Description
The present invention relates to a molten steel refining method of austenitic stainless steel for strip casting, and more particularly, to increase the target component allowable range of sulfur and oxygen in molten steel as compared to hot rolled materials, while simplifying deflow operation and having excellent heat resistance. And it relates to a molten steel refining method of austenitic stainless steel for strip casting to adjust the temperature.
In general, austenitic stainless steel is excellent in corrosion resistance and non-magnetic, and is used in kitchen containers, heavy chemical industries, and interior and exterior materials of buildings.
A general method for refining stainless steel is known in detail in "Fixing and Refining Methods for Austenitic Stainless Steels (Patent 10-0844794)", "Method for Refining Stainless Steels (Patent 10-0947434)", and the like.
In general, austenitic stainless steel is produced by using molten metal produced in an electric furnace process. The molten metal produced in an electric furnace process has high carbon content and contains a considerable amount of impurities such as silicon and sulfur, which is high in hardness and brittle. Has In order to make these molten metals stretch well and make a strong steel, it is necessary to reduce the amount of carbon through the refining process and remove impurities.
The steelmaking process is carried out through refining process (AOD, Argon Oxygen Decarburization), ingredient adjustment process (LT, Ladle Treatment), continuous casting process (C / C). At this time, after the refining process (AOD) may further include a vacuum decarburization (VOD, Vaccum Oxygen Decarburizatin) process.
The refining process takes place in a refining furnace, where desulfurization and deoxidation are carried out by decarburization and the production of slag. That is, in the refining step AOD, a mixed gas of argon (Ar) and oxygen (O 2 ) or a mixed gas of nitrogen (N 2 ) and oxygen (O 2 ) is blown into the molten metal. When oxygen (O 2 ) is supplied into the molten steel, the deoxygenation reaction proceeds while the supplied oxygen (O 2 ) is combined with carbon (C) in the molten metal to generate CO or CO 2 .
Vacuum decarburization (VOD) is a vacuum decarburization of high chrome molten steel. Vacuum decarburization in vacuum decarburization generally uses molten steel preliminarily decarburized in a previous step. In the vacuum decarburization process, argon is injected into the vacuum container by argon (Ar) gas through a porous plug installed at the bottom of the ladle, and oxygen is blown from the lance installed at the top while stirring molten steel to perform decarburization. The productivity is lower than that of the refining process (AOD), but is suitable for the production of ultra low carbon (C) and nitrogen (N) steels of high chromium ferrite type.
After the ingredient adjustment process (LT, Ladle Treatment) is adjusted by stirring after deoxidation. The component adjustment process is the final process for hitting components and temperatures in molten steel.
In the continuous casting process, molten steel tapped to a specific temperature is transferred to a caster column through a ladle turret and then injected into a tundish, an intermediate container. In tundish, the molten steel is separated from the molten steel, and molten steel is continuously injected into the mold to cool the molten steel first, followed by sprinkling the coolant on the surface of the first cooled slab that exits the mold. According to the molten steel to produce a cast steel.
The cast steel thus produced is in the form of a semi-finished product such as slab, and the produced slab is produced as a final product such as a coil through hot rolling and cold rolling, which are subsequent processes.
During hot rolling of the slab, cracks are generated on the surface of the rolled slab. [S] and [O] contained in molten steel act as main factors of crack generation. Accordingly, in order to produce a conventional stainless steel in the steelmaking process, the target content of [S] is 5ppm level, and dehydration and deoxidation are performed so that the target content of [O] is 30ppm level.
In particular, in order to achieve the target content of [S] to the desired level, reduction and dehydration is carried out.
Reduction and desulfurization is carried out by adding Si used as a deoxidizer into molten steel and reacting Si and O to produce SiO2. Then, slag basicity adjusting agent such as quicklime is added to adjust the basicity of slag to an appropriate level. In order to achieve the target content of [S] to 5ppm level, it is not achieved by carrying out one reduction reduction dehydration operation only once by stirring molten steel. Charging and reduction and dehydration operation had to be performed once again.
Therefore, in order to refine molten steel of the conventional stainless steel, the deflow operation is complicated, and thus there is a disadvantage in that the operation time is long.
The present invention provides a method for refining molten steel of austenitic stainless steel for strip casting that simplifies the degassing step in the steelmaking process of molten steel.
In particular, casting stainless steel by strip casting can eliminate the hot rolling process in the final product production, thereby reducing the amount of target components of [S] and [O] that must be achieved to prevent cracking during the hot rolling process. In accordance with the above, there is provided a molten steel refining method of austenitic stainless steel for strip casting to simplify the degassing step.

In addition, the content of Mn, Cr, Ni should be in the above range to obtain the desired corrosion resistance and austenite phase.
In addition, P and S act as impurities and may cause cracks when processed into products, so they should be lower than 0.035% and 0.0030%, respectively. However, compared to the general process that requires hot rolling, strip casting is not aimed at extremely low [S] and [O] since hot rolling is omitted and high temperature brittleness does not occur.
In addition, when the Cu content is higher than 0.6%, it may cause defects due to Cu precipitation.
And, if the content of N is less than 100ppm, the grain refinement is insufficient, and if the content of N is higher than 200ppm, the elongation is lowered, thereby impairing workability.
On the other hand, when Mo is added, corrosion resistance increases, but since it is an expensive raw material, it is not added additionally.
Therefore, the above components should be worked without departing from the respective ranges described above.
It will be described in detail step by step the refining method of molten steel for producing austenitic stainless steel for strip casting having the composition as described above.
First, the decarburization step is a step in which decarburization is performed while blowing oxygen and an inert gas into a refining furnace loaded with molten steel to adjust the content of carbon components in the molten steel.
In other words, while molten metal is charged into the refining furnace of the refining equipment, decarburization is performed by blowing oxygen and argon using the top lance and the tuyer as the top and the back.
In this step, decarburization is performed so that the content of the carbon component is 0.045% by weight. In particular, decarburization is carried out only up to 0.045% by weight, which is the content of the target carbon component, and decarburization is carried out so as not to carry out additional carbonization in the subsequent step. At this time, when the carbon content is decarburized at 0.045% by weight or more, further decarburization is required. When the carbon content is decarburized at 0.045% by weight or less, the temperature of the molten steel is increased excessively. In order to reduce the temperature in the process, additional coolant is added and additional charcoal is required, so decarburization is set and carried out so that the carbon content is 0.045% by weight.
When the decarburization step is completed, deoxidation and dehydration are carried out by input of side materials.
In the deoxidation step, the deoxidation is carried out by adding the above subsidiary materials, while the content of the Si component should be adjusted to be 3.00 to 4.00% by weight, so that the operation is performed by setting the target to 3.30% by weight.
For this purpose, it is preferable to use silicon as the secondary raw material.
During the deoxidation reaction by silicon, SiO2 is generated by deoxidation reaction, and the SiO2 thus formed forms slag together with quicklime that is added as an auxiliary material. At this time, slag and molten steel are stirred by maintaining the basicity of slag at an appropriate level. While dehydration reaction, that is, reduced dehydration is to be made.
Reduction and dehydration proceeds with deoxidation by adding Si, which is used as a deoxidizer, in molten steel to react with Si and O to form SiO2, and then adding slag basicity regulator such as quicklime to adjust the basicity of slag. After the slag and molten steel is stirred to perform dehydration, in which case the target content of [S] is 10 ppm level, so that only one operation can achieve the target content of [S]. As the desorption step is simplified, the time and cost required for the desorption step can be reduced. In particular, after completion of the desulphurization step, the high [S] subsidiary materials (U-Ni, Fe-Mo) are allowed to hit the target [S] by one reduction reduction dehydration operation.
At this time, the time for stirring the molten steel is ensured to 10 minutes or more and 15 minutes or less. If the stirring time is less than 10 minutes, sufficient stirring is not made and if the stirring time is 15 minutes or more, the stirring effect is not increased compared to the secured time.
The molten steel thus adjusted is removed from the refining furnace and transferred to the strip casting equipment.
