Description
The present invention relates to a technology capable of storing carbon dioxide (CO 2 ), and more particularly, to a carbon dioxide storage device using a titanate nanotube (TiO 2 nanotube, TNT) doped with a metal and an oxide of the metal.
Has been recently emerged concerns about environmental issues, particularly when under the Kyoto Protocol, and trapping the carbon dioxide (CO 2) is essentially generated using the techniques and fossil fuels capable of reducing the generation of carbon dioxide (CO 2), storage Interest in technology is increasing.
However, although carbon dioxide (CO 2 ) can be separated and collected using zeolite or the like, research on a reservoir for storing carbon dioxide has not been actively conducted yet.
For the technology of storing carbon dioxide (CO 2 ), a porous absorption chain for carbon dioxide storage has recently been reported in the United States using the Covalent Organic Famework, a thermally stable, highly functional crystalline organic network. have.
Since the porous material is chemically combined with CO 2 , if temperature and pressure conditions are not met, it is impossible to collect the whole amount, and CO 2 is difficult to recycle because the temperature at which CO 2 is separated is also high. In addition, in the case of the porous material as described above, the carbon dioxide storage capacity is only about 1g of carbon dioxide stored per 1g of porous material at room temperature.
In order to develop the porous material, the manufacturing process is very complicated, the manufacturing cost of the porous material itself is very high, and the price / capacity storage capacity is very low, and thus it is not easy to apply industrially.
Carbon nanotubes (CNTs) can also store carbon dioxide. However, in the case of the CNT, there is a problem that all CNT storage materials suffer from, namely, that the carbon dioxide physically adsorbed in the nanotube is not easily separated by simple or external temperature and pressure, and thus it is impossible to recycle it except for simple storage. . In addition, the CNT has a disadvantage in that it is not easy to store a large amount of carbon dioxide in large-scale facilities such as steel mills and power plants because the manufacturing conditions of the CNT itself is very complicated and the manufacturing cost for manufacturing it is very high.
Therefore, in a situation where reduction of carbon dioxide (CO 2 ) is on the rise at home and abroad, not only a technology capable of reducing carbon dioxide, but also a technology capable of storing carbon dioxide and recycling the stored carbon dioxide is required. Therefore, in order to meet the above demand, research on the storage technology of carbon dioxide is urgently needed.
The present invention provides a carbon dioxide storage device capable of increasing the storage rate of carbon dioxide by packing a metal and an oxide doped titanate nanotube (TiO 2 nanotube) in a high pressure gas tank.
One example of the present invention includes a high pressure gas tank capable of storing carbon dioxide (CO 2 ),
At least one powder storage chamber is inserted into the high pressure gas tank,
The powder storage chamber provides a carbon dioxide storage device using titanate nanotubes, wherein the titanate nanotube particles doped with metal and oxides of the metal are filled.
According to the present invention, it is possible to recover and efficiently store carbon dioxide discharged from steelworks, factories, power plants, etc., which have a large amount of carbon dioxide emissions, and to recover the stored carbon dioxide by a catalyst or a solution and recover it as a resource such as ethanol or methanol.
The present invention includes a high pressure gas tank capable of storing carbon dioxide (CO 2 ), and packing titanium and titanium oxide-doped titanate nanotubes (TNT) into the high pressure gas tank. It is. At least one powder storage chamber is inserted into the high pressure gas tank, and the powder storage chamber is filled with titanate nanotube particles doped with metal.
Hereinafter, the carbon dioxide storage device of the present invention will be described in detail with reference to FIG. 1. 1 illustrates an example of a carbon dioxide storage device of the present invention, and the present invention is not limited to FIG. 1.
As shown in FIG. 1, the carbon dioxide storage device of the present invention includes a high
Preferably, at least one
The
The
The
Titanate nanotubes (TNT, 103) particles doped with metal and oxides of the metal are filled in the
In the present invention, by filling the metal and the metal oxide-doped titanate nanotubes in the powder storage chamber, carbon dioxide (CO 2 ) powder particles having a size of about 0.33 nm is located in the empty space of the layer, Storage is made, which allows more carbon dioxide to be stored.
The metal doped with the titanate nanotube mainly includes a transition metal, and examples thereof include Fe, Ni, Cr, V, Cu, W, Co, Zn, Zr, and the like. It is preferable to include the oxide of.
When the metal is doped, it is added as a dopant in the present invention because the innerlayer spacing of the nanotubes can be increased to increase the space where carbon dioxide can be stored. In addition, the oxide is loaded on the surface of the nanotubes in the form of an oxide (oxide) has the effect of acting as a catalyst in the carbon dioxide storage, that is, to accelerate the carbon dioxide storage.
The titanate nanotubes doped with the metal and oxides of the metal may be prepared by various methods.
According to the low temperature homogeneous precipitation method, titanium tetrachloride (TiCl 4 ) is reacted with water at low temperature to hydrolyze to form a titanyl chlorite solution, which is dried to obtain titanium hydroxide.
The titanium hydroxide is metastable to form a metastable metal doped titanate through mechanical alloying.
Metal-doped titanate nanotubes are formed using a hydrothermal synthesis method in which the metal-doped titanate is reacted with a strong alkaline aqueous solution (KOH, LiOH, NaOH).
Metal-doped titanate nanotubes prepared by the above method have empty spaces in the tubes, and the interlayer spacing between the multiple tubes is about 0.65 to 0.74 nm, so that the specific surface area is increased, and carbon dioxide (CO 2 ) There is a lot of room for molecules to be located.
Hereinafter, embodiments of the present invention will be described in detail. The following examples show one example of the present invention, and the present invention is not limited by the following examples.
(Example)
1. Preparation of Titanate Nanotubes
In this example, titanic tetrachloride (TiCl 4 : Aldrich trade name 3N) was mixed with ice water to prepare 1.5 M aqueous titanyl chloride solution by low temperature homogeneous precipitation. Then, distilled water was mixed with the aqueous titanyl chloride solution and diluted to 0.67M.
The diluted titanyl chloride aqueous solution was maintained at a temperature of 100 ° C. for 2 hours to form a precipitate of titanium hydroxide, which was then filtered using a filter paper to collect the precipitate, and dried at 60 ° C. for 6 hours. I was. Through this process, titanium hydroxide in metastable state was obtained. Titanium hydroxide (TiO 2 ) doped with metal was prepared by reacting the obtained titanium hydroxide with the metal powders through a mechanical alloying method, which is a solid phase reaction method. At this time, the metal used Ni.
Through the above process, Ni-doped titanate powder was deposited as a starting material in 10M strong alkali aqueous solution (NaOH), and then the Ti-O-Ti bond was changed to the Ti-O-Na bond. After the formation, the nanotube structure was formed in which the interlayer structure was rolled up by thermal energy by maintaining the temperature at 120 ° C. for 12 hours in an autoclave. The powder was then collected and dried at 60 ° C. for 12 hours to remove moisture in the powder.
상기 티타네이트 나노튜브 분말의 미세조직을 HRTEM(high resolution transmission electron microscope)을 통해 관찰하고, 그 결과를 도 2에 나타내었다. The microstructure of the titanate nanotube powder was observed through a high resolution transmission electron microscope (HRTEM), and the results are shown in FIG. 2.
As shown in Figure 2, the Ni-doped titanate nanotubes can be seen that the layer spacing is about 0.74 and 0.65nm. Thus, it can be seen that carbon dioxide molecules can be sufficiently located on the layer of the titanate nanotubes.
한편, 시편들의 패턴(patern)을 분석하기 위한 기준으로 (Ⅰ)에 Na2Ti3O7(JCPDS 72-0148)의 패턴, (Ⅱ)에 H2Ti3O7(JCPDS 41-0192)의 패턴, (Ⅲ)에 H2Ti2O5·H2O(JCPDS 47-0124)패턴을 나타내었다.
Meanwhile, the crystal structure of the titanate nanotube powder obtained after the process was analyzed through X-ray diffraction (XRD) and the results are shown in FIG. 3. In the XRD analysis graph of FIG. 3 (a), (1) shows the doped titanate nanotubes doped with Ni, (2) shows the undoped titanate nanotubes, and (3) the titanium heat-treated at 450 ° C. Nate nanotubes are shown. On the other hand, as a reference for analyzing the pattern (pattern) of the specimen (I) of the pattern of Na 2 Ti 3 O 7 (JCPDS 72-0148), (II) of H 2 Ti 3 O 7 (JCPDS 41-0192) In the pattern (III), a H 2 Ti 2 O 5 H 2 O (JCPDS 47-0124) pattern is shown.
3 (a), the crystal structure of the titanate nanotubes reported so far is reported as Na 2 Ti 3 O 7 (I) and H 2 Ti 3 O 7 (II). However, it can be seen from this report that the crystal structure of the titanate nanotubes prepared in this example is H 2 Ti 2 O 5 · H 2 O (III) structure.
In addition, as shown in (b) of FIG. 3, the doped titanate nanotubes (1) doped with Ni have a (200) plane, i.e., between the walls of the nanotubes, The distance is increasing. As shown in (c) of FIG. 3, it can be seen that (1) and (2) do not change even if dopant is added to the nanotube in the longitudinal direction because the (110) plane hardly changes.
Therefore, due to the doping of the metal and the oxide of the metal, it can be seen that the interlayer spacing of the titanate nanotubes is widened, and the carbon dioxide storage capacity is excellent.
2. Carbon dioxide storage capacity evaluation
In order to determine the carbon dioxide storage capacity of the metal-doped titanate nanotubes obtained as described above, the carbon dioxide storage capacity was evaluated using a high-pressure gas injection device.
At this time, the storage device used was a high-pressure gas tank having a capacity of 175 L, and the powder storage chamber was formed of six as shown in FIG. At this time, the stored carbon dioxide was confirmed to be stored up to 280ℓ.
On the other hand, by measuring the absorption amount of carbon dioxide to pressure, to confirm the carbon dioxide storage capacity of the metal-doped titanate nanotubes and the results are shown in Figure 4 the results.
The result of FIG. 4 shows that 1 g of Ni-doped titanate nanotube powder was charged into a holder, and then charged into a pressure-temperature-composition type apparatus (generally referred to as a PCT apparatus, Equipment to evaluate the hydrogen storage characteristics, and release the pressure in the high-pressure gas cylinder filled with carbon dioxide gas to flow carbon dioxide, thereby evaluating the absorption capacity of the powder.
4, it can be seen that as the pressure increases, the absorption amount of CO 2 continues to increase, and it can be seen that about 41 wt% of CO 2 is absorbed at 100 MPa. From the results of FIG. 4, the titanate nanopowders doped with metals and oxides of the metals applied in the present invention can confirm that CO 2 is continuously absorbed even when the specific surface area of the particles is increased to 100 MPa, resulting in excellent carbon dioxide storage. You can see that you have the ability.
