Abstract

PURPOSE: A conjugate yarn obtained by doubling a polyester twisted yarn as a core yarn and a PET/nylon split yarn, polyester filament twisted yarn or natural fiber as a sheath yarn, followed by doubling with a PET fixing yarn is provided. By providing highly-absorbing properties to the conjugate yarn during weaving or knitting, it can be used in a living article such as a bathing gown, towel, or a cleaning article. CONSTITUTION: A PET/nylon split yarn, polyester filament twisted yarn or natural fiber as a sheath yarn(10a, 10b) are twisted and doubled with a polyester twisted yarn as a core yarn(1) in a ratio of 5:1 in a spindle(3) and then with a PET fixing yarn(100) to produce a highly water-absorbing conjugate yarn. At least one surface of a woven or knit fabric is prepared with the conjugate yarn.
