BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION 1. Field of the Invention The present invention relates to a liquid crystal display (LCD) and a manufacturing method thereof, and more particularly, to a liquid crystal display (LCD) A liquid crystal having impregnated liquid crystal or impurities and a buffer region through which bubbles can flow can be formed so that a liquid crystal having a buffer layer capable of preventing deterioration of liquid crystal due to gravity deficiency of the liquid crystal layer due to excess liquid crystal, Display device and a method of manufacturing the same.
LCD, which is a type of flat panel display, is an apparatus which changes an optical anisotropy by applying an electric field to a liquid crystal which has fluidity of liquid crystal and optical properties of crystals. It consumes power more than conventional cathode ray tube Low in volume, small in size, and capable of high-definition and fine-sizing.
In general, an LCD is configured such that liquid crystal is sealed by a seal pattern between a transparent electrode pattern on a transparent glass substrate and an upper substrate on which a pixel electrode is formed and a common substrate on which a common electrode is formed.
The manufacturing process of the LCD can be divided into a substrate manufacturing process, a liquid crystal cell manufacturing process, and a module manufacturing process. In the liquid crystal cell manufacturing process, a seal material is printed on an upper substrate on which a color filter is formed, And the liquid crystal is injected into the space between the upper substrate and the lower substrate to seal the gap between the upper substrate and the lower substrate.
In a conventional general LCD manufacturing process step, a process of injecting liquid crystal into the cells of the upper and lower liquid crystal panels is performed as follows.
FIG. 1 is a plan view for illustrating a seal pattern of a conventional LCD, in which a plurality of unit cells are formed.
First, a pixel electrode made of a transparent electrode pattern is formed on a
Then, the two liquid crystal substrates are bonded.
Thereafter, scratches are made using a diamond tool or the like in the direction of the X and Y axes on a portion intended to be cut lines (not shown) between the
Then, a plurality of unit cells in the form of a unit cell or a stick are mounted on the fixture to make the inside of the
A step of injecting the liquid crystal injection process, through the liquid
The sealing step is also referred to as a sealing step and is a step of blocking the liquid crystal from flowing into the
Also, care must be taken to prevent contact with the outside when the cell moves or during the process, and it should be avoided that it is left to the outside for a long time because contact with the injection port may occur due to contamination when the liquid crystal is injected.
However, in the conventional cell fabrication process described above, since the liquid crystal injection method by the vacuum injection method is not a quantitative injection method in which a necessary amount of liquid crystal is calculated and a fixed amount is injected, Can be injected in excess.
Therefore, when the sealing process is performed in the state that the liquid crystal is excessively injected, a pressure is generated inside the liquid crystal cell due to the excessively injected liquid crystal, whereby the upper or lower glass substrate is bent, making it difficult to obtain a flat LCD panel. In order to prevent this phenomenon, a pressure sealing process for producing a flat cell by applying pressure to the middle part of the cell in the sealing process is used.
However, the above-described pressure sealing process increases the number of processes required for manufacturing the liquid crystal cell, thereby increasing the production cost. In addition, in the case of the LCD production speed, when the pressure process is omitted, about 30% Currently, the pressurized bag process in LCD production is the main factor for the decrease in production.
In addition, when the liquid crystal contains ions or organic impurities or bubbles, it is directly connected to display defects of the liquid crystal display device. Therefore, the liquid crystal used in the manufacture of the liquid crystal display device is highly refined and defoaming process is performed for a long time in a high- However, in the manufacturing process of the liquid crystal cell, organic impurities are generated due to the contact reaction between the sealing material and the liquid crystal, and unexpected infiltration of impurities due to contact with the outside in the dust and sealing process on the process line The liquid crystal may be contaminated. Therefore, even if impurities or bubbles are contained in the liquid crystal by the above-described method of manufacturing a liquid crystal cell, the liquid crystal cell can not be removed, resulting in a reduction in the yield due to deterioration of the liquid crystal.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION The present invention has been made to solve the above-described problems, and an object of the present invention is to provide a liquid crystal display device capable of forming a buffer layer on one surface or all surfaces of a space to be filled with liquid crystal simultaneously with a step of sealing- When excess liquid crystal is injected through the region, the excessively injected liquid crystal flows into the buffer region, and at the same time, impurities or bubbles in the liquid crystal flow into the buffer region to solve the gravity defect due to the excessive liquid crystal injection And liquid crystal contaminated by various impurities, bubbles, and the like can be effectively removed in the panel, and the uniformity of the cell gap can be maintained at the time of using the ball spacer, thereby providing a totally flat LCD panel and a manufacturing method thereof.
According to an aspect of the present invention, there is provided a liquid crystal display device including a first substrate on which a thin film transistor (TFT) is formed, a second substrate on which a color filter is formed, A seal pattern formed along an edge region of one of the first substrate and the second substrate and having an injection port having an opening at one side and a seal pattern formed inside the seal pattern in parallel with the seal pattern, A buffer line having a seal pattern and a trim, a valve formed at a distal end of the buffer line having the trim, and a liquid crystal layer formed between the first substrate and the second substrate.
In addition, a method of manufacturing the liquid crystal display device includes forming a buffer line on one or all surfaces of the liquid crystal injection layer formed by seal patterning at the same time or during seal patterning during the manufacturing process of the liquid crystal cell, A liquid crystal to be excessively injected into the buffer layer formed by the lines or various impurities and bubbles are flowed.
Hereinafter, a detailed description will be given with reference to the drawings.
FIG. 2 shows one embodiment according to the technical idea of the present invention. In this embodiment, a
The reason for placing the
In addition, the display characteristic deterioration phenomenon of the liquid crystal due to various impurities and bubbles in the liquid crystal is most frequently observed at the edge nearest to the injection port on the side where the injection port is located, and the reason why the position of the discharge port should be set as shown in Fig. .
The most general shape of the shape of the
