Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the temperature rise of a superconducting coil by the frictional heat by a method wherein an endothermic member made of the mate rial having a high specific heat is adhered to the surface of the part to be supported and fixed of the superconducting coil. CONSTITUTION:An endothermic member 11, made of the material having a high specific heat, is adhered to the surface of the superconducting coil 1 which is integrally formed by impregnating synthetic resin. The coil 1 is supportingly fixed to the inner container through the intermediary of the member 11. When the member 11 is made of a kind selected from PrCu2, CeB6, EuB5.97, C0.03, and PrB6, the specific heat of the member 11 at a cryogenic temperature is larger by about two figures than the synthetic resin on the surface of the coil 1. The infiltration of frictional heat from the coil surface is reduced by about two figures. As a result, the temperature rise of the coil 1 by frictional heat can be prevented.
