Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a polyurethane being flexible and tough and having excellent heat resistance, solvent resistance, weatherability, discoloration resistance, etc., by crosslinking a polyurethane elastomer with a trifunctional isocyanate compd. and bonding a hindered amine compd. thereto. CONSTITUTION:A polyurethane is prepd. by crosslinking a polyurethane elastomer (A) obtd. by reacting a polymer diol with an org. diisocyanate and a chain extender with a trifunctional isocyanate compd. (B) of formula I (wherein R is a 2-3C divalent hydrocarbon residue) and furthermore bonding a hindered amine compd. (C) of formula II (wherein R1 is H, benzyl, halogen, lower alkyl, etc.; R2 is H, lower alkyl, phenyl, halogen, benzyl, etc.; X is H, amino, monoalkylamine, etc.; R8 and R9 are each 1-3C alkyl or a satd. five- or six- membered ring formed by bonding both of them). This polyurethane is applicable to, e.g., an artificial leather with a skin and exhibits soft touch, high skin surface strength, excellent ironing and dry cleaning characteristics and also exhibits such characteristics as reduced discoloration and deterioration for a long service.
