이상과 같이 구성된 본 발명의 작용 및 효과를 설명하면 다음과 같다. 전기세탁기(4)의 운전시에, 세탁탈수조(2)에 물이 공급되어 일정수위에 도달하게되면, 모터의 동작으로 펄세이터(6)가 회전하면서 세탁이 진행된다. 이때, 세탁탈수조(2)의 통공벽으로 흘러내리는 세탁수는 도면 제1도에서 보는 바와같이 화살표P와 같은 방향으로 순환되고, 이는 펌프(3)에 의해 펌핑되면서 펌핑호스(4)를 통과하여 세탁탈수조(2)내에 재급수된다. 이러한 과정에서 세탁수는 펌핑호스(4)에 장착한 전기석 세라믹필터(5)를 통과하게되고, 전기석 특유의 작용으로 세탁수의 전해가 일어나면서 계면활성력을 갖는 하이드록실 이온(H3O2 -:H)을 발생시키게된다. 하이드록실 이온(H)을 함유한 세탁수는 다시 세탁 탈수조(2)에 재공급하게되는 것이다. 이와같은 작용을 세탁수행기간동안 지속함에 따라 물의표면 장력이 낮아져 계면활성능력을 가진물로 변화하게된다. 바로 이러한 현상이 세탁시 세제를 사용하는 효과와 같은 역할을 하게되므로 전기석 세라믹필터(5)를 통과한 물이 갖는 계면활성력만큼 세제를 절감시킬 수 있는 것이다. 여기에서 전기석 세라믹필터(5)는 전기석과 세라믹을 혼합시켜 만든 물질로 이는 물에 용출되어 없어지는 성분이 아니므로, 반영구적으로 사용할 수 있고, 도면 제3도에서 보는 바와같이 전기석은 외부로부터 전장을 가하지 않아도 처음부터 전기분극을 하고있는 결정으로 이러한 전기석극성 때문에 물과 접촉시 전해반응(극성을 띄는 부분이(+),(-)전극의 역할을 하게되어 전기 분해반응이 일어남)을 일으키게되어 하이드록실 이온(H)이 생성된다. 이러한 하이드록실 이온(H)은 친수기인 H-O-H 부분과 소수기인 H-O부분(특히, H부분이 소수기 역할을 함)으로 되어있다. 이와같이 친수기와 소수기를 공유하고있는 하이드록실이온은 물의 표면 장력을 낮추고 오염을 섬유로부터 제거하기 쉽게하여 유화, 분산, 침투등 계면활성 작용을 하게된다. 또한, 세탁기사용시에 세제가 투입되는 이유는, 세제중의 계면활성제의 작용에 의해 물의 표면장력을 낮추어 오염제거를 용이하게 하고, 분산, 유화, 침투 작용을 하기때문인 것으로, 하이드록실 이온도(H) 이와같은 계면활성제의 작용을 하게되므로, 전해반응에 의해 생성된 하이드록실 이온(H)에 의한 물의 표면 장력 감소분만큼 세탁에 필요한 세제량을 줄일 수 있게되고, 세제의 사용시에는 세제가 외부로 유출되면서 하천내 미생물에 의해 계면활성제(보통 고분자물질임)분해(도는 생분해)가 일어나는데 새용세제량이 과다해질수록 생분해에 걸리는 시간이 많게되는 반면, 하이드록실 이온(H)은 일정시간이 경과하면, 다시물로 환원되므로, 생분해가 필요없게되어 환경오염방지에 기여할 수 있게된다.Referring to the operation and effects of the present invention configured as described above are as follows.
