本発明に係る垂直磁気記録媒体の第1実施例について、図を参照して説明する。図1は第1実施例に係る垂直磁気記録ディスク(垂直磁気記録媒体)の構成を説明する図、図2はその垂直磁気記録ディスクの製造方法を説明するフローチャート、図3は加熱工程における加熱による磁気特性の変化を示す図、図4は加熱温度と逆磁区核形成磁界Hnとの関係を示す図である。なお、以下の実施例に示す数値は発明の理解を容易とするための例示に過ぎず、特に断る場合を除き、本発明を限定するものではない。
本発明にかかる垂直磁気記録媒体の第2実施例について、図を参照して説明する。図5は第2実施例に係る垂直磁気記録ディスク(垂直磁気記録媒体)の構成を説明する図、図6は加熱工程における加熱による静磁気特性の変化を示す図である。上記第1実施例と説明の重複する部分については、同一の符号を付して説明を省略する。
Claims (7)
- 基体上に軟磁性層を形成する軟磁性層形成工程と、
前記軟磁性層の上層としてグラニュラー構造を有する磁気記録層を形成する磁気記録層形成工程と、
前記磁気記録層の上層又は下層として垂直磁気異方性を有する連続層を形成する連続層形成工程と、
前記連続層形成工程において前記連続層を形成することにより得られた媒体を、逆磁区核形成磁界の値を向上させるために加熱する加熱工程とを備えることを特徴とする垂直磁気記録媒体の製造方法。 - 前記加熱工程は、温度を150℃〜240℃の範囲で施すことを特徴とする請求項1記載の垂直磁気記録媒体の製造方法。
- 前記基体がガラスであることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の垂直磁気記録媒体の製造方法。
- 前記軟磁性層をFe系軟磁性材料、Co系軟磁性材料又はFeCo系合金軟磁性材料により形成することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の垂直磁気記録媒体の製造方法。
- 前記磁気記録層はCoCrPt及び非磁性物質を含むグラニュラー構造の強磁性層であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の垂直磁気記録媒体の製造方法。
- 前記連続層を、Co系合金とPd又はPtとを交互に積層してなる交換エネルギー制御層、及び、Pd又はPtからなり前記交換エネルギー制御層を前記磁気記録層に結合するカップリング制御層を積層して形成することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の垂直磁気記録媒体の製造方法。
- 前記連続層は、CoCrPt系合金を主体とした磁性材料からなる単層であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の垂直磁気記録媒体の製造方法。
