Abstract

PURPOSE: To automate an entire freeze-drying operation by mounting a transmitter to a tray while its temperature-sensitive member touches or approaches an object to be dried and mounting a reception antenna to the inside of a drying bath. CONSTITUTION: Since a transmitter 28 mounted to a tray 22 cannot be connected to a receiver 29 that is provided at a drying bath 13 via a conductor as before, the transmitter 28 can be mounted to the tray 22 before the tray 22 is carried into the drying bath 13 and a temperature-sensitive member 30 can be arranged so that it touches or approaches an object 23 to be dried and accommodated in the tray 22. Also, after the prepared tray 22 is accommodated in the drying bath 13, the temperature of the object 23 to be dried measured by the temperature-sensitive member 30 can be changed to an electromagnetic wave signal by the transmitter 28, and the electromagnetic wave signal can be transmitted to a reception antenna 33 from the transmitter 28 and is further converted to a temperature signal by the receiver 29, thus monitoring the temperature of the object 23 to be dried during a freezing operation.
