Description
The present invention relates to a hydrogen production system, and in particular, to maximize the heat exchange efficiency of the reforming reactor to produce hydrogen by reforming methane gas and steam, while actively utilizing the combustion gas used to heat the reforming reactor in the concentrated space. The present invention relates to a hydrogen production system that is energy efficient, space-saving, and easy to replace and maintain.
Generally, hydrogen is used in the chemical industry for the desulfurization of crude oil, in the production of ammonia and in the manufacture of chemical fertilizers, in the food sector, such as in the production of low-fat margarine, in the metallurgy and steel industry, such as in the heat treatment of metals, in the manufacture of semiconductors, in glass and It is used for manufacturing optical fiber, fuel and fuel cell of automobile.
Recently, the demand for hydrogen production apparatus that can be continuously supplied on a small scale in the field, such as fuel cells and hydrogen vehicles, is gradually increasing. More than half of the hydrogen currently used is obtained by reforming from natural gas or hydrocarbon, Others have been obtained from naphtha reforming, coal gasification, electrolysis and biomass.
Meanwhile, as a raw material reforming method, various methods such as steam reforming, oxygen reforming, and mixed reforming have been attempted. However, the commercialized process is steam reforming and most of hydrogen relies on such steam reforming.
In addition, the system used in the steam reforming method is generally composed of a steam generator, desulfurization reactor, reforming reactor, high temperature and low temperature conversion reactor (Water Gas Shift Reaction), etc., to effectively remove the carbon monoxide to be used as a hydrogen source of fuel cells In addition, an oxidation process for oxidizing carbon monoxide by adding oxygen is added, and an additional application of a pressure swing adsorption (PSA) device is required to remove other impurities other than carbon dioxide to obtain high purity hydrogen.
In general, reformer of a large-scale hydrogen plant performs reforming reaction by installing a reforming reactor in the form of a tube inside a large furnace. The thermal efficiency is considerably 60-70% despite the high temperature of 900-1000 ℃. It is known to fall.
In addition, reactors, high and low temperature conversion reactors, heat exchangers, steam generators, etc. are separately installed, so the overall size of the device is large and complex, and the overall thermal efficiency is low due to heat loss in the pipe insulation. There was a problem.
In addition, since the reactor is composed of a steam reforming unit and each reactor such as a reforming reactor, a high temperature and a low temperature conversion reactor, the reactivity is determined by the temperature of the catalyst bed, there is an appropriate operating temperature range for each reaction. In the case of the steam reforming reaction, Due to the strong endothermic reaction, the proper operating temperature range is generally known as 700-900 ℃, and in the case of high temperature and low temperature conversion reaction, it is a little exothermic but the temperature range is known as 400-500 ℃ and 200-300 ℃, respectively.
On the other hand, when the reforming unit is operated, the reforming reaction is an endothermic reaction. Therefore, the reforming reaction is used as a means for supplying heat to supply heat of reaction using a combustor, an electric heating element, or other heat sources. The remaining heat is recovered through a heat exchanger to recover some of the energy, but most of the energy is no longer available.
For example, Korean Patent 1997-25688 introduces a natural gas-type hydrogen generator, but in the former case, heat generated by catalytic combustion in a concentric reformer structure consisting of only a cylinder can be used for reforming reaction and steam generation. However, since the heat used in the reforming reaction can not be used effectively, the thermal efficiency is considerably reduced, and the cylindrical structure has a disadvantage of occupying a lot of installation space.
Hereinafter, a description will be given of the hydrogen production system according to the present invention with respect to each of the above components.
The
In addition, the casing (101a to 101h) is provided with the inlet of the fuel and air flowing into the
The reforming

As shown, the reforming
When the reforming
In addition, a plurality of
Thus, in the present invention, while ensuring the maximum heat exchange area with the combustion gas in both the inside and the outside of the reforming
In addition, the combustion gas dispersed and moved by the action of the

When the hydrogen production system according to the present invention is operated, the

In this process, the
Thereafter, the combustion gas passing through the
