Claims (14)
- 液晶パネルと、
M個の光源からなる光源群が側部に配置された導光体を有し、前記液晶パネルに光を照射するバックライトと、
前記光源群から選択された前記M個より少ないN個の前記光源をサブ光源群とし、前記N個の光源の組み合わせが互いに異なる複数の前記サブ光源群に対して、それぞれ異なるタイミングで駆動パルスを供給する光源駆動部と、
を備える表示装置。 - 前記光源駆動部は、前記駆動パルスのパルス幅を変更することにより、前記各サブ光源群の光量を変更する請求項1に記載の表示装置。
- 前記液晶パネルに供給される映像信号に基づき映像の明るさを検出する明るさ検出部を備え、
前記光源駆動部は、前記明るさ検出部により検出された前記明るさに応じて、前記光量を変更する請求項2に記載の表示装置。 - 前記光源駆動部は、前記映像の明るさが暗いほど、前記光量を低下させる請求項3に記載の表示装置。
- 前記光源駆動部は、前記各サブ光源群に対して前記駆動パルスを一定の周期で供給する請求項4記載の表示装置。
- 前記光源駆動部は、前記光量を最大とする場合に、前記駆動パルスのパルス幅を前記周期に一致させる請求項5に記載の表示装置。
- 前記バックライトには、前記導光体が複数設けられており、
前記明るさ検出部は、前記映像信号に基づいて前記各導光体に対応する領域の明るさを検出し、
前記光源駆動部は、前記明るさ検出部により検出された前記明るさに応じて、前記導光体毎に前記光量を変更する請求項3に記載の表示装置。 - 前記映像信号の輝度情報を、前記光量の変更量に応じてゲイン補正する映像信号補正部と、
前記映像信号補正部によりゲイン補正された前記映像信号に基づいて前記液晶パネルを駆動する液晶駆動部と、
を備える請求項3に記載の表示装置。 - 前記各サブ光源群に含まれる前記光源は、同一の共通配線に接続されており、
前記光源駆動部は、前記共通配線に前記駆動パルスを供給する請求項1に記載の表示装置。 - 前記各サブ光源群が接続された前記共通配線は、互いに信号遅延回路を介して接続されており、
前記光源駆動部から供給された1つの前記駆動パルスが前記信号遅延回路により遅延されて前記各サブ光源群に供給される請求項9に記載の表示装置。 - 前記M個の光源は、前記導光体の対向する2つの側部に配置されており、
対向する2つの前記光源は、同一の前記サブ光源群には含まれていない請求項1から10いずれか1項に記載の表示装置。 - 前記M個の光源は、前記導光体の1つの側部に配置されており、
隣接する2つの前記光源は、同一の前記サブ光源群には含まれていない請求項1から10いずれか1項に記載の表示装置。 - 液晶パネルと、
M個の光源からなる光源群が側部に配置された導光体を有し、前記液晶パネルに光を照射するバックライトと、
前記光源群から選択された前記M個より少ないN個の前記光源をサブ光源群とし、前記N個の光源の組み合わせが互いに異なる複数の前記サブ光源群に対して、それぞれ異なるタイミングで駆動パルスを供給する光源駆動部と、
を備えるファインダ装置。 - 液晶パネルと、M個の光源からなる光源群が側部に配置された導光体を有し、前記液晶パネルに光を照射するバックライトと、前記光源群を駆動する光源駆動部と、を備える表示装置の制御方法において、
前記光源駆動部を制御し、前記光源群から選択された前記M個より少ないN個の前記光源をサブ光源群とし、前記N個の光源の組み合わせが互いに異なる複数の前記サブ光源群に対して、それぞれ異なるタイミングで駆動パルスを供給させる表示装置の制御方法。
