Description
Field of invention
The present invention relates to a styrene resin composition having excellent impact strength and low surface gloss. More specifically, the present invention provides excellent impact strength by appropriately adding a compatibility additive and an incompatible additive as a low light additive to a base resin composed of a styrene-acrylonitrile-butadiene graft copolymer and a styrene-acrylonitrile copolymer. In addition, the present invention relates to a styrene resin composition having a low surface gloss.
Background of the Invention
Styrene-based resin composition has excellent mechanical strength such as impact strength and beautiful appearance such as surface gloss has been used in a variety of injection molding and extrusion molding products. Some of these products require high gloss for the purpose of resin, while others require low gloss. As such, various techniques for reducing glossiness of styrene resins have been developed to satisfy the required characteristics of the product.
European Patent No. 668319 (BAYER) and US Patent No. 5605963 (Leitz, et al.) Disclose a method of controlling the particle size of the rubber contained in the resin to reduce the gloss of the resin. However, the method has an advantage that does not incur additional costs, but it is difficult to freely adjust the desired glossiness, and there is a disadvantage in that the glossiness cannot be adjusted when a process is not provided because it is a technology having a large process dependency. Because of these shortcomings, there is a problem that the customer cannot fit the customer's needs and the finished product.
Another way to lower the gloss of the resin is to use additives. Although there are various kinds of additives, they are broadly classified into additives having compatibility with resins (hereinafter referred to as compatibility additives) and additives having no compatibility (hereinafter referred to as incompatible additives).
Compatibility additives are organic materials with components similar to resins and incompatible additives are inorganic species. The dual compatibility additive is mainly composed of a high molecular weight material, but when the compatibility additive is used as a matting agent, there is a disadvantage in that the flow of the entire resin is reduced and workability is poor. And when a large amount of such a high molecular weight material is included, it is fixed in the dead space of the extruder during the processing of the resin and carbonized, there is a risk of causing a resin failure. On the other hand, incompatible additives have low efficiency of lowering the gloss, so that the effect of lowering the gloss is insignificant when a small amount is added. There is this.
On the other hand, in order to overcome the above problems, the present inventors titrate compatible additives and incompatible additives as low-light additives to the base resin consisting of styrene-acrylonitrile-butadiene graft copolymer and styrene-acrylonitrile copolymer. By adding it, it is possible to develop a low-gloss styrene resin composition without deteriorating physical properties such as impact strength.

(C) 저광용 첨가제(C) Low light additive
In the present invention, as a low light additive, a compatibility additive and an incompatible additive are used together.
If the compatible additive is added in excess of the above range, there is a risk that the resin will settle in a dead space of the extruder during processing of the resin, causing defects in the resin. On the other hand, when incompatible additives are added in excess of the above range, the impact strength of the resin is lowered.
