The present invention is to provide a lead acid battery that can facilitate the flow of the electrolyte while preventing the drop of the active material (active material) to facilitate the chemical reaction during charging and discharging, in particular as a power source such as golf cars, boats, forklifts It is related to the improvement of lead acid battery for deep cycle.

The lead acid battery is usually a separator made of a polymer of polyethylene. The separator is separated from the grid, but the separator is formed of a polyetchene envelope having a rib formed therein. In other words, the enclosed separator is formed by covering one of the neighboring anode plates or cathode plates.

In such lead-acid batteries, the electrolyte flows relatively easily, so the battery is excellent in performance, but the active material attached to the electrode plate cannot be pressed, and in particular, as in the case of a storage battery used as a power source for golf cars, boats and forklifts. In deep cycle storage batteries that discharge frequently, corrosion and dendrite formation quickly resulted in the defect of the active material falling off prematurely.

Thus, in the case of the deep cycle storage battery as described above, a glass mat is installed between the pole plate and the pole plate to compress the pole plate, thereby reducing the dropping of the active material.

However, in the case of such a lead acid battery, the capacity of the battery is lower because the thickness of the battery, the amount of electrolyte impregnation, and the amount of sulfuric acid that can flow are inferior to those of the battery cell using the separator made of the above-described polyethylene-based polymer material. There is a disadvantage that there is less and the charge / discharge performance is lowered.

Thus, the present invention can provide a storage battery that can reduce the dropping of the active material attached to the electrode plate while maintaining the advantages in the flow of the electrolyte solution and the like having a separator using a polyethylene-based polymer material as described above. To cover the surface of the pole plate with a thin fibrous mesh, and to the outside of the polyetherene-based high-molecular material as described above to provide a storage battery provided with a separator having a bar, attached to the present invention Referring to the drawings as follows.

In the storage battery consisting of a plurality of electrode plates (1) having the active material layer (2) attached to the surface, a thin fiber net (3) is attached to the outer surface of the active material layer (2), and formed of a polyethylene-based polymer material The well-known separator 4 in which the protrusion 41 was formed in the inner surface is attached to the outer surface of the fiber mesh 3.

The fibrous mesh 3 may be widely used for all fibrous materials which do not react with sulfuric acid. The thickness of the fibrous mesh 3 is preferably as thin as possible, and the size of the mesh of the fibrous mesh 3 is 25 to 120 mesh. desirable.

The present invention configured as described above does not use a grass mat, so that a relatively large space can be secured between the electrode plate and the electrode plate, so that a large amount of electrolyte can be filled in this space, thereby increasing the capacity and life of the battery, and the active material. By installing the fibrous mesh 3 on the outer surface of the layer 2, not only the dropout of the active material layer 2 can be reduced, but also the growth of dendrites can be suppressed, and the thickness of the separator can be reduced, thereby reducing the size of the battery. There is an effect that can be reduced.
