PURPOSE: A VCR(Video Cassette Recorder) for displaying a connected state of external input terminals is provided for a user to check connected state between the VCR and external apparatuses. CONSTITUTION: A VCR is formed by a display key(21) for selecting display of connected state between external apparatuses and external input terminals on an OSD(On Screen Display) image, a decide unit(20) deciding connected state between the external apparatuses and the external input terminals by input of a select signal from the display key, and an OSD unit(25) displaying the connected state on the OSD image according to decided result of the deciding unit. Herein, the deciding unit includes a control unit(22) generating switch data through composing bit row by input of the signal from the display key, a select switch unit(23) receiving switch data from the control unit for outputting with received signals for each mode of external input terminals, and a synchronization detect unit(24) detecting synchronization by receiving the signal from the select switch unit.
