Abstract

PURPOSE:To efficiently atomize large amounts of liquid in a short time by forming a hollow part to the extensible diameter part of an ultrasonic vibrator horn from the tip side so that the cross-sectional areas in respective planes vertical to the direction of a shaft line are made nearly constant. CONSTITUTION:In an ultrasonic atomizer 20, while driving an ultrasonic vibrator horn 10, liquid is fed through a liquid feed path 22 provided to the inside of a casing 21 and discharged toward the atomization face 2 of the extensible diameter part 1a of the horn from the nozzle part of the tip and thereby atomization is performed by ultrasonic vibration of the atomization face 2. This extensible diameter part 1a is formed so that the atomization face 2 is formed into a conical shape having apex angle theta1=30-60 deg. and apex angle theta2 of a hollow part 3 opened toward the inner face is made 5-10 deg. larger than theta1 to form the inner circumferential face 3c and the doughnut-shaped cross-sectional area S is reduced toward the end part 3a from a terminal part 3b and the end part 3a is made to an antinode of vibration. Thereby large amounts of liquid substance can be atomized efficiently and uniformly in a short time.
