The present invention provides (a) a polyfunctional cyanate ester, a prepolymer of the cyanate ester, or a prepolymer of the cyanate ester and an amine, (b) a polyfunctional maleimide, a prepolymer of the maleimide, or a prepolymer of the maleimide and an amine. This is a curable resin composition comprising a prepolymer and (c) dicyclopentadiene or dicyclopentadiene resin as essential components.
It provides a cured product with excellent physical properties such as chemical resistance. Conventionally, when polyfunctional cyanate esters and polyfunctional maleimides were formed by casting or the like, there was a drawback of low impact strength. Furthermore, products made of cyclopentadiene resin also had the disadvantage of being brittle. The present inventors have discovered that polyfunctional cyanate esters,
The resin composition obtained by mixing or pre-reacting polyfunctional maleimides and dicyclopentadienes has been shown to have good adhesion to the base material and can yield a cured product with improved impact strength. Heading, the present invention has been completed. The polyfunctional cyanate ester, which is a component of the composition of the present invention, is an organic compound having two or more cyanate ester groups, and a suitable cyanate ester has the following general formula R(-O-C≡ N)m...(1) [In the formula, m is an integer of 2 or more and usually 5 or less, R is an aromatic organic group, and the cyanate ester group is attached to the aromatic ring of the organic group R.
