Claims (3)
- 소정 거리를 두고 대향, 배치되는 투명한 상하부 기판;상기 상하부기판사이에 개재되는 액정;상기 하부기판의 대향면에 형성되고 소정 폭을 갖으며 투명 물질로 된 카운터 전극;상기 하부기판의 대향면에 카운터 전극과 소정거리를 두고 이격되어 있고, 투명 물질로 형성되며 소정 폭을 갖으며 카운터전극과 함께 전계를 형성하여 액정을 동작시키는 화소 전극을 포함하고, 상기 카운터 전극과 화소전극간의 간격은 상기 상하부기판간의 거리보다 작으며, 상기 카운터전극과 화소전극 각각의 폭은 상기 전극들의 각각 상부에 존재하는 액정분자들이 모두 서로 인접하는 카운터전극과 화소전극들사이에 발생되는 전계에 의하여 동작되도록 하는 길이인 액정표시장치에 있어서,상기 하부기판 내측면 표면과 액정 사이 및 상기 상부기판 내측면 표면과 액정 사이 각각에 수평 배향막이 형성되고, 상기 하부기판에 형성되는 수평 배향막은 상기 카운터전극과 화소전극사이에 발생되는 전계와 소정 각을 이루도록 러빙되어 있고, 상기 상부 기판에 형성되는 수평 배향막은 상기 하부 기판에 형성되는 수평 배향막의 러빙축과 180도 각도차를 갖도록 러빙되어 있으며, 상기 하부 기판의 러빙축과 상기 전계가 이루는 각이 0∼45도이면 상기 액정으로 유전율 이방성이 음인 물질을 사용하거나, 상기 하부 기판의 러빙축과 상기 전계가 이루는 각이 45∼90도이면 상기 액정으로 유전율 이방성이 양인 물질을 사용하며, 상기 액정은 트위스트 탄성 계수에 대한 밴드 탄성 계수의 비가 2.5 이상인 것을 특징으로 하는 고개구율 및 고투과율을 갖는 액정표시장치.
- 제 1 항에 있어서, 상기 카운터 전극과 화소 전극 사이에는 게이트 절연막이 개재되어, 두 전극간을 절연시키는 것을 특징으로 하는 고개구율 및 고투과율을 갖는 액정표시장치.
- 제1항 내지 제2항중 어느 한 항에 있어서, 상기 트위스트 탄성계수에 대한 밴드탄성계수의 비가 2.5 내지 10 인 것을 특징으로하는 고개구율 및 고투과율을 갖는 액정표시장치.
