Abstract
PURPOSE:To control the quantity of light emitted with high accuracy and a simple circuit construction according to variations in temperature and prevent the quality of recorded images from being lowered, by controlling the quantity of light emitted by a recording light-emitting element based on a light-detecting means for a temperature-compensating light-emitting element. CONSTITUTION:A shift register 5 is sequentially supplied with image data 2 synchronously with a clock signal 1, and the data is latched into a latch circuit 6 by a latch signal 3. Gates 7 are opened according to a light emission time signal 4, and the data is given to drivers 8 to turn ON light-emitting diodes 9. A light-emitting diode 10 monitors the temperature of a head by a light emission output, and a light-receiving element 11 detects the output fro the diode 10. A current amplifier 12 amplifies an output current from the light- receiving element 11, and gives an input signal to a differential amplifier 13. The amplifier 13 is supplied with a reference voltage VS, and an output voltage VC obtained as the difference VS-VD between the reference voltage VS and an output voltage VD from the current amplifier 12 is generated. The output voltage VC is fed back to the gates 7, and is inputted to the drivers 8 through level conversion, thereby providing drivability.
