Description
The present invention relates to a fuel storage device, a storage method, and a system for storing and / or using a liquid and / or liquid fuel at an ultra-low temperature typified by liquid hydrogen at room temperature.
When the fuel was consumed and the fuel storage device was emptied, liquid hydrogen as a direct fuel was refilled while the device was mounted on the fuel consuming device.
As a prior art, a separate hydrogen fuel storage device comprising a liquid hydrogen fuel storage device and a hydrogen storage material is provided, and the hydrogen vaporized (boiled off) from the liquid hydrogen fuel storage device is supplied to the separate hydrogen fuel storage device. It is known that the above two fuel storage devices are combined and used in a fuel consuming device (Patent Document 1).
Further, as a prior art, there is a document in which liquid hydrogen is occluded in activated carbon (Patent Document 2). Specifically, a fuel storage device using activated carbon is mounted on a fuel consuming device such as an automobile and is practical even when not used. There is no known example of storing hydrogen from a fuel storage device without boil-off for a sufficient time (for example, 24 hours or more).
The problems of the prior art to be solved by the present invention will be described taking liquid hydrogen as an example of fuel.
Although storing hydrogen in the form of liquid hydrogen has the advantage of being lightweight and having a high storage density, liquid hydrogen is liable to vaporize when not in use due to heat penetration from the outside of the storage device.
In this case, the pressure in the storage device increases, and the vaporized hydrogen (hydrogen gas) must be discharged out of the storage device (boil-off). That is, when hydrogen is vaporized, the pressure increases about 880 times compared to the liquid hydrogen state.
Even if the container is filled with liquid hydrogen at an ultra-low temperature of 20 degrees K and 1 atm, if it is vaporized, it reaches 880 atm and the pressure is too high, which is dangerous. Therefore, it is necessary to discharge a part of the vaporized hydrogen. This discharged hydrogen gas is about 1% of the amount of hydrogen stored per day, and there is a problem that the effective use efficiency of hydrogen is reduced, and there is also a problem in terms of safety by discharging the hydrogen gas. there were. In particular, when the storage device using liquid hydrogen as a fuel is mounted as a fuel supply device for an automobile, boil-off when the automobile is not used is the biggest problem.
The apparatus and method using activated carbon as a hydrogen storage material in the prior art uses the pores of activated carbon as the storage effect of activated carbon, and therefore has the advantage of being able to temporarily store more hydrogen than vaporized hydrogen. .
However, since the structure of activated carbon does not retain the structure similar to the cell part in the plant tissue, such as bamboo fiber tissue, which is the raw material of the carbonized material, the amount of occluded hydrogen is limited, and the pores For example, compared with the pores of bamboo charcoal obtained by carbonizing bamboo as it is, the size is about an order of magnitude larger, so that when the temperature rises, temporarily stored hydrogen is released again.
The second problem in the prior art is that there is a problem in terms of safety and operation when the storage device using liquid hydrogen as a fuel is attached to or detached from a fuel consuming device represented by an automobile. That is, a facility equivalent to a gasoline station in the case of gasoline to refill the fuel (liquid hydrogen) when the fuel in the storage device storing liquid hydrogen is used (consumed) and becomes nearly empty is required. In the case of liquid hydrogen, a very complicated and expensive hydrogen station facility was set up mainly for safety reasons, and the car user had to drop in for replacement or refilling and refilled by an expert. . The number of these hydrogen stations is limited due to the above-mentioned reasons, and there is a problem that they cannot be used in the city.
The present invention has been made paying attention to such points, and after filling the storage device with ultra-low temperature liquid and / or liquid that is approximately 880 times denser than hydrogen vapor at the time of use represented by liquid hydrogen. There is provided a fuel storage device and a method thereof that can be stably stored for a long time when not in use by gradually increasing the temperature of the device to normal temperature and storing the fuel at normal temperature, and can be supplied in the form of gaseous fuel when in use. It is a further object of the present invention to provide a system that can safely and easily attach and detach the storage device to a fuel consuming device such as an automobile when the storage device is empty.
In order to achieve the above-mentioned object, the present invention is designed to store the liquid and / or liquid fuel in a state where the fuel, which is denser than that of use represented by liquid hydrogen, that is, liquid and / or liquid fuel is stored in the storage device. There is provided a first storage part for storing fuel in the substance and a second storage part for storing fuel in a vaporized state in the apparatus with the same fuel as the liquid and / or liquid fuel. Further, a filter-like structure made of carbide holding a structure corresponding to, for example, a cell wall having a super-pore of a plant body, which is integrated with the fuel storage material in the boundary region between them, is provided. These structures provide a means of apparatus and method for storing liquid and / or liquid hydrogen at room temperature without boil-off. That is, the vaporized fuel in the second storage part is, for example, in a process in which the temperature rises from the temperature when the storage device occludes (fills) the fuel to the normal temperature after the filling is completed. The fuel stored in the first containment portion is prevented from flowing out to the second containment portion through the filter-like structure by utilizing the increase in the pressure of vaporized hydrogen present in the fuel cell. That is, the present invention provides a storage device constituting means and a storage method for solving the conventional problem (boil-off) in which vaporized fuel must be discharged from the storage device to the outside even when it is not used at room temperature. In particular, there is provided a means by which the effect (boil-off suppression) can be greatly increased by increasing the pressure of vaporized hydrogen above the critical pressure of hydrogen of 12.9 atm (30 K).
In other words, a fuel that is denser than the use, represented by liquid hydrogen stored at an ultra-low temperature in the fuel storage material constituting the first storage portion, is stored in the fuel storage material (for example, plant tissue) even when stored at room temperature. The storage device is stored (stored) in a liquid and / or liquid multi-layer atomic and / or molecular structure in a confined space corresponding to the inside of the cell when the cell wall is carbonized. In the present invention, the filter-like structure in the boundary region between the first and second containment parts has a structure integrated with the fuel storage material (for example, a carbide holding a structure corresponding to a cell wall having a super-pore of a plant body). ). In addition, the hydrogen atoms or molecules occluded in the portion are layers far fewer than the number of layers of atoms and / or molecules in the enclosed space in the occluded material, so that the fuel is put into the enclosed space through this structure. Occlude (store). As a result, the storage device and the means related to the storage method are provided to solve the conventional problem (boil-off) in which the vaporized fuel must be discharged from the storage device to the outside even when not in use.
Here, the liquid fuel means, for example, when bamboo charcoal is used as a fuel storage material, the portion corresponding to the cell wall of bamboo, which is the raw material, is carbonized to form ultrafine pores and adsorbed there (for example, hydrogen) and / or The bamboo charcoal space corresponding to the inside of the bamboo cells is initially filled with a liquid (in the form of multilayer atoms and / or molecules).
Even after the temperature of the storage device and the fuel storage material rises after the filling is completed, the space is narrow so that it behaves differently from normal gas (for example, dew-like hydrogen). This is based on the theory of entropy and enthalpy.
By introducing this theory, it can be explained that the conventional vapor-liquid equilibrium theory may have a completely different state from the idea that hydrogen exists only as a gas at room temperature. In other words, the liquid fuel is a fuel having a density (specific gravity) that is at least an order of magnitude higher than that of the gaseous fuel at room temperature. Therefore, when the fuel storage device is stored in the confined space, the difference from the gaseous fuel can be identified by measuring the specific gravity and / or density of the fuel storage device.
Furthermore, another means of the present invention is as follows. Apart from the first storage part and the second storage part, a third storage part for storing fuel in the second fuel storage material is provided in the apparatus. The pressure level of the vaporized fuel in the second storage part is set to an appropriate level, that is, slightly higher than the pressure 12.9 atm at the critical point of hydrogen (absolute temperature 30K), for example 13 atm. The fuel stored in the first storage part is sufficiently prevented from flowing out to the second storage part through the filter-like structure. At the same time, the gaseous fuel portion that is further vaporized to increase the pressure is provided separately from the above, for example, a second filter-like structure (second fuel structure made of carbide retaining the structure of the plant body). Temporarily occlude and store in the second fuel occlusion material in the third fuel containment part through a structure integrated with the occlusion material. Thus, a storage device and a method related to the storage method that do not increase the pressure of the vaporized fuel more than necessary are provided.
Furthermore, the present invention provides a storage device and a storage method for storing fuel by controlling the pressure level by appropriately allocating the amount of the fuel storage material constituting the first storage portion and the third storage portion. The means concerning is provided.
Furthermore, the present invention completely separates a facility that fills the storage device with fuel represented by liquid hydrogen from a facility that directly attaches / detaches or replaces the storage device to / from a fuel consuming device such as an automobile. If there is an accident at that location, keep away from each other.) As a result, it is possible to replace the fuel consuming device with the fuel consuming device by simply replacing the emptied storage device with another storage device, and provide system means that can supply fuel to the fuel consuming device safely and easily. To do.
According to the present invention, in a hydrogen storage device and a storage method for supplying hydrogen to a hydrogen consuming device that consumes hydrogen as fuel, such as a hydrogen engine, a fuel cell, or a hydrogen turbine, most of the hydrogen is liquid and / or liquid. It is stored in the hydrogen storage material in the hydrogen state at room temperature, and it is possible to suppress the hydrogen vaporized in the storage device from rising above a predetermined pressure level. As a result, the problem of discharging the vaporized hydrogen from the storage container (boil-off) can be solved. In addition, since it does not release vaporized hydrogen, it is excellent in safety.

The problem (boil-off) of discharging the element from the storage container can be solved. In addition, since it does not release vaporized hydrogen, it is excellent in safety.
In the present invention, the facility for filling the fuel storage device using the liquid or liquid fuel with high concentration and high energy density represented by liquid hydrogen, which is dangerous, is away from the place where the facility close to the conventional gas station is located. It is safe because it takes place on site. On the other hand, the replacement and purchase of the fuel storage device with a fuel consuming device such as an automobile can be performed at a facility close to a conventional gas station, which improves convenience for the user of the fuel consuming device.

First, the first embodiment will be described with reference to FIGS. 1, 2, and 3.

FIG. 1 shows the state of the
Hereinafter, the configuration and state of the
In FIG. 1, the first
In FIG. 1, liquid hydrogen was charged into 01 and 021 at 1 atm, and almost the same 1 atm of hydrogen vapor was charged into 022 to reach a vapor-liquid equilibrium state.
After filling with liquid hydrogen, the
When the temperature of the
As described above, the pressure of hydrogen vapor in the second
As a result, the discharge of hydrogen from the first
It has also been confirmed that the boil-off can be suppressed even if the equilibrium pressure during storage is reduced to about half from the above 13 atm by reducing the equilibration pressure from 1 atm to 0.5 atm during the filling. did.
Next, a method of using the hydrogen (liquid hydrogen and / or liquid hydrogen) storage device in the present invention will be described with reference to FIGS.
Initial filling of hydrogen In FIG. 1, valve 1: 051 and valve 2: 052 of the

3. Use of Hydrogen In FIG. 2, the temperature of the
Next, a second embodiment will be described with reference to FIGS. 3, 4, and 5.

4 and 5, the size (volume) of the
In the initial filling, the apparatus is first vacuumed at about 0.01 atm at 420 K and then at liquid hydrogen temperature (20 K), then
After confirming that the apparatus was full of liquid hydrogen at an equilibrium pressure of about 1 atm with a gauge (not shown),
Thereafter, the
As a result, as shown in FIGS. 4 and 5, the first

The pressure of the second hydrogen storage units 021,022 was about 4 atm in one hour after the start of storage.
From the time when the pressure of gaseous hydrogen in the second hydrogen storage unit became about 4 atm, occlusion of more vaporized hydrogen began to be stored in the third
As a result of further gradually and gradually raising the temperature around the apparatus to room temperature, the hydrogen vapor portion 021,022 was in an equilibrium state at about 7 atm in about 48 hours after the start of storage.
Subsequently, the apparatus was mounted on an automobile and hydrogen vapor was taken out from the apparatus and used as fuel. A pressure regulator (not shown) of the
After that, the device was allowed to stand at room temperature for 1 month, but the equilibrium pressure remained almost the same as above, and the allowable pressure of the device was 20 atmospheres or less. Therefore, the valve was opened and a part of the hydrogen vapor was discharged to the outside. No boil-off process is required.
6 (a) and 6 (b) show the hydrogen storage material shown in Example 1 (FIG. 3 (a)) in which the strength deteriorates at the portion where the surface of the
In FIG. 6A,
Thereafter, the liquefied material remaining on 01,021 is removed, and then hydrogen is charged as in Example 1.
Using this structure, in Example 1, the time required for gradually increasing the temperature to room temperature in order to prevent “bounce” could be reduced by about one digit.

The first embodiment to the fourth embodiment have been described above. However, the concept of the present invention includes not only the embodiment but also all cases that can be easily assumed by experts in this field.
