Abstract
Description
特許文献1に記載の切削インサートにおいては、工具本体の表面に開口しているクーラント供給孔は、切削インサートに形成されたクーラント保持部から離れた位置に配置されている。特に、切削インサートと工具本体との間に敷板を配置する場合は、さらに離れることになる。また、特許文献1に記載の切削インサートで被削材を切削加工する場合、切削インサートの逃げ面と被削物とは密着しているか、あるいはこれらの隙間が非常に小さい。したがって、特許文献1に記載の切削工具においては、クーラント供給孔から噴出されるクーラントの大半は、被削材により遮蔽され、実際にクーラント保持部に供給されるクーラントは、ごく一部となる。結果として、特許文献1に記載の切削インサートにおいては、切れ刃を十分に冷却し、潤滑を行うという観点において、まだ改良の余地がある。

本開示の一態様に係る切削インサートによると、より確実に切れ刃近傍にクーラントを供給することができる。本開示の一態様に係る切削インサートの製造方法によると、切れ刃近傍にクーラントをより確実に供給することができる切削インサートを得ることができる。

Claims (4)
- すくい面と、前記すくい面に連なる逃げ面と、前記すくい面と前記逃げ面との稜線により構成される切れ刃とを備える切削インサートであって、
前記切削インサートの内部には、クーラント流路が設けられ、
前記クーラント流路の一端部は前記逃げ面において開口してクーラント噴出口を成し、
前記逃げ面には、基端部が前記クーラント噴出口に接続され、かつ先端部が前記基端部よりも前記切れ刃に近い位置に配置されることにより、前記クーラント噴出口から前記切れ刃に向かって延在するクーラント誘導溝が設けられる、切削インサート。 - 前記すくい面に平行な断面における前記クーラント誘導溝の断面積は、前記基端部から前記先端部に向かうにしたがって小さくなる、請求項1に記載の切削インサート。
- 前記クーラント誘導溝の深さは、0.2mm以上2mm以下である、請求項1に記載の切削インサート。
- 請求項1〜請求項3のいずれか1項に記載の前記切削インサートの製造方法であって、
前記切削インサートの成形体を準備する工程と、
前記成形体に前記すくい面、前記逃げ面及び前記切れ刃を形成する工程と、
前記成形体の内部に前記クーラント流路を形成し、前記逃げ面に前記クーラント噴出口を形成する工程と、
前記逃げ面に、前記クーラント誘導溝を形成する工程とを備える、切削インサートの製造方法。
