Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable the formation of a uniform and flat film of a magnetic fluid paint by embedding magnets at a position in an upstream side lip and at a position in a fixed part in the side of a rotating roll facing the lip so as to stabilize beads of the paint by using a magnetic force. CONSTITUTION:A roll 12, which allows a film 11 to move in contact with its surface rotating around a main axis at a constant angular velocity, and a nozzle D having a shape of almost parallel plates, through which a magnetic fluid paint is introduced, are arranged each other separated by a certain clearance. Two lips 16a and 16b are set at the open end of the nozzle D so that a clearance of a definite width is formed between them and the center of the clearance coincides with a normal of the roll 12 at the nearest point to the roll 12. Magnets 14 and 15 are arranged at the center of the thickness of the lip 16b situated in the upstream of the rotating direction of the roll 12 and its opposite position in a fixed part in the side of the roll 12, and almost cover the width of the lip. It is possible to stabilizer beads of the magnetic fluid paint, resulting in an efficient formation of a uniform and flat film.
