Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a primary prediction primary noise shaping A/D converter being effective even in case of a small signal by providing a means for generating a white noise of one bit, and a means for obtaining an output of a difference at two continuous sampling time points of its output. CONSTITUTION:As for a signal inputted from a terminal 1, an output 3 of a predicting device B and a signal of a terminal 4 are brought to D/A conversion and subtracted by a means 5 for taking a difference and accumulated by an integrator 7. Also, in this case, a digital signal of the terminal becomes an output signal of an A/D converter. The result of accumulation by the integrator 7 is added to a signal generated by a noise generating part C, by an adder 6 and whether it is positive or negative is decided by a comparator 8. The result of decision is held for one sampling period by an FF 11, and its inversion signal is applied to the predicting device B. In said generating part C, an output 12 of a difference at two continuous sampling time points of an output of a white noise generating means 15 for generating a white noise of one bit is obtained and superposed to an input of the comparator 8. Therefore, even when an input signal is small, the satisfactory S/N characteristic is obtained.
