solvent.
The glass frit of the present invention is characterized by containing PbO, TeO 2 , SiO 2 , Al 2 O 3 , ZnO and Bi 2 O 3 , and a weight ratio of TeO 2 and PbO of 1: 1.7-2.5.
TeO 2 serves to lower the viscosity of the glass frit and to control the reactivity between the paste and the anti-reflective coating. When the viscosity of the glass component is low during the interfacial reaction, the probability of contact between the PbO and the antireflection film is increased, and etching may occur in more areas.
Further, the present invention uses TeO 2 and PbO in combination. When TeO 2 alone is used for the glass frit, there is a problem that the photo-conversion efficiency is increased while the adhesion is decreased. However, the present invention solves this problem by using PbO in combination. PbO prevents deterioration of the adhesion without deteriorating the photoconversion efficiency of the solar cell.
In the present invention, the weight ratio of TeO 2 : PbO is 1: 1.7 to 2.5. It is possible to increase the efficiency of the solar cell by reducing the contact resistance by preventing the shunt problem due to the excessive etching and preventing the reaction with the antireflection film. TeO 2: the ratio by weight of PbO 1: If more than 2.5 and a lot of PbO component, the so-called shunt (shunt) occurs through the emitter layer by over-etching is a problem in that the emitter layer is destroyed generated, and conversely TeO 2: If the weight ratio of PbO is less than 1: 1.7 and the amount of TeO 2 is large, etching is performed in a wide range with a low transition temperature (Tg, ° C), but the etching ability is decreased and the reaction with the anti- There arises a problem that the light conversion efficiency is decreased by increasing the contact resistance.
In the glass frit of the present invention, SiO 2, Al 2 O 3, ZnO, and B2O 3 which further comprises in addition to TeO 2 and PbO is when the interface reaction and to form a stable glass phase, thereby increasing the adhesion strength between the substrate and the electrode.
Preferably, the glass frit of the present invention may contain 50 to 70 wt% of PbO and TeO 2 , and 30 to 50 wt% of SiO 2 , Al 2 O 3 , ZnO and Bi 2 O 3 . PbO, TeO 2, SiO 2, Al 2 O 3, ZnO and Bi 2 if the content of O 3 component contained in the range described above, the photoelectric conversion efficiency of a solar cell made of a silver paste containing the glass frit There is an advantage of being maximized.
More specifically, the glass frit of the present invention, PbO 35 to 45wt%, TeO 2 15 to 25wt%, SiO 2 10 to 20wt%, Al 2 O 3 5 to 15wt%, ZnO 5 to 10wt% and Bi 2 O 3 5 to 15 wt%. PbO, TeO 2, SiO 2, Al 2 O 3, ZnO and Bi 2 if the content of O 3 component contained in the range described above, the photoelectric conversion efficiency of a solar cell made of a silver paste containing the glass frit There is an advantage of being maximized.
If necessary, the glass frit of the present invention may further contain 0 to 10 wt% of at least one selected from the group consisting of B 2 O 3 , Li 2 O, Na 2 O and ZrO 2 . B 2 O 3 , Li 2 O, Na 2 O and ZrO 2 can form a stable glass phase during the interfacial reaction and further enhance the adhesion between the substrate and the electrode.
The glass frit formed by the constituent components of the present invention is characterized in that the etching occurs in a wider range and the area of the front electrode formed by recrystallization of silver becomes wider and the contact resistance between the substrate and the front electrode is also more resistant than in the prior art, The efficiency of the cell is improved, and the contact strength between the substrate and the front electrode is further improved.
The glass frit may be contained in an amount of about 0.1 to 10 wt% relative to 100 wt% of the entire paste composition. It is possible to maintain a sufficiently low viscosity during the interfacial reaction within the above-mentioned content range, to make the contact resistance between the substrate and the front electrode very low, and to maintain excellent contact strength.
The components of the glass frit are melted together under atmospheric pressure to break the intermolecular bonds and lose their properties as metal oxides. In the molten state, the components are homogeneously mixed, and after that, . In the melting process, the melting temperature can be selected without particular limitation if the temperature at which each constituent component is sufficiently melted. For example, it may be about 900 to 1,500 DEG C, but is not limited thereto. In the melting process, the melting time is not particularly limited as long as the above-mentioned melting temperature is maintained and all the components are sufficiently melted, and can be appropriately selected according to the constituent components and the melting temperature. For example, it may be about 10 minutes to 1 hour, but is not limited thereto.

For example, a cellulose derivative such as ethyl cellulose, methyl cellulose, propyl cellulose, or a carboxyl group-containing photosensitive resin that is a copolymer of an unsaturated carboxylic acid compound and a compound having an unsaturated double bond, an unsaturated carboxylic acid compound A carboxyl group-containing photosensitive resin in which an ethylenically unsaturated group is added to a copolymer of a compound having an unsaturated double bond as a pendant group, a carboxyl group-containing resin having no ethylenically unsaturated double bond, or an acid anhydride having an unsaturated double bond, A carboxyl group-containing resin such as a carboxyl group-containing photosensitive resin obtained by reacting a copolymer of a compound and a compound having a hydroxyl group and an unsaturated double bond, an acrylic resin, an alkyd resin, a polypropylene resin, a polyvinyl chloride resin, Urethane-based resins, rosin based resins, terpene-based resins, but can use a polyether-based resin, urea based resin, and the like.
The binder may be contained in an amount of about 1 to 20 wt% relative to 100 wt% of the entire paste composition. If the content of the binder is less than 1 wt%, the distribution of the binder in the electrode pattern to be formed may become uneven, and patterning by selective exposure and development may become difficult. When the content exceeds 20 wt%, pattern collapse And the resistance of the electrode can be increased by the organic ash after carbonization.

The solvent may be contained in an amount of about 1 to 20 wt% relative to 100 wt% of the entire paste composition. When the content of the solvent is less than 1 wt%, it may be difficult to uniformly apply the paste. The present invention also provides a front electrode for a solar cell formed using the above silver paste composition.
The front electrode is formed through a process of printing, drying and firing the above silver paste composition on a wafer substrate. The printing method may be screen printing or the like, and is not particularly limited.
The present invention also provides a solar cell including the front electrode.
The solar cell comprises a substrate of a first conductivity type; An emitter layer of a second conductivity type formed on the substrate; An antireflection film formed on the emitter layer; A front electrode formed through the antireflection film and connected to the emitter layer using the silver paste composition; And a rear electrode formed on the back surface of the substrate.
예를 들어, P+층 형성을 위해 B, Ga, In이 도핑되고, N+층 형성을 위해 P, As, Sb가 도핑될 수 있다. The substrate of the first conductivity type is selected from P-type or N-type. The emitter layer of the second conductivity type is selected to have the opposite conductivity type to the substrate. For the formation of the P + layer, a group III element is doped as an impurity and a group 5 element is doped as an impurity for the formation of an N + layer. For example, B, Ga, In may be doped to form a P + layer, and P, As, and Sb may be doped to form an N + layer. A P-N junction is formed at the interface between the substrate and the emitter layer, which is a portion that receives sunlight to generate a current by the photovoltaic effect. Electrons and holes generated by the photovoltaic effect are attracted to the P layer and the N layer, respectively, and are moved to the electrodes bonded to the lower part of the substrate and the upper part of the emitter layer, and electricity generated here can be used by applying a load to the electrodes.
The antireflection film reduces the reflectance of sunlight incident on the front surface of the solar cell. When the reflectance of solar light is reduced, the amount of light reaching the P-N junction is increased, short circuit current of the solar cell is increased, and conversion efficiency of the solar cell is improved.
The antireflection film may have any one single film selected from, for example, a silicon nitride film, a silicon nitride film including hydrogen, a silicon oxide film, and a silicon oxynitride film, or a multi-film structure formed by combining two or more films.
The front electrode and the rear electrode can be manufactured by various known techniques, but are preferably formed by screen printing.
The front electrode is formed by screen printing at the front electrode formation point using the silver paste composition of the present invention and then performing heat treatment. When the heat treatment is performed, the front electrode penetrates the antireflection film and is connected to the emitter layer by the punch through phenomenon.
The back electrode is formed by printing a paste composition containing aluminum as a conductive metal on the back surface of the substrate and then performing heat treatment. During the heat treatment of the rear electrode, aluminum may diffuse through the backside of the substrate to form a backside layer at the backside electrode and substrate interface. When the rear whole layer is formed, it is possible to prevent carriers from moving to the rear surface of the substrate and recombine, thereby improving the conversion efficiency of the solar cell.
