The present invention relates to a hydrogen separation membrane and a method for manufacturing the same, and more particularly, to a micro-sized membrane for the selective separation of hydrogen used as a fuel of a fuel cell and a method for producing the same.
Recently, as the market size of portable electronic devices is rapidly expanding, the demand for batteries employed in portable electronic devices is diversified. Among them, fuel cells have high efficiency and noiselessness, and various types of fuels are available. In particular, as the power consumption of portable electronic devices increases and becomes smaller, research into fuel cells has become focused.
PEMFC (400), which is a polymer electrolyte fuel cell among fuel cells, has been developed in a variety of sizes from several tens of watts used in laptops to 100kW used in fuel cell vehicles. have. The fuel of the PEMFC 400 mainly uses compressed hydrogen or metal hydride. In particular, a fuel reformer is required when using methanol or gasoline as fuel.
1 is a view schematically showing a fine fuel cell process, and relates to a fuel cell system in which a hydrocarbon-based fuel is used to produce hydrogen and produce electricity using the same. Methanol and water are mixed together in the
Meanwhile, various membranes have been studied as separators for separating hydrogen. Separation membranes are largely divided into porous and nonporous membranes according to the pore size. Porous membranes are pores having a size of several nm or more formed on the surface of the membrane, and nonporous membranes are pores smaller than the pore size of the porous membrane. . Usually, a nonporous membrane is employ | adopted for the permeation | transmission of low molecular weight materials, such as gas molecule and an inorganic ion. The separation membrane may be classified into a composite membrane such as ceramics, glass membrane, acetyl cellulose, and sintered polymer membrane depending on the material.
As a non-porous membrane, a suitable metal material for the purpose of hydrogen separation is palladium, and a method for producing palladium as a separator has been studied in various ways. Ceramic membranes are also possible, but palladium is known to be more suitable for hydrogen separation because of its high selective transmittance to hydrogen. However, palladium has a price problem that it is an expensive metal, and there is a disadvantage that practical application is difficult except for the alloy form due to low mechanical strength. In particular, the thinner the membrane, the higher the hydrogen permeability, the higher the separation efficiency, but the thinner the membrane, the lower the mechanical strength, it is impossible to implement an infinitely thin.
The mechanical strength problem of the palladium separator described above is particularly aggravated in the micro-micro fuel cell to which the separator of the present invention is applied. In order to reduce the weight of the fuel cell, the weight of each component constituting it must be appropriately reduced, which means that a new ultra-small palladium separator having excellent mechanical strength is required.
Conventionally, in order to solve the mechanical strength, there has been a study using a palladium alloy as a separator material or using a reinforcing material such as AAO (anodized alumina oxide). However, the use of a palladium alloy has an undesired result of inhibiting the transmittance of hydrogen, and the reinforcing structure of the AAO has a problem of being destroyed in a high temperature environment such as a fuel cell due to heterogeneous structural coupling.
The present invention has been made to solve the problems of the prior art as described above, it is an object of the present invention to provide a hydrogen separation membrane and a method for preparing the same as well as excellent mechanical strength and durability, excellent separation performance of hydrogen. It is done.
The object is, according to the present invention, a first layer; A reinforcing layer positioned on one surface of the first layer and having a plurality of exposed holes for exposing the first layer; Located on the other side of the first layer, comprising a support layer formed along the edge of the first layer, the first layer and the reinforcement layer is achieved by a hydrogen separation membrane, characterized in that made of the same material.
Here, the method may further include a support layer and a second layer covering the first layer exposed by the support layer.
In addition, it is preferable that the first layer, the second layer, and the reinforcing layer include palladium in order to improve the characteristics of hydrogen separation.
In addition, the reinforcing layer is preferably provided in a honeycomb structure to improve the reinforcing performance.
The first layer has a thickness of 500 nm to 10 μm, the second layer has a thickness of 300 nm to 5 μm, the exposure hole has a diameter of 200 nm to 3 μm, and the reinforcing layer has a thickness of 100 μm to 200 μm. Here, the method may further include forming a second layer to cover the support layer and the first layer exposed by the support layer.
The first layer is formed by any one of a sputtering method and an evaporation method, and the second layer is formed by one of a sputtering method and a vacuum evaporation method. In addition, it is preferable that the first layer, the second layer and the reinforcing layer include palladium in order to improve the hydrogen separation characteristics.

As described above, according to the present invention, there is provided a hydrogen separation membrane and a method of manufacturing the same, which are excellent in mechanical strength and durability and excellent in separation performance of hydrogen, and also easy to manufacture.
In particular, the present invention is not only excellent in the selective transmittance of hydrogen by producing a thin palladium membrane of high purity, but also by improving the mechanical strength and durability by bonding the reinforcing layer of the honeycomb structure to the membrane.
Hereinafter, a hydrogen separation membrane and a method of manufacturing the same according to the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the accompanying drawings.
First, referring to FIGS. 2 and 3, the hydrogen separation membrane according to the first embodiment of the present invention will be described. 2 is a plan view of a hydrogen separation membrane according to a first embodiment of the present invention, and FIG. 3 is a cross-sectional view of a hydrogen separation membrane according to a first embodiment of the present invention.
As shown in FIGS. 2 and 3, the
First, the
The
The
The average diameter of the exposed
Hereinafter, a second embodiment according to the present invention will be described with reference to FIG. 4.
Thus, the
Hereinafter, a method of manufacturing the
First, as shown in FIG. 6A, after preparing a plate-shaped
감광막(25)으로는 PMMA(폴리메틸메타크릴레이트)를 사용하며, 감광막(25)은 MEMS(Micro Electro Mechanical System)에서 흔히 적용되는 LIGA(Lithographie, Galvanoformung, Abformung) 공정의 리지스트 구조(resist structure)로서 작용한다. Next, as shown in FIG. 6B, a
Then, as shown in Fig. 6C, an unexposed region of the
Next, as shown in Fig. 6D, palladium is filled in the
Thereafter, as shown in FIG. 6E, the remaining photosensitive film 25 (see FIG. 6D) is removed with an appropriate solvent to complete the formation of the reinforcing
Next, as shown in FIG. 6F, by removing the central portion of the back surface of the
Defects may occur in the
