Abstract

PURPOSE:To increase the speed of switching on and off by noninductively winding a twisted portion of a superconductor filament on a winding frame together with a heater wire thereby reducing the heat capacity of a heat generating body. CONSTITUTION:Removing a stabilizer material 12 from a specified portion of a superconductive wire 11, an exposed portion of a superconductor filament 13 is wound noninductively together with a heater wire 20. As a result, a superconductor filament portion has a high resistance value under ordinary conducting condition, a leak current under ordinary conducting condition can be reduced, the portion of the superconductor filament 13 can be made shorter, and a persistent current switch element of thermal type can be made of a small size. As the heat capacity of the thermal type persistent current switch element becomes smaller with this constitution, the thermal type persistent current switch element of a high on-off switching speed as well as of less consumption amount of cooling medium can be obtained.
