Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to execution of a grip mode in a portable electronic device, and more particularly, a grip mode in a portable electronic device that recognizes and processes a user's gripped and manipulated method of a left hand, right hand or both hands. An execution method and a portable electronic device thereof.
Recently, due to the development of mobile communication technology and computing devices, most people own not only general mobile phones but also portable electronic devices such as smartphones and tablet PCs.
Users can enjoy not only multimedia, such as video, but also games anytime, anywhere using mobile electronic devices. Moreover, the use of the Internet is rapidly increasing due to the development of communication technology. In response to this trend, portable electronic devices recently released have been equipped with larger display sizes.
For example, early smartphones had a display size of about 3.3 inches, but recently, smartphones with a display having a size of 5 inches or more have become popular with users.
Increasing the display size means that the size of the electronic device itself increases, which may cause inconvenience in carrying and operating. For example, if you want to do something with the same hand while holding the portable electronic device with one hand, you may not be able to reach a part of the touch screen and eventually use another hand. In other words, in general, a one-handed gripping is usually performed with a thumb while holding a portable electronic device with four fingers and a palm except for a thumb. When the size of a display equipped with a touch screen is large There is an area that does not reach, which makes the input uncomfortable.
Accordingly, the present invention has been made to solve the above-described problems, and recognizes how the user grasps and performs an operation, and executes the gripping mode in the portable electronic device to provide a user interface suitable for the recognized gripping mode. A method and a portable electronic device are provided.
Other objects of the present invention will become more apparent through the following preferred embodiments.
According to an aspect of the present invention, there is provided a method of executing a gripping mode of a portable electronic device having a touch screen, the method comprising: outputting an interface screen for unlocking; Generating contact type information, which is information on at least one of a contact shape and a contact area according to a specific point where the finger is contacted, by using contact information when the user touches a finger on the touch screen to release the lock; ; Determining a gripping mode corresponding to the contact method information; And, if the unlocking is successful according to the contact information, providing a user interface corresponding to the gripping mode and a recording medium on which a method for executing the gripping mode is recorded.
Here, the gripping mode may be recognized as one of a left hand mode, a right hand mode, and a two hand mode according to the contact method information, and a user interface screen may be output such that the size and display position of the initial screen vary according to the gripping mode.
The specific point may be at least one of a point where the finger first and last touches the touch screen.
In addition, when the input user input is recognized as preset change information, the method may further include changing the gripping mode to correspond to the change information and providing a user interface according to the changed gripping mode.
If the inclination of the main body is recognized by the inclination sensor, the inclination direction can be processed as the change information.
According to another aspect of the invention, the display unit having a touch screen; When the interface screen for unlocking is output on the display, the contact information and the contact area according to a specific point where the finger is touched are used by using the contact information that the user touches the touch screen to release the lock. A contact method information acquiring unit for generating contact method information which is information on at least one; A holding mode recognition unit determining a holding mode corresponding to the contact method information; And a UI processing unit configured to output a user interface corresponding to the gripping mode through the display unit when the unlocking is successful according to the contact information.
The specific point may be at least one of a point where the finger first and last touches the touch screen.
The apparatus may further include an inclination sensor unit sensing an inclination of the main body, and when the inclination and inclination directions are recognized by the inclination sensor unit, the gripping mode may be changed to correspond to the inclination direction.
According to the present invention, by recognizing how the user grasps and performs an operation, it is possible to provide a user interface suitable for the recognized gripping mode.
In addition, according to the present invention, by using the existing touch screen of the portable electronic device to recognize the gripping mode, it is possible to recognize the gripping mode only by the production of software without additional hardware configuration, thereby preventing cost increase.
Further, according to the present invention, by recognizing the gripping mode using a user operation for releasing the locked state, it is not necessary for the user to perform a separate operation for input of the gripping mode.
