Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION 1. Field of the Invention The present invention relates to a solid oxide fuel cell and a method for manufacturing the same, and more particularly, to a solid oxide fuel cell and a method for manufacturing the same having increased sealing efficiency in manufacturing a solid oxide fuel cell.
Fuel cells convert chemical energy generated by oxidation directly into electrical energy, which is a new environmentally friendly future energy technology that generates electrical energy from materials rich in the earth such as hydrogen and oxygen.
The fuel cell is supplied with oxygen to the cathode and hydrogen to the anode to perform electrochemical reactions in the form of electrolysis and reverse reaction of water, thereby generating electricity, heat, and water without causing pollution. Produce electric energy with high efficiency.
Such a fuel cell can increase the efficiency of 40% or more because it is free from the limitation of Carnot Cycle, which acts as a limit in the conventional heat engine. In addition, there is no fear of environmental pollution since only the substance discharged as described above is water. In addition, unlike the conventional heat engine, since the mechanically moving part is unnecessary, there are various advantages such as miniaturization and no noise. Therefore, research and technology development related to fuel cells are actively progressing.
Depending on the type of electrolyte, the fuel cell may be a phosphate fuel cell (PAFC), a molten carbonate fuel cell (MCFC), a solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC), or a polymer electrolyte fuel. Six types of batteries (PEMFC, Polymer Electrolyte Membrane Fuel Cell), methanol fuel cells (DMFC), and alkaline fuel cells (AFC) are available or planned.

Among these, the solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) is relatively easy to control the position of the electrolyte, the position of the electrolyte is fixed, there is no risk of electrolyte exhaustion. In addition, due to the advantage of the long life of the material is poor corrosive has been spotlighted as distributed power generation, commercial and home.
The following equation shows the operating principle of the solid oxide fuel cell. When oxygen is supplied to the cathode and hydrogen is supplied to the anode, the reaction follows the equation below.
연료극(Anode) 반응 : 2H2 + 2O2 - → 2H2O + 4e- A fuel electrode (Anode) reaction: 2H 2 + 2O 2 - → 2H 2 O + 4e -
Solid oxide fuel cells typically use yttria-stabilized zirconia (YSZ) as electrolyte, Ni-YSZ cermet as fuel electrode, and perovskite material as cathode. Oxygen ions are used as mobile ions.
1 is a cross-sectional view showing a solid oxide fuel cell according to the prior art.
In the solid oxide fuel cell according to the related art, the
When the
In particular, when the bonding layer of the cell edge portion is oxidized, the peeling phenomenon occurs very fatally, and the
Disclosure of Invention An object of the present invention is to solve the above-described problems, and in the manufacture of a solid oxide fuel cell, a solid oxide fuel cell capable of preventing oxidation of a bonding layer at a cell edge and minimizing leakage of fuel gas; It is to provide a method of manufacturing the same.
In order to achieve the above object, the solid oxide fuel cell of the present invention includes a ceramic cell including a fuel electrode and an electrolyte formed on an upper surface of the fuel electrode, and a fuel electrode formed on an upper surface of the ceramic cell, wherein the electrolyte is a fuel electrode. It is formed to surround the side of the.
The electrolyte is formed to surround the bottom edge of the anode.
The solid oxide fuel cell of the present invention further includes a support bonded to the bottom of the ceramic cell to support the ceramic cell and the fuel electrode.
The anode is formed by mixing nickel oxide (NIO) powder and yttria stabilized zirconia (YSZ) powder in a weight ratio of 4: 6 to 6: 4.
The bonding layer formed between the ceramic cell and the support is formed by mixing the metal component powder and the anode component powder in a weight ratio of 2: 8 to 8: 2.
The method of manufacturing a solid oxide fuel cell of the present invention includes forming a bonding layer between the ceramic cell and the support, and integrally bonding the ceramic cell, the bonding layer and the support through a sintering process.
In the sintering step, the temperature rising and isothermal processes are repeated for about 20 to 24 hours within a range of 5 to 1500 ° C., and the predetermined temperature is maintained at the highest temperature section, and then the temperature is lowered to room temperature.

According to the solid oxide fuel cell according to the present invention, the electrolyte is formed so as to surround the side as well as the upper surface of the anode, the edge of the bonding layer fatal to peeling oxygen ions in the process of oxygen ions are transferred to the anode through the electrolyte and oxidized The longer the path of travel to reach, the greater the protection against oxidation. Therefore, there is no fear that the ceramic cell and the support may be separated, thereby ensuring the stability of the bonding layer during long term operation. In addition, it is possible to minimize the leakage of fuel gas. This property is greater when the electrolyte is formed to wrap up to the bottom edge of the anode.
In addition, according to the solid oxide fuel cell according to the present invention, since a certain amount of hydrogen gas is included in the reducing atmosphere required in the sintering process, the bonding is easily performed.
