Abstract
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION 1. Field of the Invention The present invention relates to a driving circuit of a flat panel display device. In the related art, there is a problem in that brightness deviations of individual organic electroluminescent display devices are caused by panel dependence of the flat panel display device driving circuit. Although individual drive circuits should be used, in general, the design of a circuit means fabricating an integrated semiconductor chip, and thus, it is difficult to manufacture a batch and is a factor that increases manufacturing costs. In addition, even when the individual driving circuit is used, there is a problem that the circuit must be redesigned when the brightness deviation occurs.
Accordingly, the present invention includes a current driver for supplying a constant current to the panel of the organic electroluminescent display; A light emission time detector for detecting a light emission time of each of the individual organic light emitting display elements; A flat plate comprising a digital signal processor for controlling the light emission time of each of the individual organic electroluminescent display devices by receiving the light emission time of each of the organic light emitting display elements from the light emission time detector and controlling the current driver. By providing the driving circuit of the display element, it is possible not only to drive a plurality of panels having different characteristics using one designed circuit, but also to eliminate the need to redesign the circuit, so that the development cost of the driving circuit of the flat panel display element is reduced. Can be drastically reduced, and since only one detection of the emission time is performed, power consumption can be minimized.

Referring to the accompanying drawings a driving circuit of a conventional flat panel display as an example in detail as follows.
1 is a driving circuit diagram of a general unit organic electroluminescent display device, and as shown therein, a
FIG. 2 is a graph showing the time T of the constant current I EL supplied to the organic
Accordingly, in the driving circuit of the conventional organic electroluminescent display device, the
In this case, the brightness of light emitted from the organic
Therefore, in order to generate light having a constant brightness, the magnitude and time of the current supplied to the organic
That is, as shown in the graph of FIG. 3, it can be seen that a brightness deviation occurs according to the organic light emitting display device at the time Te is emitted.
The brightness deviation is caused by panel-dependent circuits. In order to prevent this, individual driving circuits have to be used according to the characteristics of panels. However, in general, circuit design means fabricating integrated semiconductor chips. It is difficult to manufacture due to the impossibility of manufacturing, and it is a factor which raises manufacturing cost.
In addition, even when the individual driving circuit is used, there is a problem that the circuit must be redesigned when the brightness deviation occurs.
Accordingly, the present invention has been made to solve the above-described problems, and an object of the present invention is to provide a driving circuit of a flat panel display device capable of compensating for brightness variations due to panel characteristics of an organic electroluminescent display device. It is.
The driving circuit of the flat panel display device for achieving the object of the present invention as described above includes a current driver for supplying a constant current to the panel of the organic electroluminescent display device; A light emission time detector for detecting a light emission time of each of the individual organic light emitting display elements; And a digital signal processor for controlling the light emission time of each of the individual organic electroluminescent display devices by controlling the current driver by receiving the light emission time of each of the organic light emitting display devices from the light emission time detector. It is done.
In this case, the light-emitting time detection unit is an individual organic light from the control voltage (VC) corresponding to the difference by comparing the light emission threshold voltage (Vth) of the both ends voltage (V EL) and an organic electro-luminescence display device of the respective organic light emitting display device It is characterized in that it comprises a plurality of comparators for detecting the light emission time of the light emitting display device.
The driving circuit of the flat panel display device according to the present invention as described above will be described in detail with reference to an embodiment as follows.
First, Figure 4 is a block diagram showing an embodiment of the present invention, as shown in the current driving unit 12 for supplying a constant current to the
FIG. 5 is a detailed illustration of the emission
Hereinafter, the operation of one embodiment of the driving circuit of the flat panel display device according to the present invention as described above will be described in detail.
First, as shown in FIG. 4, when the current driver 12 supplies a constant current to the
On the other hand, as shown in Fig. 5, the
Therefore, the output control voltage VC of the
The digital signal processor 14 receives the information on the light emission time DELTA T of the individual organic light emitting display device (that is, the control voltage VC) from the light
In this case, the time Ti of light emission starts is not detected for all organic electroluminescent display elements of the panel, and by applying a specific organic electroluminescent display element as a representative value, it is possible to minimize the size and power consumption of the circuit.
FIG. 7 is a graph showing brightness curves according to the characteristics of three organic electroluminescent display devices. As shown in FIG. 7, the time (Te1, Te2, Te3) at which the emission of each organic electroluminescent display device is terminated is controlled. Allow light of constant brightness to emit light.
The driving circuit of the flat panel display device according to the present invention as described above uses a single designed circuit by detecting the light emission time of the individual organic electroluminescent display device so as to emit light having a constant brightness from the individual organic electroluminescent display device. Therefore, it is possible to drive a large number of panels with different characteristics and eliminate the need to redesign the circuit, thereby significantly reducing the development cost of the driving circuit of the flat panel display device, and detecting the emission time only once. Since it is possible to minimize the power consumption.
