Abstract

PURPOSE: To simultaneously perform keyboard operation and the other desk work on one desk by forming a recessed part on the upper surface of the desk, fitting a lid, of which the upper surface becomes almost the same plane as the upper surface of the desk, thereto and arranging a shelf under that lid so as to place the keyboard of information processing equipment at any suitable height for the keyboard operation. CONSTITUTION: A shelf 4 is disposed at the position lower than an upper surface 1 of desk for 5-20cm under a lid 3 covering a recessed part 2 formed on the upper surface of the desk while leaving left and right parts, and a keyboard 5 is placed on that shelf. When using this keyboard, a chair is set in front of the desk, a user sits down while putting his knees under the shelf 4, the keyboard 5 is operated while inserting hands from the front side to under the lid 3 and at the same time, usual desk work such as writing or plotting is performed on the plane formed from the upper surface of the lid 3 and the upper surface 1 of desk. Thus, since the keyboard operation and the other usual desk work such as writing or plotting can be simultaneously performed on one desk and both the keyboard operation and the usual desk work can be performed in natural attitude without necessity to move the user himself or to change its direction, there is no danger of fatigue and further, it is not necessary to prepare different desks for both the work, either.
