Description
The present invention relates to a connection device in general (hereinafter referred to as “connector”) that can perform high-speed and large-capacity transmission of information with high accuracy and is not easily affected by noise. The present invention relates to information transmission systems, such as railway vehicles, automobiles, personal computers, home appliances, and the like.
Connectors used in railway vehicles, automobiles, etc. are used in an environment where they are exposed to high temperatures and exposed to the outside air and are easily contaminated. Further, connectors used for home appliances are frequently removed.
With regard to connectors used in such a poor environment, as a technology to make it less susceptible to the effects of ambient noise, a technology for performing data communication using a modulated wave signal obtained by modulating a carrier wave with a data signal (baseband signal) is internationally released. It is described in a pamphlet of WO03 / 028299.
However, the modulated wave signal modulated in the above technique has a high attenuation because it is a high frequency, and when the signal transmission distance by the modulated wave signal is set large, there is a problem that the data communication ability is hindered by the attenuation of the signal. Yes, Patent Document 1 does not consider that point.
The connector requires a connection structure for fixing and maintaining the connection with other devices and other connectors, and a housing of a predetermined size is required according to the fixing structure and strength. If a modulator or demodulator is provided outside the housing, the data transmission distance by the modulated signal must be taken at least by the length or width of the housing. On the other hand, when this connector is used in an installation place where the frequency component of ambient noise is high, data transmission must be realized by a modulation signal having a frequency higher than that of the noise. In this case, the higher the frequency of the modulation signal, the higher the degree of attenuation. Therefore, it is necessary to reduce the distance between the connection portions that transmit the modulation signal. However, if the length of the casing is shortened for that purpose, the connection strength of the connector may be impaired.

変調方式としては、例えば符号の大小で搬送波の振幅を変化させるASK(Amplitude Shift Keying)変調,搬送波の位相を変化させるPSK(Phase Shift Keying)など多く方式があり、いずれの方式を用いることができる。
FIG. 1 shows a configuration diagram of a connector constituting one embodiment of the present invention.

In this embodiment, transmission between connectors is performed by a high-frequency signal modulated by a modulator. For this reason, even if contact failure due to dirt or the like occurs in the connection portion of the connector, transmission failure can be prevented by high-frequency radiation. In addition, since the connector connection portion can be communicated by changing the frequency of the carrier wave to a free frequency, the frequency component of the noise generated by the peripheral device and the frequency of the signal can be separated, so that transmission errors due to noise can be prevented.
In the above embodiments, the device for converting a signal into a high frequency has been described as a modulator, and the device for converting into a low frequency (baseband signal) as a demodulator. What is important in the present embodiment is that the signal connecting the connectors is a high frequency, and the modulator / demodulator described so far does not necessarily have to be a modulator / demodulator. In the case of a connector, the

FIG. 6A shows an example of a configuration in which the other connector is installed in the apparatus. Usually, the other connector is in the apparatus, and one connector is generally connected to the apparatus. FIG. 6 shows this, with the other connector being installed in the apparatus.
FIG. 7 shows the circuit configuration of the connector applicable to FIGS. 1, 2, 4, 5, and 6, and the configuration in the U direction of the detailed configuration of the modem shown in FIG. It is. Since the connector is used to connect between two devices, it is common for the devices to be separate and each device to operate from a different power source. For this reason, a potential difference is generated between the two devices. If a wire is connected between them, a current flows between the devices, causing a failure of the device. In the case of the configuration in which the connectors are connected by the metal connection terminals shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, a device for preventing the flow of current due to the potential difference between the devices is necessary. An insulating device is provided for this purpose. In FIG. 7A, the connector connecting portion is insulated by a capacitor for both the signal line and the ground line. In FIG. 7B, the wiring side is insulated by a transformer. Note that the insulation method shown here is a preferable example, and it is not always necessary to use this configuration, and any structure that can prevent a current flowing due to a potential difference between devices may be used.
In addition, a power source is required to drive a modulator / demodulator (frequency converter) installed in the connector. A connector may have a power supply individually, but the wiring increases and it is difficult to use. FIG. 7 (a) is an example of supplying power from the wiring side, and FIG. 7 (b) is an example of supplying from the high frequency side. In the example of supplying from the wiring side in FIG. 7A, the electric wire wiring 701 for supplying power is arranged in the wiring. FIG. 7B shows an example in which power is supplied from the connector connecting portion side, and the power is supplied simultaneously through connection wiring for transmitting a high-frequency signal. The power source suppresses the high frequency that is a signal component with an inductance 701, takes out a direct current portion that is a power source, and supplies it to the modem circuit. On the other hand, the signal suppresses the direct current, which is a power supply component, by the capacitor 703, and only the signal component is extracted. Note that the method of taking out the power source shown in FIG. 7 (b) may be performed on the signal line on the wiring side. In the case of this configuration, it is possible to save wiring without newly adding a power supply line in the wiring.
Since the connector is used for connecting between devices, it is desired to be able to cope with long-distance transmission. If high frequency is used, poor contact at the connector connection can be prevented. On the other hand, transmission of a high frequency signal through an electric wire results in large attenuation and is not suitable for long distance transmission. Therefore, this problem can be solved by adopting a method in which the wire portion communicates with a low-frequency signal and only the connector connection portion is transmitted at a high frequency. Focusing on this point, a frequency converter such as a modem is built in the connector.
FIG. 8 is a diagram for explaining this basic principle, where the vertical axis indicates the signal level and the horizontal axis indicates the frequency. In the U-side signal flow shown also in FIG. 3, the

Next, a railway vehicle system according to an embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to FIGS.
In railway vehicles, the number of vehicles per train is adjusted according to the number of passengers for the purpose of eliminating wasteful operation. Therefore, separation and connection of vehicles are frequently performed. Also, during regular inspections of vehicles, separation and connection are performed in order to separate and maintain them in one unit. In order to deal with such a mode of operation, a connecting device (signal connecting device) and an air connecting device are installed in front of and behind the vehicle in addition to the mechanical coupling device for information transmission between the vehicles.
On the other hand, recent railway vehicles and automobiles generate noise of several Hz to several tens of MHz due to inverters of driving devices, power supply devices, air conditioning facilities, and the like. The inverter-generated noise source device is usually installed under the floor of the vehicle. Therefore, noise is applied to the wiring that connects the data communication devices of the vehicle, and a communication error occurs.
Note that data communication such as control signals (including maintenance signals) and service signals (media signals) in a railway vehicle via the network is the magazine “Railway Vehicle and Technology” NO. 58, pages 2-8.
In order to prevent contact failure of the connection device (signal connection device), it is known to apply a large voltage exceeding 10 V to electrically destroy the oxide film. Specifically, a high voltage exceeding 10V is applied at the initial stage of vehicle connection, and thereafter, information is transmitted with a voltage of several volts, or information is constantly transmitted with a voltage exceeding 10V. In addition, it is widely practiced to prevent contact failure by plating the surface of the connection terminal with a conductive material that is soft and hardly chemically changes, such as gold.
In the method of applying a high voltage exceeding 10 V only at the initial stage of connection and then performing information communication with a low voltage of several volts, the oxide film is not sufficiently destroyed only by the initial high voltage application, and there is a risk that contact failure will occur again. There is sex. In addition, a device that generates a high voltage, a low-voltage communication device, and a device that switches between them are required, and the configuration is complicated.
On the other hand, the method of always transmitting at a high voltage exceeding 10V increases the power loss of the active element in the output stage. Further, since the transistor of the output stage that is faster as the voltage amplitude is increased, it is difficult to realize high-speed and large-capacity transmission exceeding 10 Mbps as in recent serial communication.
In order to prevent contact failure of the connection device, it is conceivable to provide an antenna in the connection device and perform wireless communication between vehicles. Railway vehicle data communication has been increased in speed and capacity, and the use of high-speed broadband networks is being studied. The frequency of the data signal is about 10 to 100 MHz, and is affected by the noise of the noise generation source converted into an inverter.
Therefore, data communication is performed using a modulated wave signal obtained by modulating a carrier wave with a data signal (baseband signal), and a frequency converter such as a modulator or a demodulator is built in the connector.
FIG. 10 is a network configuration diagram of the railway vehicle of this embodiment. In FIG. 10, reference numeral 1 denotes each vehicle, which is composed of a
An Ethernet cable or the like is used for connection between the
Since many inverter devices such as a high-voltage inverter drive device that drives a vehicle and a power supply device that supplies power in the vehicle are used in a railway vehicle, there is a large noise of several tens of MHz or less. Therefore, baseband transmission is easily affected by this noise. Therefore, a modulated wave signal having a frequency higher than that of the noise source is used for transmission between vehicles.
Conventionally, transmission has been performed with a voltage amplitude of about 10 V for the purpose of preventing transmission errors between vehicles. In this case, it is practically difficult to realize high-speed transmission exceeding 10 Mbps. In contrast, by using modulated wave transmission for transmission between vehicles, a high-speed vehicle network exceeding 100 Mbps can be realized.
FIG. 11 shows an internal configuration example of the

In a railway vehicle, an electric connection device is required at a connection portion of a transmission line for dividing and merging vehicles. In an electrical connection device that requires division and merging, it is difficult to create a transmission line uniformly, impedance mismatching occurs, and reflection occurs at this portion. The reflected signal returns to the transmission side, causing malfunction of the amplifier circuit of the transmission unit. In order to prevent this, a

In this embodiment, the transmission side performs frequency conversion after modulation and the demodulation side performs demodulation after frequency conversion. However, this is not necessarily the case, and the modulator and the demodulator do not have the desired frequency. The method of converting at a stroke may be used.
Next, the setting of the frequency used for transmission between vehicles is demonstrated. As shown in FIG. 10, since the connector A of one vehicle is connected to the connector B of another adjacent vehicle, the output signal (modulated wave signal) of the connector A is received by the connector B, and the output signal of the connector B (Modulated wave signal) is received by the connector A.
In the transmission using the carrier wave signal, it is necessary to separate the transmission and reception carrier frequencies of the
In addition, when a control signal (control data) for controlling the vehicle is transmitted, reliability is required, so that the network is generally a double system. In the case of a double system, it is necessary to use different frequencies for the 1 system and the 2 system in order to prevent signal interference in the signal connection device. Therefore, it is necessary to transmit at least four types of frequencies, and four types of

Thus, data communication between railway vehicles is performed, and data communication between vehicles is performed by a modulated wave signal obtained by modulating a carrier wave with a data frequency (baseband signal). Since the modulated wave signal can be set to an extremely high frequency relative to the noise frequency, data transmission between vehicles can be performed without being affected by noise. In addition, when a high-frequency carrier wave is used, the signal attenuation at the contact failure portion is reduced, so that communication is possible. Therefore, high-speed and large-capacity transmission can be performed with high accuracy without being affected by noise.
Next, since a drive device used for a railway vehicle is driven with a voltage of several kV and several hundred A or more, a large potential difference is generated between the vehicles. Therefore, when an electrically connected

In addition, connection devices such as automobiles are used in a poor environment that is exposed to high temperatures and the outside air and easily becomes dirty. In addition, connection devices used for home appliances and the like are frequently removed by ordinary people.
These signal connection devices are mainly connected by a connector that is connected by pins. However, after being disconnected, the surface of the connection terminal is oxidized and an oxide film is generated because it is exposed to the outside air for a long time. Furthermore, since dust and dirt also adhere, the electrical connection between the connection terminals is hindered when reconnected, resulting in poor connection. In addition, in general household appliances, a connection failure occurs due to the fact that an ordinary person does not perform an accurate connection in order to perform removal. For this reason, problems such as abnormal operation of on-board equipment such as an engine in an automobile and malfunction of the equipment in home appliances occur. Furthermore, in the social infrastructure equipment such as the above-mentioned railway, it causes a delay in the operation of the vehicle, which is a major obstacle to the operation.
In addition, the communication speed through the connector has been increased even in automobile equipment and home appliances, and communication exceeding 100 Mbps has been performed. In addition to power loss of active elements, communication at high voltage Noise radiated from the communication line increases, causing malfunction of peripheral devices.
Therefore, not only railways but also automobiles, personal computers, and home appliances are connected to perform data communication using a modulated wave signal obtained by modulating a carrier wave with a data signal (baseband signal). Built-in frequency conversion device.

As described above, according to the present embodiment, data transmission can be performed without being affected by noise, and a high-frequency carrier wave is transmitted using a high-frequency modulated wave signal modulated by a baseband signal. Thus, even if there is a contact failure at the connection portion, the signal is not attenuated, so that communication is possible. In addition, the connector with a built-in frequency converter transmits the signal on the wiring side as a low frequency and the frequency of the connection part as a high frequency, so both long-distance transmission and prevention of contact failure can be achieved, and highly reliable communication is possible. . Therefore, high-speed and large-capacity transmission can be performed with high accuracy without being affected by noise or poor connection in products with poor environment such as automobiles and railway cars, and products used by ordinary people such as home appliances.
